Hello, I am working with the FDCAN peripheral on the STM32N6 Nucleo Board. While logging all received and transmitted messages, I noticed that some messages are received twice. Is there a specific reason for this behavior? Should I introduce a delay before reading the RxFIFO again? Thank you in advance for your support. Best regards,Guillermina

When I try to build the firmware for a L011D4 (16kB flash/2kB RAM) I get an "section `._user_heap_stack' will not fit in region `RAM'" and "region `RAM' overflowed" error even on an empty project (empty Arduino setup() and loop() functions). What do I need to do to get around this? I can't believe an empty project already fills up 2kB of RAM just for the Arduino core. If there really IS something using that much RAM, how could I find out what it is? I know there's also the ldscript.ld file, but I don't dare yet to change anything there, because I don't know what I'm doing ;) .In the end the MCU should just react to two buttons, control two LEDs, read two ADC channels and control a PWM output based on that. I also need a calibration value, which is why I chose the L011D4 in the first place (it's one of the few with an EEPROM). The L011D4 should be plenty for that. My project is configured as follows. I am using Visual Studio Code with platformIO for all my MCU (STM32, AVR,

I am trying to use VL53L4CD to detect whether there is a car on top of the sensor or not...I am placing my sensor on the ground and trying to detect if a car is parked on top of the sensor. But it is not able to detect the cars bottom surface. However if I place any other object it is able to detect that....Is this the right sensor for this application?

Hello, when doing code generation by CubeMX, it seems, that there's no Pin-remapping done in certain cases, at STM32C092FCP6.In my case, I chose SPI2 in master full-duplex mode. SPI2_CLK is on PB8 at Pin1. A remapping from PB7 to PB8 has to be done by setting PINMUX4 in SYSCFG->CFGR3 register. I thought this would be done by CubeMX code generation, but i didn't. The same is with SPI1 SCK, at Pin 20 with PB6/PB3. Is this the desired behaviour?

I'm working with an STM32WB55 Nucleo board and encountering a strange issue. My project uses an SPI display and an I2C accelerometer, along with BLE.When the board is powered via the ST-Link/USB, everything works perfectly: the BLE functions, the onboard LEDs toggle, and both the SPI display and I2C accelerometer work as expected. However, when I try to power the board from a Nordic Power Profiler Kit (PPK) and remove the jumpers as instructed to isolate the ST-Link (see attached image), the SPI display and I2C accelerometer stop working entirely. The BLE and LED toggling functions continue to work correctly, which is puzzling. Why would the peripherals fail in this specific power configuration, while the rest of the code continues to run? Any insights into what could be causing this are greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,I’m working with the STM32C011F6U6 in my design and would like to flash it using the system bootloader (USART1 on PA9/PA10 as described in the datasheet). Before finalizing my design, I ordered the MB1684B board with the STM32C011F6U6 to test this. However, I’m struggling to get the MCU into bootloader mode. It seems like the device never enters the system bootloader at all. Here’s what I did:I previously flashed a simple LED blink program, which works fine.I connected a push button to the BOOT0 pin (pressing the button ties BOOT0 to VDD).While holding BOOT0 high, I pressed the NRST button to reset the MCU.After reset, the LED is still blinking, which suggests the code in flash is running, not the system bootloader. On my NUCLEO-L412RB-P, doing the same BOOT0 + reset sequence works correctly and I can flash via UART. I assumed the STM32C0 family would behave the same, since the boot mode section in the datasheet looks similar. Why does the MB1684B (STM32C011F6U6) not enter the s

Hi, There is a blatant bug in the STM32CubeIDE that has costed me a board iteration on a professional product. It says that pin PA3 is positive comparator input. When it isn't. Look here This is what the datasheet says.

I've created a project for my Nucleo MB1404 - STM32HM563ZI board which uses USART2 and USART3 to send and receive data to a computer. I've just configured both UARTS in the same way with the same parameters with STM32CubeMX. The USART3 works without problems ( can send and receive data),that is the UART connected to the onboard debugging microporcessor which implements a USB virtual COM and  the debugging functionallities. The problem is with USART2. I connected a "FTDI like" device that connects and converts the USART2 lines to a virual COM through USB in the computer. I can send bytes from the nucleo board to the computer and read them in the terminal software, but when I send data from the terminal software to the board I get HAL_TIMEOUT and can't read it. If I check the state of the USART with  HAL_UART_GetState(&huart2); I get HAL_UART_STATE_READY. I keep calling HAR_UART_Receive(... ) in a while for 20 seconds but it reads nothing, I only getTIMEOUT.uint8_

I am using the STM32H753VI chip, it's on a proprietary PCB but the layout is very similar to the nearest NUCLEO board so I am not ready to consider that the issue.I am working on a very low power application, using CubeIDE but minimal HAL, preferring bare metal. When I execute __WFI() to put the device to deep-sleep, D1 and D2 enter standby (D2 is always standby, actually), and D3 is supposed to stop and allow LPUART1 and RTC to run in autonomous mode (LSE clock). This works exactly as expected, drawing about 250 uA from my power supply (via LDO). The device is set to wake from deep-sleep on LPUART1 RX event. When it wakes, my program can discriminate between the original Power-on Reset and the Wake from Standby. The PWR_CPUCR register is set to 0x1A3, which corresponds to SBF_D2, SBF_D1, STOPF, PDDS_D2, and PDDS_D1 all set, exactly as anticipated. The issue occurs the next time __WFI() is called. As best as I can tell the settings have not changed, but D3 does not appear

Hello everyone,I am performing some tests over the NUCLEO-WBA65RI board, related to low power mode and BLE functionality.I managed to test the BLE_p2pserver example correctly and checked the current consume is about 500 μA on this case until it goes on low power mode and changes to 20 μA.The low power mode stays like that and we are not publishing unless B1 button is pushed.I was wondering if there is any document that explains how this is performed and to ask if it was possible to have the BLE stack publishing in low power mode(stop2mode) like it could be done in in the WB55 which is a dual core. Thanks in advance!

Dear ST,I'm trying to get USB CDC device working on custom STM32H7R3L8HxH based board. Host (Windows) detects it but unfortunately the USB device fails to enumerate with error:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)A request for the USB device descriptor failed.USB FS based Boot ROM works in DFU mode so I know hardware should be okay.I found a bug in CubeMX code generator. USBPHY clock source is configured to be HSE (which is 24 MHz):However code generator creates usbd_conf.c function HAL_PCD_MspInit with these lines: /** Initializes the peripherals clock */ PeriphClkInit.PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_USBOTGFS; PeriphClkInit.UsbOtgFsClockSelection = RCC_USBOTGFSCLKSOURCE_PLL3Q; if (HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig(&PeriphClkInit) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } I confirmed with debugger in SFR view that indeed OTGFSSEL bits in RCC_CCIPR1 are set to PLL3/Q.STM32CubeIDE version is 1.19.0 and MxCube version

Hello, I am using the ST-25R200 ready-to-use NFC evaluation board for my application. I have already used the ST25R200 EVAL GUI software which functions without any problem.  Since I want to develop my own software and integrate it for the application which requires to read/write to the NFC tags, I went through the forum and found out some much helpful ST25NFC_Embedded_Lib_ST25R200_1.8.0. After installing, I went through the example ndef_read.c and ndef_write.c codes (which are very thorough in and of themselves). I am trying to use these codes along with the required drivers and header files using VS code. I have properly included the paths for all the required headers. However, while compiling I am getting the error: reent.h source file (dependency of rfal_nfc.h) could not be opened. I am also unable to find the said header file in the installed embedded library folder. Request for any help, since I am a novice in programming microcontrollers

Hi Engineer, I purchased the part of ESDA5WY, and the type number showing on the label is 'AESDA5WY '. Could you suggest the meaning of the letter "A"? Thanks, Gloria

Hello,in my app I am using a listLayout that is inside a scrollable container. In that listLayout I dynamically add and remove elements based on user touch. Each element has multiple wildcards in textAreas.Functionality is ok, but when one of the elements(MOTOR) is open, left to right flicker starts happening. When I close the element the flicker completely stops. Video of flicker: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Qo5VO2ftH8UUsing: TouchGFX 4.25.0 designerSTM32h757 board (Riverdi 70STM32H7 config) Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hello,I am designing a custom board with stm32mp257,As given in evm it is connected with 4GB eMMC on SDMMC2, But I require 32GB 0r 64GB, can you suggest some eMMC for it.Best RegardsAbhineet Ranjan

I'm looking for an example to use as the starting point for a sensor data collector. In particular, an  STM32F401 ADC_MultichannelSingleConversion with DMA and software start. I found an example for the F11 that is based on the LL SDK. I then created an F401 project using ADC with DMA and set the code generator to utilize the LL SDK for those components. I then compared the 'stm32f4xx_it' source and header files and found them substantially different. So much so, in fact, that I'm unsure how to proceed. The F11 example does not have an IOC file, so I cannot view its configuration settings. The code generated from my IOC file features very nice blocks that delineate where user code should be placed, and I want to utilize this feature to avoid conflicts with the code generator as I add other system components. The same applies to the 'main' source and header files. If there's a better example to use as a starting point, or some guidance for merging the example code into a STM32Cube p

Hi everyone,I'm trying to interface an SD card over SPI with an STM32F411. However, I cannot even initialize it. My current sequence is:Wait 20 ms after power-on.Send 10 clock cycles with CS high.Pull CS low and send CMD0 and wait for a reponse.Instead, I only ever receive 0xFF instead of 0x01.My SPI configuration looks like this:Here is the relevant code: MY_DEBUG_PRINTLN("Hello World"); uint8_t txBuf[6]; uint8_t resp = 0x00; uint8_t dummy = 0xFF; HAL_Delay(20); MY_DEBUG_PRINT("Raw SD SPI test:\n"); // send 80 clocks with CS high HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_1, GPIO_PIN_SET); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi2, &dummy, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); } HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_1, GPIO_PIN_RESET); // CMD0 frame txBuf[0] = 0x40; txBuf[1] = 0x00; txBuf[2] = 0x00; txBuf[3] = 0x00; txBuf[4] = 0x00; txBuf[5] = 0x95; // send command HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi2, txBuf, 6, HAL_MAX_DELAY); // wait for response for (int i = 0; i < 3

im looking in the main.h file for this example and wondering where __BUFFER__ is defined thats used in this line #define COUNTOF(__BUFFER__) (sizeof(__BUFFER__) / sizeof(*(__BUFFER__))) thanks for the help

I am trying to debug a basic project on a STM32MP257F-DK board, and am running into an issue. I have tried it on both Windows 11 and Ubuntu 24.04. A couple other people have b

I am trying to configure a USB-C connector on a peripheral device to detect VBUS via GPIO (PH9). I have tried several iterations using the following device tree documentation.- 3.3.1. DT configuration example as high speed OTG, with micro-B connector, Vbus and ID mapped on GPIOs- 3.3.3 DT configuration example as USB2-speed only USB3DR in Peripheral mode, with micro-B(ID left unconnected) or Type-C connectorThe only way I have been able to get USB traffic to occur is by using the role-switch-default-mode attribute, but that comes with the warning about VBUS:Forcing default mode bypasses the vbus detection, which is normally required to raise the pull-up resistor on D+ data line. This makes it non compliant with USB specifications. Recommended method to implement peripheral only role, is to use GPIO to detect Vbus, And I suspect this warning is the reason why USB traffic doesn't come back after coming back out of suspend/low-power mode.Example snippet of a configuration I've t

TL;DR - adding USBX and the USB CDC device class to my STM32U5 TouchGFX project causes it to fail during initialization, because the default memory settings are woefully inadequate.I have a TouchGFX project running on an STM32U5G9J-DK2 using ThreadX.  The TouchGFX component tosses up a splashscreen, and I have other tasks running, including a debug task putting out UART data.  So that all works fine. What doesn't work is when I add USBX and a simple USB CDC device class to the project.  I can add it using CubeMX, but when I build and run it, it dies during initialization because of memory allocation issues.  I would at least expect it to run out-of-the-box when adding it to a new or existing project. Here are my steps to reproduce the failure:Make a workspace directory (I called mine C:\ST\workspace\touchgfx_usb_issue).Open TouchGFX, create a new project, select STM32U5G9J Discovery Kit 2 running ThreadX, select the workspace directory as the "Application Directo

Hi all,I'm currently working on a project using a STM32H753 in combination with the Azure RTOS UsbX to create a composite class USB device (CDC ACM + MSC). As a starting point for the MSC support, I'm using this STM github example:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/x-cube-azrtos-h7/tree/main/Projects/STM32H735G-DK/Applications/USBX/Ux_Device_MSC Unfortunately, my board only supports a 1-bit SD bus which is running at 48MHz. The composite class is working along I'm using the HAL_SD_WriteBlocks_IT / HAL_SD_ReadBlocks_IT functions. By using the IT driven approach, Windows is able to mount the SD card and I can create, edit or delete files as expected.Changing to the DMA driven functions, then the mount seems to fail, has corrupt disk naming or asks to insert a disk. I'm aware of cache coherency issues in the H7 and I setup the linker file and MPU accordingly (creating an 32kB area for the UsbX memory pool in the AXI SRAM): Linker file:/* Specify the memory

We are developing a product that needs the ability to run 3 separate CAN interfaces connected to 3 separate CAN buses.  I have the NUCLEO-F413ZH and I can successfully initialize and start CAN1, CAN2, and CAN3 and transmit from each of them in a single application, but I only get RX interrupts on CAN3 when all 3 interfaces are initialized and started.  Additionally, if I only initialize and start CAN1 or CAN3 in my application, I can transmit and receive from them, but not CAN2.Pages 1076-1077 of the part datasheet/reference manual (RM0430) lists dual and single CAN peripheral configurations:First question: is it possible to run all three CAN interfaces simultaneously and receive messages from each of them?CAN2 doesn't have direct access to SRAM, so I think if I want to use CAN2 for receiving, I also need to enable CAN1.  Is that correct?I don't understand what is meant by the master/slave relationship between CAN1 and CAN2.  It sounds like messages received on CAN2

Hi,Im just getting my new STM32N6570-DK and I try blinking simple led project first with default generate. But when I built and flash it, it got stuck when init UCPD (pic 1), am I missing something ?When I checking seem it still not define yet (pic 2).Thanks

Hi,I am not able to output per I2S properly.1. I changed from a properly working driver for STM32F407 to this STM32H7A3VGTI had to learn, that the master clock is different as for the 407; here is always running (?) and the DMA did not work properly anymore.2. I made a testsetup with CubeMX (6.14.1):- I2S Philips- 48 kS- 16 bit- I2S clock = 49,152MHz- no MasterclockI simply use HAL_I2S_Transmit() for a 4 word buffer to send. The buffer is 32bit aligned and is in "normal" ram since DTCMRAM does not work for the DMA (lateron). The function generates proper output for BCK, Data and LRCK, but it never stops. It sends the last word from buffer over and over again. I can switch of i2s, than it stopps. Is this to be expected (?)3. Next approach:- Same configuration as (2), but using DMA, Half-Word(16bit) for per and mem, no fifo- The callback HAL_I2S_TxCpltCallback() is called with the right SPI-> inside I call HAL_I2S_DMAStop() to stop the DMAResult: No output at all4. Next approach:-
