Hi,I would like to know what is max number of SPI slaves I can connect to a single SPI bus of STM32F779? I understand that using the chip select pin I can select respective slaves to operate. But is ther eany recommendation from ST that ideally , I should not exceed this number due to various factors like loading etc. I have 6 devices to be connected. Either I will connect all 6 to 1 bus or 3 devices acorss 2 busses.

I'm bringing up a new board using a STM32H7A3. I've developed, downloaded, debugged and run lots of test programs from the VisualGDB IDE.  Now I'm working on the main application. I can still develop, download, debug and run from VisualGDB but when I exit VisualGDB, power down the board and repower it, the program doesn't seem to start up.  Almost the very first thing the main app does is blink a LED and that's not happening after powering down and powering back up. VisualGDB has a simple HAL based Blinky example built in and as a test, I built this example and it works fine both from VGDB and after powering down and back up.If I set a break point at the first line of code in my main app and look at the disassembled code, it starts running at memory location 0x08020DF8.  The Blinky app starts at 0X08000348.  Both of those memory locations are in the Flash memory space according to the reference manual so I'm pretty sure both programs are running from Flash memory.I'

Hi friends from community. I have a question about the paragraph about DMA section from STM32F0x1 reference manual page 200, as showed below:I don't know how to understand the red highlight part of above picture, why there says <these ‘memory’ register, field and bit are used to define the source peripheral in peripheral-to-peripheral mode>, rather than <... in memory-to-memory mode>?or <... in memory-to-peripheral mode>?or <... in peripheral-to-memory mode>?I can not get the point where the author want to tell me from the red highlight part of above picture.

Hi,I have imported a stm32 project from Git Hub that was there from 2 years ago to my stm32cudeide but when I try to build using internal builder: I get this error message:Info: Internal Builder is used for buildarm-none-eabi-gcc "..\\..\\..\\..\\..\\..\\..\\..\\Drivers\\BSP\\X-NUCLEO-IHMxx\\x_nucleo_ihmxx.c" -mcpu=cortex-m4 -std=gnu11 -g3 -DUSE_HAL_DRIVER -DSTM32F401xE -DUSE_STM32F4XX_NUCLEO -DNUCLEO_F401RE -DSTM32F401RETx -DSTM32 -DSTM32F4 -DDEBUG -c -I../../../Inc -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/BSP/STM32F4xx-Nucleo -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/BSP/X-NUCLEO-IHMxx -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/BSP/Components/Common -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/BSP/Components/l6474 -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/CMSIS/Include -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/CMSIS/Device/ST/STM32F4xx/Include -I../../../../../../../../Drivers/STM32F4xx_HAL_Driver/Inc -O0 -ffunction-sections -Wall -fstack-usage -mfpu=fpv4-sp-d16 -mfloat-abi=hard -mthumb -o "Drivers\\BSP\\X-NUCLEO-IHMxx\\x_nucleo_ihmx

I am using STM32CubeProgrammer v2.6.0 with STLINKV3-SET and STLINKV2 without any trouble.   I have recently bought some STLINKV3-MINIE debug/programming probes but STM32CubeProgrammer does consider it "too recent" and I can not use them. I can not program with it, neither to update it. I just need to program a binary file. No debug. No SWO. Just SWDIO/SWCLK. Windows does detect it, and I can program with it using Simulink Embedded Coder Support Package, but I can not use it with STM32CubeProgrammer. Any tip for the easiest way to keep CubeProgrammer v2.6.0 (I need it for other toolchain) while being able to program (fast) a binary using STLINKV3-MINIE? I am deepening in a MSYS2 OpenOCD toolchain / VSC for STM32 for programing .elf/.bin files, but I should deepen about .cfg and .svd files for my microcontroller (STM32G474). I was also considering using IAR or Keil MDK, but I think it is to use a hammer to crack a nut, as I only want to program a binary file. Thank you in adva

I just received the STEVAL-MKI109V3 kit and it appears to be useless so far.The Unico-GUI tool sees the main board but cannot see the sensor plugged into it. I measured the VDD_DUT and VDDDIO_DUT nets and there is no voltage. But maybe that is supposed to be enabled by the gui app?I tried to update the firmware on this board as well and the CubeProgrammer just says the file exceeds the device size or something like that. Anything else I should try before returning this thing?

The schemes of a production circuit are given to me from another designer for being analyised. PCB board is a STM32F103VC based circuit. When I was looking at the bootloader circuitry scheme I saw how RS232 bus seems to be connected to the UART1 microcontroller port.  This circuitry implements BOOT1 and BOOT0 connections. These pins are two bit combination that allows different boot option, depending of logic levels there. "There is one of the boot option, known as embedded bootloader, that allows FLASH reprograming using UART1 port", datasheet says.Up to here, seems to be clear and correct. But diving a bit more I looked for what pins where exactly connected here, and they were these by one side (RX and TX on P9:P10:( And these by the other side:But if you look at datasheet tables you can see how PE0 and PE1 pins can only be GPIO floating inputs or they can be FSCM NABLx pins.I think they should be here (PA11 and PA12) instead; because datasheet doesn't sh

Can you explain to me the difference between the features object inside the motorDrives object, compared to the standalone features object? Most object inside motorDrives make sense as a Feature of the motor drive itself, but not all. We're using the B-G431B-ESC1 board JSON for reference. For example the TemperatureSensing feature, what would happen if I put this into the standalone features object instead?Or vice versa, with the ElectronicSpeedControl feature, why is this in the standalone features object even though it is directly related to the motorDrives functionality?I cannot make sense of the logic behind this right now.

I want to be able to continuously adjust the phase of a timer output via input capture on another signal. I do not want the timer to be automatically triggered or reset by the external signal because I want some processing in the loop to determine how to react to the input capture value. The course I am taking right now is to adjust TIMx->CNT. The problem is that I am experiencing somewhat nondetermistic delays in reading/writing the count at my desired timer clock frequency such that something like TIMx->CNT-- or even TIMx->CNT = TIMx->CNT actually adjusts the phase by 8-12 counts based on input capture and scoped output. Is there a better way to more deterministically down- or up- adjust the timer count than essentially reading and writing back the CNT value?

Hello.I am working with a vl53l1x sensor and i need to know if this sensor report a distance when the target is not detected and the measurement is valid, like the vl53l3cx sensor that report back 8191. Does this sensor report the same number or other number in this condition? Or does not report back anything when this happen?

How can I power the STM32L476RG board via the EH pin of the ST25DV? Is there a module for this?

Hi,I am planning to use STM32F030C8 in my design without external  crystal. I will use HSI as clock. Can I use I2C1 (PB8, PB9) and I2C2 (PB10, PB11) with HSI?  Thank you for the help,

Hello,I just created a CubeMX project and tried to create a timer handler/ I am getting bellow error.../Src/main.c:46:1: error: unknown type name 'TIM_HandleTypeDef'; did you mean 'I2C_HandleTypeDef'? TIM_HandleTypeDef htimer2;Here is the code:  #include "main.h" #include "stm32h7xx_hal.h"         UART_HandleTypeDef huart2; TIM_HandleTypeDef htimer2;   void SystemClock_Config(void); static void MX_GPIO_Init(void); static void MX_USART2_UART_Init(void); void GPIO_Init(void); void LSE_Config(void);     char *data = "Hello world, I made it using STM32 ARM Cortex M7!\r\n";       int main(void) {   HAL_Init(); SystemClock_Config(); MX_GPIO_Init(); GPIO_Init(); MX_USART2_UART_Init();   char msg[100]; char *user_data = "Hello world, I made it using STM32 ARM Cortex M7!\r\n"; if (HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t*)user_data,strlen(user_data), HAL_MAX_DELAY) != HAL_OK) { // Error occurred Error_Handler()

I'm having trouble understanding what the instruction below wants me to do..... It says: "Solder R47". -On which board?-Solder it where?-What value is the resistor?

Hey. I'm trying to create a program that receives 4 bytes long strings from my pc and transfer them through an spi connection to a peripheral device, throught a usb connection.I've set my stm32 nucleo board up as a usb device and generated the required file. The thing that i noticed though is that i could use the cdc_transmit_hs function inside the main.c super loop, if declared as extern, but i couldn't do the same with the receive counterpart. The only thing that i tried and seemed to work is echoing the data inside the receive function, meaning :static int8_t CDC_Receive_HS(uint8_t* Buf, uint32_t *Len) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 11 */ USBD_CDC_SetRxBuffer(&hUsbDeviceHS, &Buf[0]); USBD_CDC_ReceivePacket(&hUsbDeviceHS); uint8_t rxMessage[40]={'\0'}; sprintf(rxMessage, "Command is %c,%d,%d,%d\r\n",Buf[0],Buf[1], Buf[2], Buf[3] ); CDC_Transmit_HS(rxMessage,sizeof(rxMessage)); return (USBD_OK); /* USER CODE END 11 */ }Is there an actual way to use this function inside the m

Hi community ,I'm currently working on STM32H747I DISCO0 Board .The peripheral I'm using is QSPI, I'm able to read/write and also enter Xip mode in CM7 .Problem:1)QSPI does not work in CM4 .Need to access QSPI in CM4 and perform same operations as read/write and Xip mode .2)Please specify the Steps to be taken to work on CM4 for QSPI.Details:CubeIDE :Version: 1.12.1CubeMX :6.10.0Thank you and regards UJWAL KUMAR N L

Hi, I have been working with the B-G431-ESC1 for some time.I profiled my motor with ST Profiler and loaded the .JSON file on Workbench and generated the code.My final goal is to be able to control the speed of my motor by sending a PWM signal to the motorcontroller, which more or less already works. But i have two problems at the moment:What could be the reason why my BLDC motor, which is in the RUN state (i.e. running without any problems), goes to the IDLE state after a certain time without any command being given? On ST Motor Pilot, I don't have any errors displayed that could guide me to the potential cause.how to choose the good sensorless startup parameters for our motor startup?  thank you for your suggestions.

I am developing a device using the nucleo-f429zit6 evaluation board as a reference. This device has an Ethernet communication function, and the Ethernet communication function was tested by directly connecting this device to the server using a cross-Ethernet cable. Currently, after a command is delivered to the device from the server, the response from the device arrives at the server late. As an example, I checked the server's response to a ping command, and the initial response took about 2 seconds. I'd like to know how to improve this response so that it comes out quickly, within 1 second. The current device's slow Ethernet communication response speed Below is the clock speed of the hardware used by the device, the firmware version currently being used, and the version of LwIP.

Hello, I am using MB1054B board with STSW-95HF002 software package to develop my own application to read ISO14443A NFC tag. In the STSW-95HF002 software package there are several functions that read/write data from the tag. But the data read from the tag is all in numbers. The NFC tag I am reading is sending a character string as data. I can read the data using STSW-95HF001 development software but when I tried reading it from the my own program using CR95HF.dll, the data I get is all in numbers. How can I interpret that data to exactly re-form the character string? Can you direct me to some resources which you can refer to me? Any short example codes? :) My another concern is, do I have to always Initialize, config, increase demo gain, etc to read the NFC tag? Each time I want to read the tag, do I have to follow these steps? Or is there any other way? Any help would be appreciated :)best,

Hello everyone,New to the world of STM32 and moving from Arduino programming to more in-deep STM32 one, I faced an issue that I solved in a way I can't understand.I started working on a basic Blink program using STM32WB5MM-DK and the in-board RGB PWM led. I understood a little bit late that i had to configure the interrupts and clocks but well, that's how we learn. But I still don't understand - at least - one thing. In the Clock Configuration (.ioc file) I can't get a working program if the system clock is set less to 48MHz and after some iterations, I discovered that it was in fact the APB2 timer clock that had to be at least 48MHz. In the datasheet(s) I can't find any indication on this critical value. Is there any logic behind this value ? Or is it a side effect of something that I have not already understood ?  My program is pretty similar to the led.c code in BSP example Thanks !

Now I want to make a poller using ST25R3920B.Main mcu is communicating with spi.I tried to turn it to task after initialize, but there was an error in rfalFieldOnAndStartGT() and I followed the code ret = st25r3916PerformCollisionAvoidance( ST25R3916_CMD_INITIAL_RF_COLLISION, ST25R3916_THRESHOLD_DO_NOT_SET, ST25R3916_THRESHOLD_DO_NOT_SET, (ST25R3916_REG_AUX_nfc_n_mask & gRFAL.timings.nTRFW) );   st25r3916ExecuteCommand( FieldONCmd );   There is an error in the upper part.  When I checked using printf(), the previous line of that line was printed, but the software continues to restart.I think ST25R3916_CMD_INITIAL_RF_COLLISION Direct Command seems to be a problem. But I don't know why this is related to reset (reboot)...Has anyone experienced any of these or similar issues?

Hi Team,If anyone has, could you please share the application note for the Motor control Applications for NUCLEO-G431RB and X-NUCLEO-IHM16M1.If anyone has the block diagram of the FOC also, Please share

I created a new .ioc project with STM32CubeIDE 1.14.0.  I did the same with 1.12.0 with the same results.  When I build and debug the project and run to a breakpoint after all initialization is complete, when I examine memory at 0xd0000000 the frame returns all ??????????.  I made no changes except to change FreeRTOS to reentrant.  If I install code to write to 0xd0000000 and read it back I get a hard fault. The hardware is good since if I do the same thing loading the LTDC_Paint example I see the frame buffer data at 0xd0000000.Any ideas?
