Hello, Currently we are using STM32G4A1VET6 MCU in our board and we dont have any high speed application in the board, suppose i dont want to use any crystal/oscillator on these pins, then how these pins should be taken care in our schematic, I checked in the documents regarding thsi but it is not mentioned what to do with these pins if we dont connect any crystal/oscillator how can we terminate or can we use it as GPIO, could you please provide the supporting documents for these?
Hello All,I am new to touchgfx and looking to implement something where a array of structure containing name and other parameters to display. I need to display parameters on selection of the names displayed. I have a created a container and able to update the parameter names to the textarea of scrollist as in picture. Now i need to implement a way where user can select any one Preset name and those corresponding parameters should load to the respective area. as in image attached. Just let me know the way to do it will try out things as suggested.
Hello... I'm learning to use an external ST-Link to debug the F446ZE Nucleo using SDW. Can anyone advise on how to connect the SDIO, SDW pin on the Nucleo board to the external ST-Link v2? Additionally, what settings should I configure in CubeIDE to use the ST-Link v2? I also have an ST-Link v3. Any advice on ST-Link v3 is also welcome, thank you. https://www.amazon.sg/SFCPI-Programmer-Microcontroller-Interface-Simulatio/dp/B09Q22M9CK/ref=sr_1_36?crid=16YO1JU6U2RWK&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qqFD5Om07FWVxJ7mURnZvAnBXRCvJLAQA211deD1kNya9Js-DqO4-cRn32AtBIWEjDRlPpe_iywzItiqexRhb4j0qY49XkVoXA0n89ljKBoRFXV6OtPfcvENRcc6aJKyvUjyjVMDuYCSStnxmpRokAql1UFr0zT4LqAi1VGYAovx1-V2XjdyoouwF_KGzUU-6lEV6hBoUunOrp0PLq7VsBZMLrv5TwNRszwZUo5HPvUgHSQ-3m51Yt_CG7esZIWzdBnP3x7p0Yd8WOAMxQlEtFSSIx_3tGKZ-m8LbvSLx6M.QUpPBdFT7TRzoO4J6g9ul67tLg7CKKrPYTn3bClG2QQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=st-link+v2&qid=1755192393&sprefix=ST+LINK+%2Caps%2C278&sr=8-36
Hi Community,I’m working on an STM32H747I-DISCO board and trying to build a simple application using TouchGFX.I created an analog clock widget in TouchGFX Designer and successfully flashed it to the board. The clock displayed correctly on the LCD.However, when I modify the project (for example, changing UI elements or logic) and reflash it, the display does not update to reflect my changes.I am trying to develop application on analog clock which reads time through internal RTC and update in clock and it is failing.I’m looking for guidance on:Understanding how dual-core microcontrollers (like the STM32H747I with Cortex-M7 and Cortex-M4) handle TouchGFX applications. The correct procedure to flash TouchGFX-based projects after modifications, so that updates are reflected on the display.Any tips, explanations, or step-by-step guides would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hello folks, I've seen a similar topic(link) on this forum, but it had no solution, I'll take my chance and see if you could offer me some tips on how to debug this. I've designed a custom "break-out" board for STM32WB5MMG and I'm trying to communicate with the MCU via SWD using a STLINK-V3 MINIE but unfortunately, it's not able to detect the target MCU even though I have connected the MCUs PA13/SWDIO & PA14/SWCLK directly to STLINKV3. I've referred to the data sheet on page 16 to the best of my ability on how to design the breakout board but still I am not able to communicate with the MCU. (see schematic below)Am I missing something here? Any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Hello,I wanted to create a firmware to communicate first between my laptop and one stm32n6 using the ethernet communication protocol. Then enable communication between two stm32n6 (as client and server)How do i configure the GPIOs and such on the .ioc file to make that happenAnd what is the most basic code that can work in that sense. Thank you for your response.

I'm building a high-speed two-stage data pipeline on the STM32H735G-DK and encountering issues with corrupted signal output in external memory.Setup:ADC1 + ADC2 in dual interleaved mode sampling a single direct channel at 12-bit resolutionTriggered via TIM2 TRGO at 5.5 MHz (effective 11 MSPS)DMA1_Stream0 in double buffer circular mode, writing to RAM_EXEC (bufferA and bufferB)MDMA in circular linked list mode, triggered by DMA TC flag, alternately transfers bufferA/B to external HyperRAM (mapped at 0x70000000 via OCTOSPI2)Problem:ADC data is correctly written to internal RAM, but the signal in HyperRAM is choppy, discontinuous, and out of phase when reconstructing a clean 10 kHz sine wave during post-processing.Suspicions:MDMA may be pulling stale buffer data due to desync with DMA toggleLinked list nodes may be misalignedMemory attribute or caching problems (all regions currently non-cacheable)What I’ve Tried:Slowing down sampling and verifying CT bit toggling confirms ping-pong behav
Hello everyone, I'm using the USART 1 of the STM32U375-KG. Regarding this I have two questiones:1.) Can I use UART CTS (clear to send) and DE (driver enable) at the same time? In the device configuration tool I can only select "CTS only" or "Hardware Flow Control (RS485)".Backgound: I'm implementing a hart driver for the DAC8740H. For the UART control there are two pins "CD" and "RTS". The protocol is half duplex. I'm only allowed to send data, if "CD" is low. Thus this pin works like standard RS232 CTS. The RTS pin enables the TX driver. Thus this pin works like RS485 DE (driver enable). 2.) I'm using the USART 1 with a GPDMA to receive data. It happens that I get a parity error or framing error from time to time (that is correct). In the USART interrupt the Rx transfer and the DMA will be ended. Is there a way to avoid that or do I really have to restart the DMA transfer with "HAL_UART_Receive_DMA(*)"? Kind regards,Nico Code where RX is ended: stm32u3x
Dear member of ST community, I would ask you about the thermal characteristics of B-G431-ESC1 Motor Control evaluation board.I purchased it few weeks ago and started to play with six step for beginning and later FOC algorithms. I observed on my board that if power supply V+ 18-20V is active and PWM outputs are switching, of course deadtime is set to ~500ns, board running at 170MHz the PCB temperature reaches ~50 °C or even more. The temperature is quite uniform. The DC/DC itself produces heat by switching and the power stage too, but for me seems to be a little to much. Is it normal or something is failed on the board? I removed the DC/DC converter and provided the 10V from external supply, the situation is similar. PWM outputs disabled. In that case the heat is produced by DC/DC only. Is that normal? I did rough calculation based on datasheet and for me it looks to be too much for roughly 100mA output current. Additional heat generated by 3-phase power stage itself when PWM
I am learning touchgfx with stm32f469i-disco board, how to configure dsi-video mode ? i want to use ltdc , dma2d, dsi-video.c i download the demo Edit: moved to a new thread from STM32 dev kit with DSI and demo software playing video from SD card (ideally using DMA).
I have set up a DMA on an I2S device with an STM32H503CBU6. The idea is, that the DMA runs continuously on a single bufferaddress (one word, containing the left and right channels for the external I2S-DAC). When the DMA transfer of that 1 word is complete it should start over again by itself. At present the goal is not achieved with the following setup:uint16_t ram_loc[2] = {0,0}; int main(void) { /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_GPDMA1_Init(); MX_ICACHE_Init(); MX_I2C1_Init(); MX_I2S2_Init(); MX_TIM1_Init(); HAL_I2S_Transmit_DMA(&hi2s2, ram_loc,1); // since circular is configured, // am I right that the DMA keeps alive itself? /* USER CODE END 2 */ /* Infinite loop */ while (1) { // for testi
Hello STM Community,I have a project on STM32F407 with a web server. I am loading html pages and data from external USB storage using fs_open_custom() (fs.c) but in some cases I was still using internal flash with fsdata(_custom.c). For example, a 404 page for external memory error or disconnection cases to report a web server memory error.I recently updated to HAL 1.27.1 and reading data via fsdata_custom.c suddenly stopped working correctly. When requesting to read fsdata, the entire ethernet always dropped without reconnecting (must restart the MCU). After return back only the stm32f4xx_hal_eth.c/.h and ethernetif.c/.h files (the rest will remain in HAL 1.27.1), reading will start working correctly again. Is there any knowledge of this specific behavior or ethernet error after updating to HAL 1.27.1? Or is there already a fix please? I read here about the major overhaul of ethernet in the 1.27.0/1 update and the new problems it brought. Updating to HAL 1.28.0 (Cube 6.11) did not fix
I have to use Emcraft's STM32H750XB System on Module for a freeRTOS based application. I haven't soldered male berg pins on any headers. I am referring Emcraft's schematic to check pinouts. I thought I would first test out all peripherals without RTOS using cubemx because there are very limited pins available from the MCU. Printing with USART2 on serial monitor works perfectly fine. When I try to toggle to any GPIO which is connected to an external LED, it doesn't blink but I could see the mode being set to output mode, even the output data register of that pin seems to toggle as seen in SFR tab but nothing out. When using I2C4 for no slave dummy transmission I am unable to see any data in SDA line, but I can see something in SCL like 3 square waves non periodic. Same goes for SPI4 dummy no slave transmission, I can only see MOSI data line but nothing in SCLK line. I know there are full fledged freeRTOS demo applications for this SOM on Emcraft's, but I want to figure out what's the is
Hello ST membersI've been having a problem with my STM32H745I-DISCO Board after my co-worker was trying to learn how to use and create projects with it.It was a simple project of using a digital button conected to the board via jumper and a potentiometer. it used sampling from gui to make the conection between the information that came from the model to the view.He used the option of solve clock issues in cubeMX to configure the analog ports. After that, the screen was blank, I tried to upload my previously working projects to the board but nothing changed. I tried erasing the flash and external memory via cube programmer, nothing changed. There were no build problems, and when flashing the project via touchgfx, no problems were announced in the monitor too. Then, I tried uploading the exemple project from ST called LTDC_Display_2Layers, and it worked perfectly. After that, I tried uploading the full demo for my board STM32Cube_Demo-STM32H745I-DISCO-V1.0.0_FULL.hex, it also
Hello ST Community,I’m looking to upgrade the MCU on an existing board originally designed around the STM32F769 (LQFP176 variant). I’d like to know:1. Is the STM32H743 or H753 (LQFP176 package) **pin-to-pin compatible** with the STM32F769 such that it can serve as a drop-in replacement?2. What changes are needed in the **power supply circuitry**, given the F7 uses the BYPASS_REG pin while the H7 uses integrated LDO/SMPS and software-based regulator control?3. Are there other design considerations I must be aware of when making this change (e.g., bootloader, clock configuration, peripheral differences)?I’ve already reviewed the migration guide AN5293, but I’d appreciate any practical insights or caveats.Thank you!
whether stm32 can be supplied with 5V or 3.3V only.
Hello,I am currently learning low level embedded programming, which lead me to try to extract the data used to generate the table 51 of the document RM0394 Rev 5. I would use this data to generate C++ code. Is the raw data of this table is publicly available somewhere in a format machine-readable?I already managed to extract the data from this PDF, but as this extracted text loses its references, I'm unable to tell what entry corresponds to what exact MCU series.Thank you for your help!
Hello I cannot manage to make my program working Nucleo 32 Board L412KB Time base of 1 s with TIM1 after debugging it appears that the programms never enters in the call back function of my code here below some explanations : - call to HAL_TIM_IRQHandler(&htim1); from the IRQ handler is OK Then /* TIM Update event */ if ((itflag & (TIM_FLAG_UPDATE)) == (TIM_FLAG_UPDATE)) { if ((itsource & (TIM_IT_UPDATE)) == (TIM_IT_UPDATE)) { __HAL_TIM_CLEAR_FLAG(htim, TIM_FLAG_UPDATE); #if (USE_HAL_TIM_REGISTER_CALLBACKS == 1) htim->PeriodElapsedCallback(htim); #else HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback(htim); #endif /* USE_HAL_TIM_REGISTER_CALLBACKS */ } OK as well Then the program goes to the weak function instead, while i expected he went to the standard call back function in my code where i toggle LD3 I suspect that i forget something important but i don't find I am not familiar with Interrupt handling, could you please help here Thanks Many thanks in advance Regards P
Hi, I'm facing an issue with waking the STM32WL55JC1 from Standby mode using RTC Alarm A. Setup: Using LSE as RTC clock source RTC and Alarm A are initialized correctly Alarm A interrupt works when not entering standby Wake-up via RTC Wakeup Timer works fine (standby + timer = success) Issue: When I: Clear RTC time and date Set Alarm A to trigger a few seconds ahead Enter Standby mode Wait for wake-up → The system does not wake up from Alarm A. However, if I skip Standby mode, Alarm A fires the interrupt as expected. Observation: RTC Alarm A interrupt is configured and enabled. EXTI and NVIC settings are correct. I suspect the Alarm A wakeup source isn’t properly enabled or EXTI line isn’t configured before entering standby. Request: Could you confirm the correct sequence or any missing configuration required for: Enabling Alarm A as a wakeup source from standby Ensuring EXTI line 17 is correctly set before standby Let me know if additional register dump
I write six 32-bit floats to RAM every 10 µs (100 kHz) via DMA.
