Hello, I want to do a self test to lsm9ds1.
Is there any file that explain how to do it?
I found some sources but nothing official.
If there is not official file, i have some questions:
Is the sensor can't be in motion at the time of the self test?
Is the sensor must be in specific position?
How to make self test to the magnetometer?
Thank you
Yair Sarid

Hello,
It is also not 'official' information from ST, but I am working on LSM9DS1, and for the magnetometer self-test I am using the procedure of the LIS3MDL magnetometer. The procedure I am using for the magnetometer is explained in the
/external-link.jspa?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.st.com%2Fresource%2Fen%2Fapplication_note%2Fdm001366pdf
. Unfortunately, it is possible that the ranges for testing the results are differentbetween theLSM9DS1magnetometer and theLIS3MDL. I asked on this forum a question about that:

There is also some hints in the response to:
https://community.st.com/0D50X00009XkfhlSAB
Unfortunately, as mentioned in a comment, it is not clear also for me if we have to take the difference 'NOST_DATA - ST_DATA' or'
ST_DATA - NOST_DATA'
to check the sign.
Best,
David

I'm sorry, the self-test procedure cannot be shared on the forum.
The sensor can't be in motion during the self-test.
The position during the self-test doesn't matter.

Hello all,
david.meignan
is correct, last official information confirmed that magnetometer inside LSM9DS1 is exactly LIS3MDL and you can use forLSM9DS1magnetometer selftest including the limits.
