L6207Q Vref maximum level

Hi all,

I have a question about the full bridge driver L6207Q.

About the VREF signal, in my design I am going to drive it with a DAC with maximum output voltage above 1V.

I would avoid to insert an attenuation stage between DAC output and L6507Q VREF input.

Is advisable and , if yes, how much is possible to overcome the recommended maximum VREF level of 0,5V suggested in page 9 of AN1762?

My goal value for VREF max is around 0,7 - 0,75V. What kind of drawbacks I would face in this case?

Thanks for your attention,

Sergio

Hi Sergio,

the higher is the reference voltage, the bigger will be the power dissipation in the shunt resistors of the application . The 0.5 V indicated in the AN usually gives a good trade-off between power dissipation and sensing precision. However, your target value is still in a good region :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
