My goal is to boot Windows NT 4.0 on our hardware, which uses the Vega in local bus mode. The Super I/O is interfaced via a CPLD, similar to the eval board. Unfortunately, NT setup hangs about the time it jumps to the a different video mode, and the screen remains half black, half blue.
I tried this on the eval board, which is running in local bus mode, and NT setup did not hang. I used the same video card for both systems. I have two questions: 1. Do you have any experience running WinNT on the Vega, and have you ever witnessed this problem. 2. There are only 4 IOCS# lines, but looking at the local bus registers on the eval board I see that IOAREG0-7 are used. How do IOAREG4-7 affect the IOCS# lines? This isn't mentioned in the programmer's guide. Thanks.
