Posted on April 14, 2014 at 23:24I have a design with a L6206 driving two permanent magnet DC motors. With one motor, the chip is connected exactly like in the datasheet on pg. 18. It works fine. The other motor is almost identical except the IN line is held high and the EN/OCD is pulsed (through a 30kohm resistor - no cap) with PWM at 17kHz. This causes the L6206 to latch on permanently upon initial PWM pulse. The chip must be replaced. I don't see any place in the manual where I cannot pulse the EN pin - is this operation not allowed?
