Hello STM32WL Expert,We have developed a custom PCB based on the "STM32WL_QFN48_4Layers_Ref_Board" reference design with STM32WL55CCU6 MCU. It is based on high power and high-frequency configuration. LoRa transmission is handled through the FE_CTRL_2 pin for data transmission and receiving. We are using 32MHz crystal at OSC_IN and OSC_OUT pins. As per reference manual (RM0453) point 5.4.2, the load capacitors are provided by the integratedcapacitor banks that can be trimmed. The trimming is provided by SUBGHZ_HSEINTRIMR and SUBGHZ_HSEOUTRIMR registers.SUBGRF_WriteRegister( REG_XTA_TRIM, XTAL_DEFAULT_CAP_VALUE); SUBGRF_WriteRegister( REG_XTB_TRIM, XTAL_DEFAULT_CAP_VALUE);We have developed the same application on the NUCLEO-WL55JC1 development board and it is working well. The same LoRa communication is not working with custom PCB. Will you please help us to debug the issue?Best Regards,Neel

Hello,After generating my ucf file that I load to my LIS2DUX12 and verify that it works, I wanted to load the generated configuration through a microcontroller so I used the option in Unico GUI to generate the header file which later on I need to include in my project. After analyzing the content of the commands that is sending, I noticed that is sending commands to addresses not listed in the datasheet neither displayed in Unico GUI. This concerns me as these could be reserved registers and then damage the accelerometer:Reviewing the datasheet, the highest address described is 0xB7:Could you point me what is then wrong? Is it the documentation and Unico GUI or the generated file?

I have STM32CubeIDE C project already running for an application.I am planning to integrate a GIT submodule (CPP code) for proprietary communication. Is it possible to add the CPP module into existing C project and run? Please assist.

Hello :)I'm am working with a Nucleo WB55 and I am trying to use the ADC. I assume that the reference voltage used for the conversion is equal to 3.6V because I think that this is the default settings and because when I connect 3.3V to the 12 bits ADC input, I only get about 4040/4095.  I saw on other posts that a configuration panel is available for VREF BUFF, but it doesn't exist in my STM32CubeMX  even if I can  choose VREF BUFF as an output on VREF+ pin. Here is my pinout view where I can choose VREF+ as VREFBUF_OUT : Here is the panel of someone else where VREF BUFF can be configured : Finally here is mine where I can't configure VREF BUFF : My question is : the microcontroller i use allows to use VREF BUFF but I can't configure it in STM32CubeMX. Can someone help me on that? Thanks a lot,Fanny

I'm using my V3PWR probe for weeks now... but this morning it refuses to work. It was working yesterday evening with the same setup. When I connect to the USB-C cable, no led at all , no USB enumeration ... nothing !! I changed the cable without success.Where could I find the hardware schematics to have a chance to track the fault ?Is there a point of failure already identified on these probes ?

Hello community ,I have programmed stm32g030k06t6 MCU has SPI Slave . When trying to communicate with master for 10 times , 6 times checksum is getting failed and 4 times it is getting passed .Master is sending 9 bytes of data i.e 0x1,0x2,0x3,0x4,0x5,0x6,0xc9,0x00,0x3 . when checksum is getting failed it is getting saved in buffer in following order 0x3,0x1,0x2,0x3,0x4,0x5,0x6,0xc9,0x00. one byte is getting shifted in rx_buffer when storing Inorder to analyse the problem , i am copying rx_buffer to tx_buffer in order to analyse better where snaps are attached below .kindly suggest    /******************************************************************************/ /*! \brief Handles an NSS interrupt to prepare and terminate SPI transfers. * \param void * \return void *******************************************************************************/ void mb_spi_slave_interrupt_nss(void) { /* EXTI0 line interrupt detected */ if (__HAL_GPIO_EXTI_GET_IT((uint3

Hello,I'm planning to design a motor driver using the STSPIN32 IC on the evaluation board EVSPIN32F02Q1S1 and was going through the schematic when I noticed this current sensing circuit:I understand that R34, 36, and 111 are used as single shunt sensing, but I don't get why what the point of having R33 and C22, are they for some form of biasing?I'm also unsure of the function of R38 and R57.Basically, can someone explain what the point of having R33, C22, R38, and R57 as part of current sensing circuit?

Hi teams,I want to use IAR(8.50)to develop STM8S103F2 series chip, but i can not find this chip at IAR setting, so how should I can do? download STM8S103 lib or others？thanks！

Hi, I want to ask about is it possible to probe MISO output of ST25R3916 to read the data or UID for ST25R3916 Discovery Board?Because I currently want to observe whether can differentiate the different tags by looking at the waveform.I had tried to probe the MISO and SCLK (Serial CLK) with Saleae logic analyzer (Logic 16), but the waveforms didn't meet my expectation. And I had discovered after the reader detected the tag, the waveform will change but only happened at the start phase, rest of the waveform phases went back to normal. Please take a look on the attached photo, thank you so much for helping!

I'm trying to use USART1 for Async however I cannot send data to the board. I'm using an FTDI USB-UART converter cable to test, the Nucleo is sending correct data my PC data no problem.I can prove my code and terminal program on the PC works 2 way with the USART2 and VCP via STLINK.When code is set to use USART1. USART1_Rx has nothing coming in.I saw a reference in the UM for USART1:"Only one USART is available and shared between ARDUINO® Nano and VCP. The selection is done by remapping (no need to change the hardware configuration)."I think there might be something I don't understand about this. I have done the "remapping" with cube MX to assign the default UART1 pins PA9&10.Any guidance is welcome on how to get Rx working.

Dears,I use STM32MP151FAD3 together with STPMIC1. Nowdays I monitored the voltage of vddcore and found it's not stable shown as below.Mostly it's around 1.2v while sometimes it's up to 1.33v .Referring to documentation, I guess it's casued by dynamic voltage and freqency scaling (DVFS). Is my thought correct? Also, is it a normal scenario? will the ustable vddcore have any inflence on EMC?

Hello all,We are currently considering using the VL53L4CD and other ToF / FlightSense products (e.g. the VL6180X) for close-proximity applications.Could you confirm or otherwise that the system field of view of the VL53L4CD - and other sensors based on the same technology and having similar emitter-receiver configurations - is the area of the SPAD receiver's field of view (FoV) that overlaps the VCSEL emitter's field of illumination (FoI), on the target's surface? (red area in picture attached)We have gone through the documentation available on https://www.st.com/en/imaging-and-photonics-solutions/vl53l4cd.html, especially the datasheet and application note AN5894, however we have not found this detail documented.Confirming this would lead to understanding better the spatial resolution capabilities of the sensor(s).We have created some renders to accompany this case and und thus help you understand better what we are asking about. Please refer to the pictures attached. Thanks for your t

HiMany CAN messages are flowing on the CAN bus.I would like to receive only ID 0x5C0 among these. Please let me know the suitable settings to receive only 0x5C0 as a hardware filter without any software intervention, without any load on the MCU.I wrote the code below. Naturally, I think ID mask mode is better.I don't understand the settings for sFilterConfig.FilterMaskIdHigh and sFilterConfig.FilterMaskIdLow.Is this correct? void    CanFilterConfig ( uint8_t filterNum, uint8_t fifoNum, uint32_t canId ){    CAN_FilterTypeDef sFilterConfig;    sFilterConfig.FilterBank           = filterNum;    sFilterConfig.FilterMode           = CAN_FILTERMODE_IDMASK;    sFilterConfig.FilterScale          = CAN_FILTERSCALE_32BIT;    sFilterConfig.FilterIdHigh         = canId << 5;    sFilterConfig.FilterIdLow       &

I am using STM32H750VB 100 pin package controller and want to interface 800x480 LCD having 16bpp RGB interface with it. Its single frame buffer storage amounts to 750 KB ((800*480*2 bytes)/1024) and at a go only 512KB (AXI SRAM -maximum contiguous memory available ) can be allocated for it, although controller having 1MB of RAM. As here in this scenario, continuous 750KB can't be allocated for frame buffer, switching from internal to external RAM is advised in this application note. I am aware of the fact that I can reduce the bpp or frame buffer size to meet the memory requirements, in that manner I won't be needing the external memory but I want to use the actual frame buffer storage size and not the reduced one.(Correct me about my understanding regarding the frame buffer storage allocation, external memory or any mentioned opinion here.) Referring from the TouchGFX article about external memory selection and selecting the RAM type from STM32Cube IDE, multiplexed PSRAM was the only

Hello ! I've been wondering how DMA works in UART. I've checked some codes for example HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA(). I know it is set to sned 8 bit to peripheral. But I wondered when DMA knows that UART sent 8 bit when it is TX DMA or recevied 8 bit when it is in RX DMA. In this case it is TX. I've checked what HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA() does :  And there was this HAL_DMA_Start_IT(). So it works that DMA sends it's data from memory to UART TX registers. Ok. So tmp is the memory we have the data, and the Instance-> DR is the register the data must be sent. So where exactly there is info about turning on the UART to transmit data, and when does the DMA know that UART sent 8 bit and is ready to send another 8 bits ? I've also noticed this :  But I don't understand what it does ? It turn on the UART transmit ? Sorry for being to picky I was quite a bit confused due to the fact that in HAL_UART_Transmit there is a while which has a counter t

Hi everyone! My disappointment has reached the level where I write about it. Mostly to find a way to navigate the  ecosystem or to find an alternative. My initial idea was to move from Atmel 8-bits towards something more powerful. Usecase is automotive, where normal STMs are not at home. But..there was this new thing: SPC5. It took me days to figure out that the install videos where outdated and SPC5 Studio is not needed for Auto dev kit anymore. Several installations later I was able to click my way half through it but was totally stuck with UDE and the concept of it being something 3rd party that was no part of the IDE. Entering the pitfalls of eclipse (man what is this? Its awfully cluttered, buggy and inconvenient) I spend a few days learning that the pinmap editor must be closed in order to generate proper code, that the dark mode does not work -no matter what I try. The documentation is everywhere and nowhere. Is it in the devboard description? Or maybe some ot

The examples are a great resource to get started. But it looks like when making changes to an example it does not only safe in the working folder. It also safes (or changes) the original. After playing a lot with one example I wanted to just delete it from my working folder and import a new fresh one, unchanged. I thought thats why there is an import function for examples, right? But- it is not the original anymore, it always shows my changes after importing a new one. So- if I dont want a complete reinstall of the whole devkit- any ideas where I can find the examples for download and fresh install?

Hello Community, given is this circuit:Typically when I use external pullup circuitry for a signal I set the corresponding GPIO to "Open Drain" and no pullup/-down as the state of the line is defined externally.Flash_CSn is directly connected to PB4 on an G431RB. It is a single, simple almost straight trace on the PCB, without any branches. There is nothing but EMV that could have an influence on that line, except the MCU and the Resistor (R2) + Supply Voltage. But in the Scope I see no evidence for a potential EMV issue, as the signal levels are pretty clean. In this case the GPIO-Config is: The issue is: if I do it this way the line level never reaches 3.3V as it should, but reaches max. 1.2 Volt.If I change the GPIO Configuration to Push-Pull it works as it it's supposed to work. I noticed this behaviour also on an G473RC. On this board I was able to disconnect the external ADC reference, which is generated at 2.5 Volt by a CJ431. When I disconnected the ADC Reference physic

What is the best way to use sscanf with uint8_t?When I use: uint8_t x ; char* y = "23" ; sscanf ( y , "%hhu" , &x ) ;I stuck at: void HardFault_Handler(void) I found following workaround that works: uint16_t x1 ; uint8_t x2 ; const char* y = "23" ; sscanf ( y , "%hu" , &x1 ) ; x2 = (uint8_t) x1 ;but it doesn't look best. So what is the right way of processing uint8_t in above case?V/ryabool2001

Hi,I'm looking for C Software library for Battery Management System ST L9963.My setup:IDE: SPC5StudioMCU: SPC570SxxPlease, where can I find this library?ThanksLeo

We have a BMS board with SPC574S64 Controller and L9963E as BMS ICI am trying to communicate with the BMS IC via Direct/Normal SPI modeI have done the necessary HW connections properly and ensured the SPI lines are proper.I am trying to communicate with the L9963E but I donot see any response from it, some time I see all response as FF or 00once in a while I saw a frame on the data bus as 0x0000000016 which is a wakeup frame, but I am not sure what is missing for the chip to respond, here are the command sequence I send on the Bus as per the data sheetI have only one BMS IC for now on the board which is connected to the SPC574S64 via direct SPI linesBroad Cast frame to 0xC0040C1040500us delayRead back frame 0x8286000000I am not seeing any response from the L9963E.even I tried sending the rest of the frames on the bus, but still no responseI have seen once there is a response of 0x00000016 - default wakeup frame, but later I didn't see any responsePlease let me know if any worked on thi

We have a BMS board with SPC574S64 Controller and L9963E as BMS ICI am trying to communicate with the BMS IC via Direct/Normal SPI modeI have done the necessary HW connections properly and ensured the SPI lines are proper. Now I have a question:1. the SPC574S64 controller is Big endian and the L9963E is little endian as per the data sheets registers how they were representedI have captured the SPI sequence via logic analyzer, I am trying to send the broad cast frame with data as 0xC0040C1040           C0 04 0C 10 40Byte    4    3    2   1   0As the LSB [40] shall be the first/zero th  byte on the bus and MSB [C0] shall be the last one to go the busThis is how the data looks on the busPlease let me know if this understanding and observations are correct as per the endianness of both the controllers

HiI am trying to configure SPI communication between L9963E and SPC574S64E3I referred the DSPI example in the latest SPC5StudioI could see the baud rate is configured to 1Mbps, 16kb and 26kb But as per the L9963E Spec the baud rate is either 333kbps or 2.5MbpsI tried with all the baud rate prescalars I could see more than 1.5MbpsKIndly suggest, how to configure for L9963E chipsetThank you for your support

I needed info on CRC calculation as well.

Hi,I am trying to communicate with BMS IC on our developed board and I donot see the communication happening with BMS IC despite of following all the instructions I have a L9963E BMS Eval board for reference,I have tapped out the SPI frames on the bus to see the dataI could see for the 5 byte of frame data 4 bytes are going first and 2 byte is going after a delay of around 2.2 us when I have fed the SPI  API spi_lld_exchange with 5 bytes the data goes out in one after the other continouslyIs there any specific reason why the data is send in this way?I do not see any specific section mentioning any where in L9963E data sheet regarding this?Kindly let me know what could be the reason for this do I need to send the data in this way? Also I could see the clock frequency is varying in between 8MHz and 12MHz if see the clock in the image it is not pulsated at same frequency
