I am looking at the ac/ac chopper circuit in AN2316 (Improved ST7LITE05 AC Chopper Driver Solution) as a starting point for a variable controller for a resistive (heater) load of 0 to 10KVA to replace an analog SCR controller I am presently using.
Could this circuit be modified from 300 watts to 10K watts using the control logic ''as is'' and merely upgrading the high power side of the circuit?
What would be the software/timing considerations for these higher powers compared to the 300 watt version in the evaluation kit?
Can anyone make any suggestions for me to consider as I am new to this method of AC/AC chopping.
For your interest, this project is to repalce the SCR version (with analog control) of a micro-hydro generator load controller to help maintain speed and frequency within the system utilizing a variable electrical load.
