Any way how can I get in touch with ST on availability on this product? We would like to implement this into our devices, a devkit or hardware preview would help, we had previously integrated with the VL53L8 and VL53L5 which the result are good, and with the release of VL53L9, it will produce even better result for 3D mapping.
Thanks
Vince

The L9 capabilities are indeed starting to leak out. But it's not soup yet. The ingredients are in the pot, but there is a lot of cooking to go yet.
But I do understand your desire to keep abreast of developments.
If you already have a sales rep, make them aware of your interest. It's their job to let you know when we start shipping.
If you do not already have a rep, step one is to contact a sales office. From ST.com, click on the support tab and choose one of the many of sale offices.
Your sales rep will do the work of understanding your product, your requirements and keeping you informed of progress.

VL53L9CA product page is gone. Could not find listed. Gone for good?

Lord no, it's not gone. But here is the deal.
We announce a cool new product before it's really ready. What we are looking for is one big customer who wants to buy millions of them.
And we found one. That's the good bit.
But these sorts of customers always want changes. And the part wasn't really ready anyway, so it's according to plan.
Changes are being done, and we will start shipping.
Once all the kinks are worked out with that specific customer we will try to make the software easy enough that it doesn't take a team of ST FAEs to support it, and we will release it to the world.
So, we are on target, and we will release it, but not this year.

Hi ! (I recognize you from the cool soda machine demo:grinning_face_with_sweat:)
Can you give an update? A rough estimate, might I dare?
We are unsure if you start development with the existing 8 and 7 lines, or to hold our horses and wait for the real stuff...
Thanks!

It’s always dangerous to invest a lot of time and money on a part that is not released. I would not advise it.
Best thing to do is go to the ST support page and find one of our sales associates. Let them contact or marketing team. Get an official estimate of when the chip comes out.
I’m your guy for the technical stuff but I can’t promise delivery.

Hi, I'll try reaching out. I am actually more worried about spending resources on a part that might be overthrown (and by a large difference it seems) But I guess it would be good to start playing with whatever is available. Get our hands dirty.
Thanks!
PS. I just don't think that the scenario of it not coming out (or changing for the worst) is reasonable. It's a game changer for a huge number of applications, and there's basically no competition
