Posted on May 31, 2018 at 16:58Hi everyone,I have a STM32F7 Discovery board and I would like to upload new firmware on it.I read AN2606 and AN4826, and I saw that it's possible to split the flash into two memory banks (nDBank = 0) and I can start either on one or the other bank using BOOT_ADD0.I have downloaded the extended_cube_dbank_f7 file that provide an example of dual bank boot. I followed every steps, which isn't hard, but I am still not able to boot on the second bank whether I change BOOT_ADD0.I have used STM32 Utility to configure my MCU (unchecked nDBank in Option Bytes, while nDBoot is still checked), I have programmed the two banks with different firmware @0x08000000 and @0x08100000. The BOOT_ADD0 parameter, under Boot adress option bytes section, has no effect whether I use 0x0080 or 0x0081. I can boot @0x08000000 but it seems like something goes wrong when I try to start @0x08100000!I followed the tutorial step by step, did I miss something?&nbs

Posted on June 04, 2018 at 10:30Hi.I'm using keil for programming a stm32 board. In the start up file .s there is a call to __main after the call to SystemInit. Where is the definition of __main? What's the difference between main and __main?

Posted on May 25, 2018 at 17:54Hello,I am using  EVAL-ST95HF board and would want to see the demodulated signal using the oscilloscope. There's a Test Point-ST1 on board. Is that the de-modulator output pin?I have attached an image for your reference. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.Thanks,Preetha#st95hf

Posted on June 03, 2018 at 21:53I've used the VCP with a ST32F746 Discovery board, which worked without problems.I now have a Nucleo-H743ZI and I cannot get it to work.I use Windows 7The virtual com port shows up in device manager as COM8.  I can open COM8 with PuTTY, but the application running in the board appears not to send anything.  When I remove the USB plug, device manager shows COM8 disappears and when I plug it in, COM8 shows up again. In the application, I am using USART3 as described in the Nucleo-144 manual.  I send data using the HAL_UART_Transmit() function with the handle address of &huart3.I know the code is running because the loop sends data and a 200 mSec HAL_Delay() with a LED toggle in the loop.  The LED toggles, so I can see that the program is running.  Just no data makes it to the PuTTY screen. The files for the project were generated as a makefile project with STM32CubeMX with my code added into main where the 'infinite loop' sectio

Posted on June 01, 2018 at 10:54Hi there,we are now facing a new chapter of progress for our sensor. Our sensor generates data (8bit arrays) and they want to be stored on the device. On our custom board we built-in a QSPI-Nor Flash memory (IS25WPXXX256D) connected to the QSPI bus of the STM32F746VG like on the respective discovery board. Our distributor told us about this combination of tools to store the data:Usage of FreeRTOS, FatFS and USB mass storage (everything middleware) with wear leveling algorithm to increase lifetime. But we think this sounds like much overhead for our little sensor. Currently we are not using any OS and we want to keep it like that. So what would be the best way to read from and write to the memory without having an OS? Also is there a more simple solution for the data management with a lookup table or something like that instead of using FatFS?I guess we are not the only ones facing this issue. I think the qspi-nor flash market will grow fast the next

Posted on May 31, 2018 at 16:19hello, can you help me please, to have in assembler an array of more then 16 bytes. i tryed this 'table dc.b  $ff,...........$FF,' but it just accept max 16 bytes, my question is how can i reach for example 255 bytes , many thanks#

Posted on May 30, 2018 at 20:58Hi all,     I have a really weird problem, no matter what I do the M24SR creates a 1s sqaure wave on the GPO pin and when I say 1 second it is excatly 500ms off and 500ms on.  I have set the GPO to be HIGH Impedance for both RF and I2C comms and it still does it, I have killed all power to it and then re-applied it and same difference. Its like I've managed to discover a test mode which is undocumented as far as I can tell. Has anyone found this before and if so how can I get the device out of this mode?  please find first bit of the system file data attachedThanks for lookingLuke

Posted on May 30, 2018 at 11:15Hi there, I am new to this community and recently started using STM32 mcus. There is still alot I do not know about this subject so please bear with me. I am trying to get familiar with using these mcus and would therefore makea simple datalogger using the STM32F072RBT6 in combination with the ADC MCP3903.While I found a library for arduino, I could not find anything for STM. http://www.kerrywong.com/2014/05/10/mcp3903-library/  -Does such a library exists? If not, Is it possible to convert it so that it can be used in the described combination?-If that does not work either, do you know of a different ADC with similar capabilities where libraries already exist?Thank you very much for your time and help.

Posted on May 01, 2018 at 22:37Hi,We are working with the CR95HF chip using SPI protocol. We get the correct response for echo, protocol set (1443-A) and IDn.However for a continuous SendAndRecv command with the value 0x04022607 we get the response 0x8300 which is unknown instead of 0x8700 since there is no tag in the field.Any recommendations with this issue ?Regards,Sid

Posted on May 30, 2018 at 12:18Good morning to everyone,I am developing a low power application on STM32L151RET6, the clock is generated by MSI @4.194 MHz. In this configuration I am experiencing some strange behaviour when I use the ADC synched by Timer4, in fact the resulting sample frequency seems not correct and if I change the source clock from MSI to HSE+PLL @6MHz the ADC even doesn't start (no ADC callback is invoked). If I configure the clock configuration using CubeMX (latest version 4.25.1) surprisingly it warns me that APB1 clock must be >= 10MHz.If I look at the STM32L151RET datasheet, table 13, paragraph 6.3.1 (page 61, rev.9) the section 'General operating conditions' reports that the min and max values of APB1 clock frequency should be from 0 to 32Mhz.So, is there a real limitation on minimum APB1 clock frequency? I read again the STM32L1X Reference Manual but nothing I could find out more.Thank you in advance.
