Pasting images not working

Andrew Neil
Super User

For the past week or so, pasting images directly into posts seems to have broken.

I used to be able to just take a screenshot, or copy an image and paste it straight into the editor, but that no longer works.

I press 'paste', and nothing happens - no error messages or anything.

I am now having to save the image locally, and then use the 'Insert Photos' button to import it.

There is history with this, but now it seems to have just broken completely.

Using Chrome Version 145.0.7632.109 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows-11 Pro

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

I'm actually referring to the other bug. Maybe it's best in a new thread.

@Maxime_MARCHETTO1 @Lina_DABASINSKAITE  It's still not working, but the behaviour has changed.

I just tried to paste am image; it still didn't work, but I did get an error this time:

Thanks @Andrew Neil. I passed this to the team. They are currently working on the fix. I will keep you posted once there are news. If you notice anything new, let us know.

Thanks!

Hi @Andrew Neil.

Yes, this has been fixed this morning as well. I am happy to see it's working for you!

Lina
