Can variable values be stored in some fixed addresses of internal flash and retrieved from them after reset? is there any example for same.

Good morning everyone,I am trying to modify a bootloader that is already in production and working. My problem is that if I call the JumpToApplication() function right after peripheral initialization (as the production bootloader does), everything works perfectly. However, if I call it from within the infinite loop or even after exiting the loop, as you can see from the attached code, the jump does not work.I can't explain why.Additionally, I wanted to ask two more things:Is it necessary to define the array volatile uint32_t stack_arr[30]? I have never seen it in any bootloader. In the statement pmain_app = (void (*)(void)) * (APPLICATION_START_ADDRESS + 1); I see that there is a +1 at the end, but in various examples, I always see +4. Yet it still works!!!Can you give me some advice?Thank you.    #include "main.h" #include "dma.h" #include "fatfs.h" #include "spi.h" #include "usb_host.h" #include "gpio.h" #include "crc.h" extern HCD_HandleTypeDef hhcd_USB_OTG_FS; ext

We got the STM32MP157F-EV1 and struggle a bit with the understanding of OTPs. We cloned the STM32PRGFW-UTIL repository [1], put the dip switches into "forced USB boot for flashing" mode (all off) and uploaded the provided image: STM32PRGFW-UTIL\Projects\STM32MP15xx\Binary> stm32_programmer_cli -c port=usb1 -w .\FlashLayout_STM32PRGFW_UTIL.tsv That works great and we can query a register like this: stm32_programmer_cli -c port=usb1 -otp displ word=93 We then tried writing to it: > stm32_programmer_cli -c port=usb1 -otp write word=93 value=0xF0 and querying again shows the correct value: | Data93 : 0x000000F0 | Status93 : 0x00000000 We tried writing a second time with a similar value > stm32_programmer_cli -c port=usb1 -otp write word=93 value=0xF1 and the value changed as expected: | Data93 : 0x000000F1 | Status93 : 0x00000000 Then we wrote 0xF0, 0xF1 and 0x01 again just to see what happens. The Register still rea

Hello,I want to read which stack is updated in my controller. For example stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_extended_fw / stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_light_fw / stm32wb5x_BLE_Zigbee_RFD_static_fw. So can I read back the stack name using code? Is there any way to read the stack name? For reading the Stack version I am using this "SHCI_GetWirelessFwInfo" function. is there any function available to read the stack name? Thanks and Regards Sarthak Malik

Hello,I am trying to use the I3C interface between STM32H563ZI in MB1404 board and NXP's temperature sensor P3T1085UK. I have found a question would like to be answered: Is there any way to send the IBI header (7'h7E) with SCL signal configured in I2C timing characteristics?According to MIPI I3C Basic specification v1.1.1, page 33, table 3, note 3, It is expecting an I3C / I2C capable target having a switchable 50ns spick filter and the swtich is triggered by the IBI header (7'h7E).I have selected the "Bus Characteristics" as "Mixed I3C and I2C" and "I2C Duty Cycle" to be 50% in stm32cubeIDE's "Pinout & Configuration -> Connectivity -> I3C1", It generates the code with "hi3c1.Init.CtrlBusCharacteristic.SCLI2CHighDuration = 0x7c;", which seens fine. But when I run the function "HAL_I3C_Ctrl_DynAddrAssign", I found the waveform is different, the SCL high duration is actually controlled by the parameter "SCLI3CHighDuration", shown below.the SCL pulse is around 50ns and

Hi,I am new to STM32 MCUs and working on a small project at the moment. I following the reference manual but facing an issue that as soon as I enable ADC in CR, the MCU stops responding. I have attached the following code if someone could guide on what is wrong or missed in it. Further, HSI has been used for clocking the MCU.Appreciated!    // Enable Clock to GPIOA RCC->AHBENR |= GPIOA_EN; // PA5 as analog input GPIOA->MODER |= (1U<<10); GPIOA->MODER |= (1U<<11); // Enable Clock to ADC RCC->APB2ENR |= ADC_EN; /* HSI14 RC Oscillator Enable Procedure */ //RCC->CR2 |= RCC_CR2_HSI14ON; ADC1->CFGR2 |= (1U<<30); ADC1->CFGR2 &= ~(1U<<31); /* while ((RCC->CR2 & RCC_CR2_HSI14RDY) ==0) { } */ /* ADC Enable Procedure */ if ((ADC1->ISR & ADC_ISR_ADRDY) != 0) { ADC1->ISR |= ADC_ISR_ADRDY; } ADC1->CR |= ADC_CR_ADEN; // STM Halts after this while ((ADC1->ISR & ADC_ISR_ADRDY) ==

The EMC cutoff frequency of ST25R3911B is defined as 11.75MHz with L= 270 nH, C= 680p. However, the antenna resonates at 13.56MHz. I can understand if the cutoff frequency is defined between 14 -18 MHz to suppress the 2rd harmonic mode. Could you give some idea why you select the 11.75MHz, how the 13.56MHz signal transfer the filter?

Hi,I am new to the STM32 world and currently working on the following application on a STM32F103CBT6 @72MHz:1. Collect data from I2C sensor triggered from external interrupt @800Hz2. Read commands (MODBUS RTU) from USART and respond.I set up the uC with STM32CubeMX.ISR for Task 1 is simply:  HAL_I2C_Mem_Read_IT (adxl343_i2c_handle, adxl343_i2c_addr<<1,ADXL343_ACCEL_ZOUT_REG,1, d, 2); I do not even bother doing anything with the data in uint8_t d[2].ISR for Task 2, HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback() is: modb_rx_buff_head = (modb_rx_buff_head+1)%MODB_RX_BUFF_SIZE; HAL_UART_Receive_IT(&huart2, &(modb_rx_buff[modb_rx_buff_head]), 1); ISR for Task 2, HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback() is: // Clear the TX_EN pin on the RS485 interface IC HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_1, GPIO_PIN_RESET); There are no common variables between both tasks.Task 1 alone works perfectly (checked w/ oscrilloscope).Task 2 alone works perfectly .Task1 + Task2 : uC hangs (either immed

I'm a bit of a novice at programming, but I'm trying to develop an application that sends a continuous stream of data out of the USART using DMA, taking advantage of the DMA Transfer Half-Complete, and Transfer-Complete interrupts.  I've got a circular DMA USART transmission working, but when I enable either of the interrupts, my code goes into an InfiniteLoop: handler.  I'm using a BluePill (STM32F103C8) and writing in VSCode / PlatformIO with the Arduino-ststm32 framework.I can't figure out how to tell the code where I want it to go when either of these interrupts fire.I'm doing a lot of this programming "bare-metal" because I don't really know how to determine what core and/or library tools I have available to utilize.  I see a lot of examples on the internet, but invariably they are using a different setup (framework etc) than I am, so their code doesn't really port to my IDE.Help?!Here is my code (couldn't figure out how to attach it)#include <Arduino.h

I'm using an STM43H755 (on a NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q) and I need to send pixels to an external LCD module (320x240, 8bit MCU bus on ILI9341 controller, 3.3V compatible).I've used plenty of single core MCUs like F0, F4, F7 and others from ST in the past but It's my first contact with this dual core MCU, so perhaps I'm missing some initialization or code down the path..I'm focusing on access time and performance so I'm using the FMC on the LCD 1 bank, with Register Select on A8, Chip Select on NE1, 8 bit data on [A0..A7], Write Operation enabled, Write FIFO enabled, Extended mode disabled, FMC bank mapping is set to Default.Speculation default mode, MPU, I-Cache and D-Cache on the M7 core are disabled, MPU on the M4 core is disabled. No other peripherals are enabled except: 3 GPIO outputs for the leds on the Nucleo, 1 GPIO input from the blue button, 1 GPIO output for the LCD reset. The main 8 MHz clock is taken from the debugger, M7 clock is 400 MHz, M4 clock is 200 MHz, FMC clock is 20

Hello Community, I am new here and new to this field as well. I am currently using the VL53L8CH Lidar Sensor which has a MZAI some GUI tool to access and save data logs along with some visualizations of the data.I am currently doing some experimentation with the sensor and trying to understand the output data. I have the excel file through which I am accessing the CNH data.1. What does the CNH data even mean, why are some values -ve in it, the CNH plot provided by the BUI doesnt show any -ve values but the graph there is all in the +ve axes? My Experiment: Placing a flat white reflective square object at around 5 feet along with another larger flat white square object at 2 bins apart behind object 1 (considering the bin width to be around 222mm as the sensor is in 8x8 mode and the number of bins is 18 over the 4000mm range of the sensor). My Findings: When I drew histograms/bar graphs of these CNH values for the zones that were illuminated for Object 1 (the smaller objec

Hi!I am writing a bootloader for an STM32H7S3L8, that received the application binary over UART and places it into flash, specifically on address 0x08008000, and I am getting hard faults when jumping to the address. If I "install" the application AND bootloader through STM32CubeIDE with SWD, I can successfully jump from the bootloader to the application at runtime. Even if I copy all the application bytes from flash to a RAM section, I can successfully jump to the application and execute it there (from RAM).But as soon as I am trying to execute from flash that during that runtime session has been erased and then written to, I get hard faults. I even tried just copying the application bytes to ram, erase the flash and copy the application bytes back to the same memory location, and execution from there doesn't work. From googling around, I suspect that the D and/or I cache might be the problem. I can disable I cache, but I can't disable D cache, then I'm not able to write and read from fl

Hello.I am developing a UART bootloader. Currently developing it on the Nucleo H7S3L8 that sports the STM32H7S3L8 microcontroller, 65K flash, ~450K something RAM.I have implemented the ol' JumpToApplication pattern that can be found all over the internet: typedef void (*pFunction)(void); #define FLASH_APP_START_ADDRESS ((uint32_t)0x8008000U) #define BOOTLOADER_START_ADDRESS ((uint32_t)0x8000000U) // Just for testing void JumpToApp(void) { const uint32_t jump_address = *(__IO uint32_t*) (FLASH_APP_START_ADDRESS + 4U); const pFunction jump_to_application = (pFunction) jump_address; SCB->VTOR = FLASH_APP_START_ADDRESS; uint32_t sp_addr = *(__IO uint32_t*)FLASH_APP_START_ADDRESS; __set_MSP(sp_addr); __enable_irq(); jump_to_application(); } If I use the BOOTLOADER_START_ADDRESS as jump_address, it will (just as expected) jump back to the ResetHandler of the bootloader, that resides in the startup.s file (generated from CubeIDE). So I have verified that my "ju

I have a hardware question about the viper53e chip.  For VDD startup voltage, what is the correct voltage to guarantee the mosfet switching will start?  I have seen some examples where 11.5V was not enough, and curious to know what the is the best VDD to use at startup, to guarantee the mosfet will turn on?

I'm working on getting the ST25R3916 to communicate with an NTAG215 on the target application, and had it wired up with the antenna today. When I send a measure amplitude command, I get 89 = 1.159 Vpp without a tag in the field (the same value I got from the NFC08A1 dev kit).I have it sending an ALL request every 2 seconds, and when a tag is at the center of the field aligned with the antenna, I measure 49 = 0.637 Vpp when a tag is in the field, but no receive-related interrupt is triggered, just the same TXE and NRE interrupts as is typical during the 2s cycle. Is 0.637 Vpp sufficient to communicate with an NTAG215? Is there anything else from the ST25R3916's perspective I can measure to debug?

Calibration of ToF sensors requires a target which is '17% reflective'. Can I take it this means a simple peice of paper or card printed on a laser printer at 83% black (greyscale)? Thanks

Hi,I understand this has been discussed before, but can we please get an official explanation of how the dma tail pointer works in the Stm32H7 eth mac ip block? It's extremely difficult to write software to support the eth mac when the docs and example drivers are questionable and the actual functioning of the silicon is simply left to guess by a lack of official information. Issue: 2974/3357 RM0468 Rev 3 clearly says that the tail pointer is "an offset from the base", ie, it is not an absolute address or an index of a descriptor (from 0 to max descriptors). This completely disagrees with the cube driver which sets this as an absolute address: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32h7xx_hal_driver/blob/a7ac5eac41b0c73072401566237ba202f07251cf/Src/stm32h7xx_hal_eth.c#L1218 So, can we get an official no-further-questions answer for what kind of address is supposed to go in the tail pointer? Thanks,

good morning, I'm trying to import a neural network for NILM (non-intrusive load monitoring) in the stm32 environment, but I can't complete the analysis due to the presence of the error: INTERNAL ERROR: unpack_from requires a buffer of at least 122836864 bytes for unpacking 4 bytes at offset 122836860 (actual buffer size is 1654784) The network is CNN type and I'm working with xcube ai v. 9.0.0 and stm32cubeide 1.15.1I'm asking anyone if they know how I can solve the problem of the buffer size.Belolw I share the link for the TFlite model (seq2point_CNN_converted_model.tflite), thanks in advantace.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FhDdYCNd0y86SptZ5FHCSjpUQdkdxXZ9/view?usp=drive_link

A standalone installation of STM32CubeMX could solve the problem. But I'm worried that if the version of the two mismatches there may be some potential problems in future, since STM32CubeIDE auto-updates frequently and the included STM32CubeMX may update automatically. Is there any settings to make MCSDK using STM32CubeMX installed with STM32CubeIDE?

so im trying to run a project example from the stm32h747i disc0 repository from github. specifcally the DCMI project i want to try the camera using snapshot mode or capture mode .when i pen the project and try to build it  i gave this error saying that the lcd.c file is not found in project files(Description Resource Path Location Typemake: *** No rule to make target 'C:/Users/gouiaa/Downloads/en.stm32cubeh7-v1-11-2/STM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.11.0/Utilities/lcd/stm32_lcd.c', needed by 'Utilities/stm32_lcd.o'. As in https://community.st.com/t5/power-management/vn5050aj-cs-dis-not-working/m-p/632201#M10745 we now have added seriel diodes for every chip, but it is still not disabling his Current_Sense Output altough the CS_DIS Pin is above 3V.  The CS_DIS-1 Signal is comming from an 74HC138 so there is just always on VN5050 selected. The same principial is working fine on VND5160. Any advice would be appricatied
