Can I use STD25N10F7 to replace STD15NF10 ?

Hello,

I appears that STD25N10 is designed to a replacement for the STD15NF10. Do you confirm?

Do you have any comparisons or recommendations about external gate resistors when this device is used in a three phase inverter application?

STD25N10F7 can be suitable replacement for the legacy part STD15NF10, due to it's superior Rdson and similar current rating. The F7 technology is a trench style MOSFET v. the NF planar style, so it will switch faster and may have weaker thermal, avalanche, and SOA characteristics. A close comparison by datasheet is necessary to determine if it is suitable for your application.

Gate resistor selection is highly dependent on application considerations - Layout, switching frequency, EMI constraints, current, etc. We recommend laying out for both turn on and turn off resistors and adjusting them by experiment to meet your needs.
