Posted on December 18, 2017 at 11:16Hello everyone,I have some trouble using the SDRAM of the STM32F746G-Disco as a framebuffer for the LTDC with CubeMX 4.22 instead of CubeMX 4.18.I configured my Project according to the Pinout of the Disco-Board and it worked fine with CubeMX 4.18. The SDRAM was configured likein the BSP examples provided with CubeMX (I noticed that CubeMX does not allow WriteRecoveryTime set to 2 like in the BSP, only 3  or higher is possible).I added my own code to initialise the SDRAM IC which is not generated by CubeMX. CubeMX initialises the FMC only. With CubeMX 4.18, everything works fine.Also a Project created with the BSP files and CubeMX 4.18 and 4.22 work fine. After updating my Project to CMX 4.22, the SDRAM did not work correctly asFramebuffer any more. Every 64. pixel, there are vertical lines and also there ist some random Pixel snow running all over the Screen (I am using CLUT 8 as colour mode).The intended Screen Content is still visible but di

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 23:56I've used the STM32CubeMX application to setup the main PLL and PLLI2S as shown below:When I generate the code, it generates the following: PeriphClkInitStruct.PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_I2S; PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLI2S.PLLI2SN = 123; PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLI2S.PLLI2SM = 8;   // <--- Compilation failure, PLLI2SM is not structure element PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLI2S.PLLI2SR = 5; PeriphClkInitStruct.I2SClockSelection = I2S_CLOCK_PLL;  // <-- I2SClockSelection is not a struct element if (HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig(&PeriphClkInitStruct) != HAL_OK) { _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); }As shown in the comments in the code above, both PLLI2SM and I2SClockSelection are not members of their respective structures.  This results in a compilation failure...  Anyone know what's going on here?#stm32f429-discovery #i2s

Posted on September 14, 2017 at 10:41 I have the 'Use Default Firmware Location' checkbox set in the 'Project Settings' window but nonetheless my firmware location path is being saved in the IOC file when I save it: ... ProjectManager.CustomerFirmwarePackage=/home/jive/stm32/repository/STM32Cube_FW_L0_V1.0 ...??? I think it would be better not to save the custom firmware location when the default location checkbox is set because different developers sharing the same IOC file in the version control system have different default repository paths.

Posted on February 05, 2018 at 05:15I am using STM32L031 by power of battery, so I wish to save power consumption.Now the current consumption is about 200uA at stop mode.May I change SWDIO and SWCLK to analogue GPIO after initialization?May I further save power consumption by this way?If OK, could you give some sample code to change SWDIO and SWCLK to analogue GPIO?Thanks.

Posted on October 11, 2017 at 22:50Hi,In this document:https://my.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/datasheet/3f/48/e2/37/6b/ac/4c/f5/DM00090983.pdf/files/DM00090983.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00090983.pdfThe EL_POS register is claimed to be written when the motor is stopped (remark WS). The section 11.1.2 says: 'Any attempt to write the register when the motor is running causes the command to be ignored and the CMD_ERROR flag to rise'But when I write EL_POS when the motor is stopped ( the motor is NOT running), the command is ignored and the CMD_ERROR flag rises too. I have done some experiments, and found that the EL_POS register could be written only when the motor is in HiZ state.I have no idea if it is my fault or the document is wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.#powerstep01 #el_pos

Posted on February 02, 2018 at 12:34Hi all,I am trying to make a simple CAN test program to send 8 bytes data. It seems like it is sending data (from the code point of view) but when I look with a scope. The TX line goes down for a few S, then go back high and that's it. It seems like it doesn't transmit anything at all....I got the interrupt with  HAL_FDCAN_TxFifoEmptyCallback() called but also the HAL_FDCAN_ErrorCallback()...This is the config: static void MX_FDCAN1_Init(void){hfdcan1.Instance = FDCAN1; hfdcan1.Init.FrameFormat = FDCAN_FRAME_CLASSIC; hfdcan1.Init.Mode = FDCAN_MODE_NORMAL; hfdcan1.Init.AutoRetransmission = DISABLE; hfdcan1.Init.TransmitPause = DISABLE; hfdcan1.Init.NominalPrescaler = 16; hfdcan1.Init.NominalSyncJumpWidth = 9; hfdcan1.Init.NominalTimeSeg1 = 4; hfdcan1.Init.NominalTimeSeg2 = 3; hfdcan1.Init.DataPrescaler = 4; hfdcan1.Init.DataSyncJumpWidth = 9; hfdcan1.Init.DataTimeSeg1 = 4; hfdcan1.Init.DataTimeSeg2 = 3; hfdcan1.Init.MessageRAMOff

Posted on September 20, 2017 at 17:34Hello I find ''minor discrepancy'' between datasheet and CumeMX, alee last releas.In DS is NPOR pin on position 20 LQFP48 and in CubeMX in position 43.  and in DS is on 43 P7B and in CubeMX PB2 on 20 .

Posted on January 30, 2018 at 08:08Hi,I'd like to find out more about the FCC certification requirements around integrating an M24SRXX into a product.Our testing partner seems to think that we need to go through FCC part 15.225 because the tag is battery operated.I think, while the tag can be supplied with power, that the RF section is no different from a passive tag, i.e. there is no amplification or additional emission that is not from the reader. I don't know this for certain but this seems consistent with the performance (read range) I've seen in the lab.Can anyone speak to the specific certification requirements?Thanksjay

Posted on January 31, 2018 at 07:26I am looking to use a microprocessor for space applications. I have looked to STM32F207xx family with the ARM 32-bit Cortex-M3 core and it has an appropriate operating temperature. Can you provide me with any documentation to prove its space tolerance or any other microprocessor. Please note that I will not be using the entire micro-controller in space, just the microprocessor.

Posted on February 01, 2018 at 09:37 Hi, I'm working on STM32F215 and I generate a PWM output on TIM1. This signal is going to an other device. For synchronization purposes on this signal, I would like to get the rising and falling edge of it. My first thought is to link the PWM ouptut directly to a EXTI pin in order to get my edges interrupt. I just begin working withTimerbut I'm just there is a simple way to get those PWM informations. Could you please help me with a code example/interrupt configuration ? Thank you very much, Marc #interrput #tim-pwm #stm32f2 Note: this post was migrated and contained many threaded conversations, some content may be missing.

Posted on January 31, 2018 at 09:04HI.I am testing with ST Discovery LoRa Kit, PingPong.There is no problem sending / receiving 64 bytes.However, the size of 64 bytes or more can not be transmitted or received.Semtech says that 128 bytes are possible, but why not?

Posted on April 04, 2017 at 18:32I have a custom board with a STM32F769 and I am having problems getting the low speed LSE oscillator running. I am using CubeMX 4.19 to generate the low level code. In order to get the oscillator to run I need to set the drive strength to high with the LSEDRV bits in the RCC_BDCR.However the code produced by CubeMX calls HAL_RCC_OscConfig() before setting the drive strength. The call to HAL_RCC_OscConfig() fails with a timeout because the LSERDY bit never gets set, because the oscillator isn't running.I can add__HAL_RCC_LSEDRIVE_CONFIG(RCC_LSEDRIVE_HIGH);to stm32f7xx_hal_rcc.c but this will get over written next time I generate code from CubeMX.As a side issue the reference manual suggests at 5.3.20 that the LSEDRV bits are not part of the backup domain but I don't seem to be able to write to them until the backup domain write accesses have been enabled.Any ideas what to do next? I know I could change the 32.768kHz to a low capacitance device that work

Posted on May 26, 2017 at 01:19 Hello. I'm trying to use the RTC Alarm interrupt to execute code at a specific time interval. I did everything, but the interrupt code never gets executed. However, all registers seems to be properly set. Finally I tested the setup forcing Alarm A flag check in a while loop and it works. So obviously the RTC sets the flag but the interrupt isn't executed. Probably I'm missing something. Any suggestions are appreciated! The code is posted below. void sysinit() { //RCC_SYSCLKConfig( RCC_SYSCLKSource_MSI ); // MSI, HSI, HSE or PLL RCC_HCLKConfig( RCC_SYSCLK_Div1 ); // AHB clock = SYSCLK /* For APB1 and APB2 (PCLK2 related to APB2) see Table 18 from the STM32F100 datasheet (Peripheral current consumption) */ RCC_PCLK1Config( RCC_HCLK_Div1 ); RCC_PCLK2Config( RCC_HCLK_Div1 ); //RCC_HCLK_Div1: APB2 clock = HCLK (from AHB clock) //RCC_PLLConfig( RCC_PLLSource_HSI_Div2, RCC_PLLMul_6 ); //RCC_PLLCmd( ENABLE ); //RCC_SYSCLKConfig( RCC_SYSCLKSource_PL

Posted on February 01, 2018 at 03:54Hello,I want to use the S2LP_Sigfox_DK library. (See the following picture.)3) When I click the error, the library opened as following.#static-library

Posted on January 30, 2018 at 16:01Hi All. I am Using The Nucelo-NFC5A1(ST25R3911B) board with STM32-Nuceo-F410RE board.(Using the X-Cube-NFC5 middleware RFAL).I am not getting any responses from my APDU commands sent to a card. ( Also no Error Codes from the rfalIsoDep functions I use).I have selected the NFC card and activated it. I have written a function to send the APDU command to the PICC.After calling the  rfalIsoDepGetApduTransceiveStatus() until it is not busy anymore, I find that the rxbufferLength is 0.I would expect that even when my APDU command is incorrect, I should at least get a response of 0x90 0x00.I have added  rfalWorker() into my loop for rfalIsoDepGetApduTransceiveStatus() as I assume it is required for the response.Also: According to documentation(rfal.chm + x-cube-nfc5.chm), the rfal is modifying the Txbuffer.prologue, or should I also configure this? I could not see in any example that the prologue needs to be configured.cod

Posted on January 31, 2018 at 16:29Hello,Let me know how to link a static library.I made a PCB with STM32L0, and use keil uVision5 environment.I want to use a static library like 'xx.a', but I don't know how to link it.I checked 'Options for Target' -> 'Linker', but I don't think I can edit the linker string.

Posted on January 30, 2018 at 23:27Hello. I was searching to find some example code showing the usage of the STLink Virtual comm port.  I couldn't find anything in the example projects (or was incompetent in my searching)...  I'd like to route printfs() to it for debugging. I'm also wondering if we could use it as a standard serial communication channel.  We're going to add RS-422 drivers and use a UART for the final product but I'd like to get a head start and was hoping to use the STLink to allow serial access prior to getting the H/W built.  I've seen various threads on the forum of people having trouble w/ the STLink comm.  Does anyone have a simple example that works?   Thanks!

Posted on January 31, 2018 at 10:42Hi!At the manual script en.DM00206508.pdf (DoclD027973 Rev 5 -- Datasheet of STM32L011x3/4) at page 67/119 I have a misunderstanding. I wanted to look over the temperature stability over the HSI16 oscillator and the values in the table 38. (16MHz HSI16 oscillator characteristics) varies from the Figure 22 (HSI16 minimum and maximum value versus temperature - MSv34791V1).The STM32 is supplied with VDD=3.0V and VDDA=3.0V and int the table 38 the values for a ambient temperature TA=-10°C to 105°C are -4% to 2%. At the other side in Figure 22 with (minimum and maximum values) is a 3V operated chip over -45°C to 125 °C with a maximum variation of the oscillator of 1%.Please help me clarify this discrepancy.
