I'm designing a USB-C charging circuit for a battery-powered device using the STUSB4531 for PD negotiation alongside a BQ25792 buck-boost battery charger. The BQ25792 handles the full VBUS power path internally (inrush limiting, reverse current protection, OVP, and dead battery support), so I'm trying to understand whether the external P-FET that STUSB4531 normally drives is still required. Specifically: 1. Can the GATE pin be left NC or tied off without affecting CC detection and PD negotiation? Or does the IC require a valid FET load on GATE to operate correctly?2. If the GATE pin must drive something, would it be acceptable to connect GATE to the BQ25792's CE (charge enable) pin instead of a FET gate — effectively using it as a charger enable signal rather than a loadswitch?3. Dead battery / no battery scenario: I need the system to power up from VBUS even when the battery is absent or fully depleted. The BQ25792 already supports dead battery mode on its own. If the external FE

Hello, I want to use an I2C port of a STM32F411 MCU (MCU_A) in target mode to receive data from another MCU (MCU_B), MCU_B code already existing and verified with other receivers.I configured the project with STM32CubeMX, with interrupts enabled to handle communication in interrupt mode.I used MX standard settings to generate CubeIDE project with HAL code. With some effort for setting up the initialization and other code for MCU_A in CubeIDE, communication looks ok from sending MCU_B perspective.Additional check of SDA and SCL signals with DSO looks ok to. But the problem was: No data was transfered to the receive data buffer in MCU_A. After several hours of debugging, I found a suspicious code section in the HAL code (stm32f4xx_hal_i2c.c).In the HAL function     static void I2C_Slave_ADDR(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c, uint32_t IT2Flags)which is called in     HAL_I2C_EV_IRQHandler ()when adress matches, the direction flag received from MCU_B

I am trying to troubleshoot and reverse engineer a project no longer in production and for which the developer is no longer reachable.  The project is based on the ST MB997C and uses an attached daughter board that serves as an R232 communications interface to external I/O (whatever other functions it may perform are unclear).  Are there PCB suppliers that manufacture MB997C compatible PCBs to provided specifications?  The subject PCB in this project is silkscreened with the project name "ProBox V1R1", so it is not a generic OTS part.  Also, are there resources out there that can reverse engineer the functions of this PCB?  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I've P-NUCLEO-6283A1 and downloaded the graphical user interface STSW-IMG301. The quick start guide does not seem to be up to date as I did not find "VD6283_setup.exe" I was supposed to install, just a plain exe in the zip.At the first try GUI complained that it cannot communicate with the board. Next I updated the firmware with the GUI. Now when trying to start I get error complaining about invalid product version. What is going on here? Does the GUI ship with incorrect firmware binary? My board

I'm running into an issue where my STM32G4 gets stuck in an infinite while loop inside R3_2_SwitchOffPWM() during the motor control initialisation sequence, and I wanted to share it here in case others have encountered the same thing.---Hardware & Software- Board: EVSPIN32G4- Code generation tool: ST Motor Control Workbench v6.4.2- No manual edits made to any generated files---What happensDuring startup, MX_MotorControl_Init() is called from main(), which triggers MCboot() → FOC_Clear() → PWMC_SwitchOffPWM() → R3_2_SwitchOffPWM(). Hi, I made a custom board and made a design in touchgfx. But my screen keeps being black.I want to confirm something because I think I made a mistake in my design. I selected the following display:MDT0130CIS-MULTI:https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/4321575.pdf?_gl=1*vshmrc*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3NzUxMjEwOTIuRUFJYUlRb2JDaE1JM1BxQnEtbk9rd01WdHprR0FCMXQ5Z2k1RUFRWUFTQUJFZ0xmZVBEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_au*MTM4MTIxMjM2Mi4xNzc2NDEzMzk5 Now in the datasheet from the ST7789V driver which is on board of the MDT0130CIS-MULTI display it says the following. Can I conclude from this that I cant drive this display with LTDC and Touch GFX?Kind regards, WilliamP.S.I included my .ioc file and main.c file if that could help.

Dear Team, We are planning to design a custom board based on STM32H745IIT6.We would like to request whether STMicroelectronics can provide any official reference design (schematic, PCB files, or recommended evaluation board) specifically for STM32H745IIT6. If there is no dedicated reference design for this exact part, please let us know: Which existing STM32H745/H747 Discovery or Evaluation board can be safely used as the hardware reference for STM32H745IIT6 Any recommended documents or design guidelines to follow for production hardware Kindly share the relevant links or document references. Thank you for your support. Regards,Sathiya

Just a heads-up, this post was written by AI. I used it to document a process of debugging this board, and create a summary for a forum post.Platform: ST25R3911B, RFAL library, ISO 14443AConfig: Single-ended mode, 0.3m 50Ω coaxial cable, remote antenna PCBSupply: 5V on VDD and VIORead range: ~10mm (expected 40-80mm for antenna size)Setup OverviewI'm using an ST25R3911B driving a remote PCB antenna via a 0.3m 50Ω coaxial cable in single-ended mode (RFO1). The antenna is a 2-turn square loop, 70×70mm outer dimension, 1.4mm trace width, 0.7mm spacing, calculated inductance ~735nH.The chip drives two antennas switched alternately — RFO1 to the remote antenna via coax, RFO2 to a local antenna. Both antennas show identical poor range (~10mm), so the problem is not specific to the coax path.Hardware — Reader PCB Matching NetworkDesigned using the ST25R Antenna Matching Tool V3.6.2 with these parameters:Target: ST25R3911BConfig: single-ended-cableAntenna inductance: 701 nHTarget matching Z: 8

Hello everyone,I am currently trying to create a CMake based C-project for the ST Evaluation board STM32H757I-EVAL, that allows me to render a UI on the MIPI DSI connected display, that comes with it.Due to other work related requirements, I don't want to use TouchGFX, but will later try to add the LVGL framework to create our UI.However, at time of writing I have been unable to configure my project in such a way, that I can manually fill a Framebuffer and have that have any effect on the display. I have created a github repo with a "minimal" example of the configuration efforts so far.A "short" overview:I tried to create said CMake project through the STM32CubeMX code generator, and after a lot of trial, error and misunderstanding what is and isn't generated, I added the ST libraries for the external SDRAM "IS42S32800J" as well as the display driver IC "OTM8009A" and tried to configure the clocks and configurations of the following components:GPIO of the attached display pinsFMC to en

Hello, there are different statements on the minimum operating voltage for LoRa operation.STM32WL5-PWR paper says 1.95V,STM32WLE5 ref manual says 1.8V (section 5.3.3 Transmitter). What's correct?

Hello everyone, I have a NUCLEO-H755ZIQ board and I am trying to use the HRTIM to output a 50Hz pwm signal. I hook the output to an oscilloscope and I see that the pulse has a period of 19.2ms instead of 20ms, meaning that while I have configured the clock for the HRTIM to run at 2MHz (meaning that it needs 40000 ticks to complete a period) it runs at 2.6MHz. Can anyone help me understand what am I doing wrong? I have attached the .ioc file. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to compile a basic blinky application for the N6 and failing. I open the latest CubeIDE, import the GPIO_Toggle project (or any other one for that matter) and try to build. Hi all,I designed a custom STM32 board that powers up, but the firmware starts only after I manually press the reset button. Once reset is pressed, everything works normally. The clock source is an external crystal, and BOOT pins are configured with resistors. Questions: Should I suspect reset timing, clock startup, or BOOT pin state first? Would increasing reset delay with an RC network help? On the PCB, how close should crystal traces and load capacitors be placed to the MCU pins?

HiI am trying to setup the NUCLEO-G491RE along with a X-NUCLEO-SNK1M1 to communicate with a USBC PD source.I have tried to follow the STM32StepByStep - Getting started with USB-Power Delivery Sink.STM32StepByStep:Getting started with USB-Power Delivery Sink - stm32mcuAfter generating the code and trying to build the project I get the following error:fatal error: gui_os_port.h: No such file or directorymake: *** [Utilities/GUI_INTERFACE/subdir.mk:25: Utilities/GUI_INTERFACE/gui_api.o] Error 1make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....I am unsure how to make this error go away, because as far as I understand it, the CubeMX code generator should give me all the necessary output files to make this simple sink project functional.I would like to get the GUI to work, such that I can verify the ability to change the power output of the USBC Source.I attached the generated files along with the CubeMX file. Thanks in advance.

Hello ST Community,I’m working with the STM32 Nucleo-N657 board and need a way to execute my application after flashing to external memory without manually toggling the BOOT1 jumper on the board. What I’m Doing Now:BOOT1 jumper is set to HIGH for development (DEV boot mode)I have a simple LED blink application built with GPIO configured in the FSBL context The code runs as expected in DEV mode (debug mode of STM32CubeIDE)I then flashed the signed binary in external memory using STM32CubeProgrammer and External Memory loader for Nucleo-N6 board at address 0x70000000. Then, I switched BOOT-1 jumper to LOW and reset the board. The code runs as expected from external memory.Problem:I have N6 board connected to a remote PC and won’t always have physical access to toggle the BOOT1 jumper and press reset.I would like to know:Is there a programmatic or configuration-based way to run the program automatically after flashing, without needing to change the BOOT1 jumper man

Hello,I am using a STM32WL55 UFQFPN48 in an application. I am only using the high power output (up to +22 dBm) and only plan on transmitting with this device.I want to transmit in the 420-440 MHz range, but there does not seem to be any load-pull analysis data from within AN5457 which would give output impedance at this frequency. I can only find data for higher bands. Is this data found somewhere else? I would like to use it for simulation and calculation.Best

Hi,We were attempting to control a high-voltage BLDC motor using the EVSPIN32G06Q2S1 evaluation board. While following the Getting Started procedure described in UM3394, the board got  damaged during the power-up stage.Below are the steps we followed and the observations we made.Steps performedGenerated firmware using Motor Control Workbench.Flashed the firmware to the evaluation kit using the Nucleo board’s ST-Link.The digital section was powered using the 3.3 V supply from the ST-Link.Power-up observationsWhen only AC power was applied, the power stage turned ON, but the logic section was not powered. When VDD was supplied via ST-Link (3.3 V) and AC power was applied, the board was damaged:The 5 A fuse (F1) blew. The 0 Ω resistor (R29) burned.VDD and GND are now shorted.QuestionsCould someone clarify the correct power-up sequence for this board when using ST-Link for programming? What is the purpose of R29 shorting the logic ground and power ground ReferencesUser Manual: UM3394Eval

Hi, everyone.I'm trying to configure I2S in a STM32H523CET. I'd like to activate MCLK signal, but I can't find how. I'd also like activate external clock input for I2s (AUDIOCLK signal). The CubeMX says:"Audio Clock Input is not available. To enable it, one of the following RCC Mode(s) or IP(s) have to be configured from the Pinout TAb:-EnableExtClockForSAI1"But again, I can't find where to activate that.

Hi,  Im using the L9963E for a Battery Management System. I noticed that the device has a register called "FSMstatus". I don't understand if reports the current status or the previous status. For example, if the device is in SLEEP, in order to read the FSMstatus register, I have to wake it up, and the device goes to the NORMAL state. Now the FSMstatus reports the SLEEP or NORMAL state?  Unfortunately I cannot try the code.

Hello,I was working with STM32CubeIDE version 1.8.0 on a project. I just download version 1.9.0, trying to import the project. In the importation Wizard, when selecting the correct directory, the project name is displayed, but when clicking "Finish", the importation window close, and nothing append. Is this a known issue? Is there something to do to make it work?Thank youAntoine

Hello community ,I am going to do 9 axis sensor fusion (6axis accel and gyro + 3axis magnetometer) and got across to the MEMs-Studio suite. I've bought STEVAL-MKI109D for motherboard and STEVAL-MKI217V1 as the shield. STEVAL-MKI109V3 is out of stock at that time.I pluged the USB for STEVAL-MKI109D with mounted STEVAL-MKI217V1, but the STEVAL-MKI217V1 isn't recognised but was recognised as STEVAL-MKI197V1 instead. The features of 6axis are fine but I need to test the 3axis mag also. Here are my software setting.STEVAL-MKI109D firmware was updated to v 0.8.14MEMs Studio  1.4.2

Can you help me to finde the Part number in the foto BEV GP 344.

Hello everyone,I am developing a firmware for an **STM32U5** microcontroller using Azure RTOS (ThreadX / USBX). I am implementing a USB Composite Device with two classes: **CDC** (Virtual COM Port) and **MSC** (Mass Storage Class). The MSC is interfaced with an eMMC using an 8-bit bus for data communication.I am facing a persistent issue that I cannot seem to resolve: the device drops the USB connection after about 5 to 10 minutes of operation. By debugging the code, I noticed that the disconnection is triggered because the device eventually calls the HAL_PCD_DisconnectCallback() function. My main concern (and source of confusion) is that this behavior is highly OS-dependent. For instance, on my dual-boot PC, the device works flawlessly without a single disconnection on **Ubuntu 22.04**, but it consistently crashes/disconnects on **Windows**.### What I see on Windows (Event Viewer)Right before the disconnection occurs, Windows throws several SCSI timeout errors in the Event Viewer. Hello,I'm trying to start using STM32CubeIDE for VS Code 3.7.0I have tried to follow the instructions to set up an example project via STM32CubeMX and those to setup an empty project. In both cases I end up with an apparently unconfigurable project, seeing just this:Clicking on "Configure" does not result in a change.Just trying to build the project anyway results in CMake telling me that it cannot find the C Compiler. Any hint welcome. Many thanks,Titus
