Load and Run in the STR71x External Flash

Hi all,

I come just to begin to use the STR71x external flash. Several things adorned me strange.

At first time I succeeded to lode and run a program from the External flash and I correctly can have the result.

After some essays I retry with the same test but despite that the process of load is correctly done. I can have anything and the program does not work correctly.

If I verify the content of the external flash really nothing is written in the memory!!

Any one can explain for me this behavior.

I try again with a STR71x External flash test and you find at the following a detailed description of the problem status and the possible solutions:

=>The problem that the STR71x external used flash present a write protection feature and this is Irreversible.

Write Protect is an input that gives an additional hardware protection for

each block. When Write Protect is activated, the Lock-

Down is enabled and the protection status of

the block cannot be changed .

=>Solutions:

1- Start with a bank 1 of the memory, bank 0 is not available, so you can't boot from the external flash.

2- Change the flash with another one who present the same footprint and without the protection feature.
