VL53L5CX How can we place a VL53L5CX behind a glass- or plastic window? When we try this the sensor can only detect the window, and not what is outside the window.

Great question --

Start with the article:

https://community.st.com/s/article/Time-of-Flight-Cover-glass

(it's also in the article tab at the top of the ToF questions)

Your problem is called crosstalk - photons that hit the coverglass and reflect back.

you have 3 basic solutions:

1) clearer, thiner, optical quaility glass.

2) Separate glasses with an opaque barrier between them (Hormix.com.tw makes them)

3) crosstalk calibratrion.

Or I suppose you can use any combination of the above.

But start with the article and go from there.
