Dear Enrico,

thanks a lot for your explanation. I got it functional.

But what will users do that only want to use the communication board connected to own hardware?

I hope that all needed software will be available when the page is updated.

Additional problem:

dspin software crashes randomly but always within a few minutes. I think that's more a problem of the PCC009V2 board, because its status LED turns on during a crash.

Is that a known problem and is a workaround available?

Dear KlausS,

The board drivers are installed with the dSPIN Evaluation Software:

1. Install dSPIN Evaluation Tool

2. Connect the board to the PC through a USB cable

3. System will start assisted driver installation procedure:

3a. Chose to install device driver from a specific location

3b. Browse the driver path (drivers are insalled into ''Drivers'' sub-directory in dSPIN Evaluation Tool directory)

3c. When driver certification warning is shown click on ''continue'' button

4. Driver installation completed

I'll check if the board dll are available.

Best Regards,

Enrico Poli

Dear KlausS,

The status led of the communication board turns on when a communication problem occurred.

You are the first customer reporting this bug, we will investigate the problem.

Thanks for your feedback.

Best Regards,

Enrico Poli

Dear Mr. Poli,

Important information about EVAL6470 board!

Zener diode D2 (BZX284C3V6) is soldered wrong direction! Motor supply voltage compensation is not functional and results in very high motor currents (ADCIN always at 0,7V (diode foreword voltage)!

Please check with your board manufacturer whether or not this is a general placement error!

Best Regards Klaus

Dear Klaus,

Thanks for this important feedback.

Current boards should be correct, but we are checking with the manufacturer if there are others boards with this error.

We will take all needed actions to prevent the recurrence of this event.

If you send me your address I will immediately ship you a new EVAL6470. My email is enrico.poli@st.com

Thanks again and best regards

Dear Klaus,

the IBUUI page has been updated.

Now you should find the dll and driver installation file into the ''

Firmware for STEVAL-PCC009V2 board'' file.

Kind Regards,

Enrico Poli

Dear Mr. Poli

I've downloaded the latest Firmware and DLL Files for STEVAL-PCC009V2 but I really can't communicate with the STEVAL. I'd like to write an own GUI to communicate through STEVAL over SPI. The STEVAL is connected via USB to the computer and the driver is properly installed. Could you please help me just to initialize the SPI communication. The SPI_Connect() function in the DLL only returns 0xFFFFFFFF, which is not a suitable return value. Did I forget anything? This is my startup routine:

m_spiHandle = SPI_Connect();

m_spiHandle = SPI_InitSPICommunication();

m_spiHandle = SPI_WriteSPISettings(m_tx,6,0);

the m_tx is a BYTE-array containing {0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0}

Thanks in advance

Flavio
