Hi, I am trying to use the VL53L7CX to do gesture detection for a household product. A few questions:Do these software downloads only run on a Windows PC? https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-img035.html ? I am trying to do embedded development and gesture recognition on a microcontroller. Are the "gestures" recognized only static signs, like a thumbs up, heart, etc? Or does ST have software or firmware written to recognize dynamic gestures, like a wave left, wave right, etc?I am trying to write my own gesture recognition code to run directly on an embedded microcontroller. There seems to be a lot of spurious or incorrect distance data. Currently I am filtering for 1) distances not too close or too far 2) signal_per_spad must be sufficiently high and range_sigma_mm must be sufficiently low and 3) target_status = 5. Still I get bad or fake distance data. What environmental variables could cause spurious or fake distances measurements? Reflected or ambient light?I have tried using

So I want to use a capture compare to measure an input frequency 0.1Hz to 100kHz. Peripheral clock is set to 32MHz to cover full range and maximise speed of calculations. At lower frequency I have to count the number of times the over capture call-back is called, to put into the calculation. However there are a few frequencies where the over capture and edge detection IRQs have a beating effect, I have delt with this on other processors by ensuring the order IRQs are delt with but it doesn't seem to be working here.Sometimes the last over capture is called first, other times in is not, leading to a large jump in my calculated result. As anyone any experience with this issue on the STM32 TIM peripherals?/****************************************************************************** Function : Calculate_Frequency Return : Frequency post calculation as a float *****************************************************************************/ #define TIMCLOCK 32000000.00 //System clock value

Hello,Sorry if it's a *** question but I don't understand something.I want to have an HID and MassStorage usb device. I've seen that ST add USE_USBD_COMPOSITE but I don't understand why we use it for USBD_ClassTypeDef.For me, we have 1 device desc + 1 config desc with 2 interfaces, it's not enough to have only 1 class (with init, setup, dataIn, dataOut, getHsDesc) and put 2 registerInterface in MX_USB_DEVICE_Init and an if(epnum == HidEp) else if(epnum == MscEp) in dataIn and dataOut ?I think I missing something.Thank you for your answer.

Hello,I'm building a BLE receiver using an STM32WBA55CG.The device should only receive BLE advertising packets, never transmit, so I've put it in a "central" role. The device will be used very close to sensitive equipment, so it is very important that the radio never transmit.Despite being configured as a central, and having not called any functions which I would expect to transmit (such as scanning), I am seeing two different RF emission events from the radio:A "chirp" as soon as the device is powered onMultiple "blips" some time later at random intervalsThe "chirp" is a fairly quiet burst, which seems to rise in frequency across the 2.4-2.5GHz ISM band. I assume this is some kind of calibration/set-up, as it's always emitted as soon as HOST_BLE_Init() is called, from what I can see. This is manageable, as I can block the RF path when powering on/initialising the receiver for a few seconds, which should be sufficient to prevent this being emitted over the air.The "blips" are more trou

Good morningI must project a board in this way:This baord will be connect to usb -c of the computer. There will be a converter 5V --> 3.3V.A MCU with bluetooth and antenna integrated. The goal is: the computer must recognize the board like USB serial Port (COMx) like a FTDI? So.. not virtual COM.My question is: can the computer recognize STM32WB5MMGH6TR like a serial USB serial Port (COMx)?Does it need some drivers about it?

I'm using tcpp01-m12 and stm32u5 borad to develop a UCPD sink application. The UCPD module seems works fine, and I can request selected voltage from source. But when I closed the MOS which controlled by tcpp(mcu set tcpp ctrl pin high), the vcc output voltage still have about 500mV.Is this a Characteristics of MOS tube, or any hardware design suggestion?

Hi, everyone. FYI:I have a board STM32MP257F-DK-C01. I flashed the latest release according to https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP2_boards/STM32MP257x-DK/Let%27s_start/Populate_the_target_and_boot_the_imageIt starts and everything looks ok, but the ethernet is absent. etho is absent if I run "ifconfig", "if up", etc. LEDs are not flashing when cable is plugged.I tried to flash it second time, no changes. I tried to use same sdcard on another  STM32MP257F-DK-C01 board, but had no luck. After reverting to v24.12.05 everything works fine. Some facts that might help from v25.06.11:1) U-Boot prints message: Net: No ethernet found2) At the tenth second kernel writes a message[   10.843936] Board is not a valid BOARD (stm32mp257f-dk, stm32mp257f-ev1)3) After console is loaded the username looks like this:

Hello,We are working on a smart floor system for sports applications using STM32WB55 MCUs.Each floor tile has its own STM32WB55 that collects sensor data (foot pressure/position).Our requirement:Send data from many STM32WB nodes simultaneously to a PC for visualization (MATLAB/custom UI).Main Question::backhand_index_pointing_right: What is the recommended way to achieve simultaneous BLE data streaming from multiple STM32WB nodes to a PC? Are there example projects or application notes for this scenario?Thank you very much,

Hi,I am trying to set up bootloader on my STM32G030, via usart. When I enter it and send start command (0x7F) I do get ACK response(0x79). I cna read ID and protocol verions, but when I try do use "Go" command to start my application, it gets stuck. What I am sending and responses I get from bootlaoder:Send:  0x7F    (start)Response: 0x79Send:  0x21    0xDE    (go command)Response: 0x79Send:  0x0800004 0x04 (my application program is at address 0x08000000) (0x04 is length of address in bytes for checksum)Response: nothing I assume I am doing something wrong with checksum value, but I cant figure out what.

Hello everyone,I’m currently working with the ST25DV04K chip and I’ve noticed two points that are a bit confusing:There doesn’t seem to be any way to change the RF passwords via I²C.I couldn’t find any command that allows a full factory reset (including resetting the passwords). My questions are:Is this really the case, or am I missing some undocumented/hidden command? If the passwords are set via I²C and cannot be changed anymore, doesn’t this risk making the device unusable in case of a configuration mistake? Is there any recommended method from ST to bring the chip back to a “clean” state without replacing it?Thanks in advance to anyone who can clarify these points.

Hello.. i m working on Ethernet RMII on H743 nucleo, and encountered this error msg, could anyone advise how to configure RAM at 0x24000000? TQ!

Hi,I am using a ST25R3920 to emulate a type 2 tag. I have got the Read part working and I am able to send 16 bytes of data in response to 0x30 and confirm the data on a phone. But when the phone tries to write data using 0xA2, I am unable to send the 4 bit Ack (0xA) response that is acceptable for the phone which throws a write error. On probing the modulation using an oscilloscope, I noticed that the ST25 is sendingstart 0101 0000 parity instead ofstart 0101 parityHere is my send sequence:Clear FIFOSet ntx = 0, nbtx = 4 (to send only 4 bits)Load FIFO with 0xATransmit without CRCIs it possible to send 4 bit frames in card emulation mode with this chip to support type 2 communication?

Hi @Amel NASRI ,Does STM32H755xI support OTP (One Time Programmable) memory in it's flash like STM32BH7B3x?Muthukrishnan

This is a line of code i don't understand,  /* Force the TIMx prescaler with immediate access (gen update event) */ LL_TIM_SetPrescaler(TIMx, pHandle->HALLMaxRatio); LL_TIM_GenerateEvent_UPDATE(TIMx);The code is part of the __weak void HALL_Init(HALL_Handle_t *pHandle) functionwhen the second line of code is executed does it mean that i get the interrupt timer over flow interrupt immediately. Please clarify. The TIM4 is configured in XOR / Hall mode.

Hi everyone,I’m working on an STM32U3 project and ran into an issue where flash erase was failing with error code 0x00000080 on page erase, even though the option bytes and addresses appeared correct. After debugging, I found that explicitly setting the voltage scaling to PWR_REGULATOR_VOLTAGE_SCALE1 before flash erase resolved the issue. The working sequence I use is:  HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); HAL_StatusTypeDef status = HAL_PWREx_ControlVoltageScaling(PWR_REGULATOR_VOLTAGE_SCALE1); if(status != HAL_OK) { return status; } EraseInitStruct.TypeErase = FLASH_TYPEERASE_PAGES; EraseInitStruct.Banks = BankNumber; EraseInitStruct.Page = FirstPage; EraseInitStruct.NbPages = NbOfPages; if (HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&EraseInitStruct, &PageError) != HAL_OK) { return status; }This step wasn’t required on my Nucleo board but was essential on my custom hardware. My questions now are:Is it safe and recommended to keep the voltage scaling at SCALE1 permanently after flash erase, or sh

Hi all,  it's me again.   Close readers of this forum may remember I have a cluster of 5 VL53L4CX sensors that are attempting to range humans at an ideal distance of about 1.5-2m.   I think I've successfully managed to avoid interference between the 5 sensors. I expect the data to be bit noisy from ambient light and moving humans, but I'm also trying to optimize, and starting to play with the huge number of Tuning Parameters available.  I'm ok trading off latency for accuracy, especially at this long range.A specifc question though:some of my sensors are reporting a fair number of RangeStatus 4, 7, and sometimes 12.4: VL53LX_RANGESTATUS_OUTOFBOUNDS_FAILRaised when range result is out of bounds 7: VL53LX_RANGESTATUS_WRAP_TARGET_FAILWraparound occurred 12: VL53LX_RANGESTATUS_TARGET_PRESENT_LACK_OF_SIGNALIndicate that there is a target, but signal is too low to report ranging  I've finally got a setup that I can use to test tuni

Hello,  What is the best way to drive a 4x4 keypad, taking in account power consumption and MCU life expectancy? Option 1: Continuous scan of columns and read rows.Option 2: Like option 1, but including delays (0.01 s) to reduce MCU stress.Option 3: Leave all columns to high or low level and use an EXTI for every row. In the EXTI function, scan columns one only time to see the pressed key. Or doesn't matter and can use any option?. Looking technical data, the main thing to have in account for power consumption is the clock frequency. Now using nucleo-F446RE, and when the project is finished, I will migrate to other MCU Thanks

Hello ST team, as mentioned in the title, I found that the power consumption when using the ULP library to drive TOF L1 is inconsistent with the manual. I'm using the official evaluation board vl53l1-satel. Below is my test code and power consumption data. In my code, you'll see both ULD and ULP libraries, but I'm actually only using the ULP library; the ULD library is commented out.int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ uint16_t dev=0x52; int status=0; volatile int IntCount; uint8_t byteData, sensorState=0; uint16_t wordData; uint8_t measurement_status; uint16_t estimated_distance_mm; uint16_t sigma_mm; uint16_t signal_kcps; uint16_t ambient_kcps; /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* USER C

Hello everyone out there,I hope one of you can help me because I'm a bit confused about the additional information the sensor provides.I need to measure the fill level of a salt container. I noticed that the measured values deviate by about 6 cm compared to a smooth surface. This seems to be because the light is scattered and reflected multiple times within the salt. With the ST GUI (VL53L4CX Rev. 1.0.0.12289), when the additional information is enabled, I see a distance of 27 cm. The minimum is 25 cm and the maximum is 182 cm. However, the lower diagram shows a blue bar that ranges from 0 to approximately 107 cm. The signal strength is 18 Mcps. Can someone explain to me how this information is determined?Does the lower diagram represent the so-called histogram? Why are the limits in the diagram not the same as the minimum and maximum?I haven't really figured out how to use the histogram function yet. Perhaps that would help me correct the measured values.

Hello Everyone, I'm using the VL53L4CD with the STM32WL55JC1, The following is the Power Profile of the cycle:1- XSHUT GPIO is normally pulled low.2- XSHUT Pulled up + delay ( sensor wakes up).3- VL53L4CD Initiliazation.4- Measurements (20 Samples).5- XSHUT Pulled Low again. Just after the initializing of the VL53L4CD, the current consumption was 4.45uA, then after HW-Standby, I can't get less than 332uA!?    Why this high amount of consumption even if the XSHUT is Pulled Low? The used board is the Sparkfun board(the LED on the board is removed).I posted this question inside another topic but I think it's better to be alone(since the sensor is different).  Thank youAmir

Hello,I'm using STM32G0B1RCT6 use cubemx generate cdc project works okbut when I edit  endpoint to 0x03 it Not working properly USB packet capture  endpoint 0x03   returns stall ny Idea about this issue and how to fix it please? Thanks.

Using Stm32CubeIDE 1.3.0...When I Copy and Paste a project in the Project Explorer (and name differently), it does copy the project. I also renamed the CubeMX IOC file to match the new project name. Then I did a Clean and a new Build. However, when I go to Debug, I get a number. To verify that the new project is using the new project paths I do a "Close" on the first project, then rename the old project in Windows Explorer.Builds fine, but when debugging it is complains that it can't find source files. It is still looking for the source files in the original project.... I changed the source lookup path in the Debug Configurations > Source to look in this project, and it still cannot find the files. And when checking if there are any files in the new project's Debug folders, they are indeed empty. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Dear ST Community, I'm working on a Zigbee IoT project where I need to configure my STM32WB55RG Nucleo board as a Zigbee End Device that joins an external coordinator (Raspberry Pi + CC2531 running Zigbee2MQTT).
