We made a horrible mistake. We named one chip the VL53L1 and the other the VL53L1X. It was never our intention to sell the VL53L1 to anyone but our absolutely largest customers, so it did not matter much.

But then we had a lot of demand and decided to sell them both to everyone.

So, we renamed the VL53L1 to VL53L1CB.

But we did a terrible job of renaming the code, and a bunch of the documentation.

Simple answer - the VL53L1 and the VL53L1CB are the same.

Sorry about that.
