Could you probe with the oscilloscope the ADC inputs of your MCU so we can see the true BACK-EMF the mcu is actually seeing?

from your discussion with @Javier Muñoz​ it seems you want to compare systems strongly different.

I agree with him with the suggestions to fix current spikes.

Moreover I am a dedicated expert for ST motor control hardware.

In the two solutions described there are no ST gate driver or motor driver to support.

I don’t know how to help you, I don’t know the competitor ICs.

Finally the subsequent requests are outside the main question for which the topic was opened.
