Choosing an oscilloscope

PPopo
Senior

Hello,

I want to buy an oscilloscope to help me learn embedded programming and how to use it(I need that for work) ;).

I'm thinking of buying this one: Hantek DSO5072P Digital Oscilloscope, 70 MHz Bandwidth, 1 GSa/s, 7.0" Display

Please tell me what do you guys think of it. Also please suggest others you may think are more suited for what I want.

Thanks!!!

This depends on your budget, but this scope looks fine to me. I have a similar one (Rigol, 2 channel, 100MHz, 1GSmpl/s).

Even an old analog scope is an infinite improvement, compared to "no scope".

And you should keep in mind that "brand name" does not always equal "manufacturer". Many great names in the business have them built in China. Rigol e.g. produced for HP and Agilent.

Aight thanks. Yes I'm willing to spend that ammount on that one even tou some may consider it an expensive 'first scope' ;). I see it has nice reviews and is quite used so I'm guessing googleing about it in case there'll be issues will find me answers.
