Posted on January 24, 2018 at 10:32 Hey everyone, I need some clarification on this, as it will help my program run smoother. I want to run 2 DMA's simultaneously. One which will send data out using the SDMMC1, which is linked to DMA2. Then I'd like to read in data using DMA1 connected to Either of the Timer peripherals that allow a DMA request from GPIO to memory. Which here would be for example Timer 2 of DMA 1 stream 1. It doesn't seem like I can read in data from the GPIO to memory using DMA1 as seen in the image below from application note an 4 I've read on some forums that this could be because there is no direct connection between the DMA1 P and the bus matrix. So It would require me to go through a direct path. Is this possible as I haven't been able to get this going? I'd like to have the two DMA's running independently to avoid a clash. Thanks in advance for any help. dma-gpio stm32f7-dma stm32f7

Posted on February 10, 2018 at 09:44Hi,I am trying to migrate from STM32 Standard peripheral libraries to HAL libraries. I have few queries here:1)   Can i use HAL libraries with Keil without first creating project in CubeMX? I just want to build my project just from skretch like in case of SPL but every where i see example on how to use CubeMx. CubeMx adds a lot text and comments for user code/variables etc. which sometimes create difficulties maintaining own code. I just want to use HAL libraries by just adding appropriate files to my project. How can i do that?2)   I can't see any direct link to HAL libraries on ST website. The download links seems to be downloading CubeMX??3)  What benefits HAL libraries have over SPL??#standard-peripheral-libraries #hal-libraries #stm32f4-d

Posted on February 08, 2018 at 14:54Hi .. I am currently sending an APDU Command to a card with the ST25R3911 and get a valid response.I use the HAL drivers and middleware from ST-CubeMX ( CPU = STM32F401RE)As soon as I try to send another APDU command ( or even the same one again) I receive 0 bytes from the card.I start With rfalIsoDepPollAHandleActivation()   then i set up may parameters (rfalIsoDepApduTxRxParam)   then I send my first APDU Command. (rfalIsoDepApduBufFormat)  err = rfalIsoDepStartApduTransceive(myParam);   then I wait for the response in a loop with rfalworker()         for (int i=0;i<TIMEOUT;i++)             {                // Run the RFAL Worker              &n

Posted on February 11, 2018 at 15:00Hello everyone. I have encountered problem with USART1 on STM32F446RE. It seems it doesn't work for me. I have used multiple times USART2 and it works as it should, but USART1 with same configurations just refuse to work. What could be the problem?I use STM32CubeMX v4.24.0.UART_HandleTypeDef huart1;UART_HandleTypeDef huart2;void SystemClock_Config(void);static void MX_GPIO_Init(void);static void MX_USART1_UART_Init(void);static void MX_USART2_UART_Init(void);int main(void){    HAL_Init();    SystemClock_Config();    MX_GPIO_Init();    MX_USART1_UART_Init();    MX_USART2_UART_Init();    while (1)    {       HAL_UART_Transmit_IT(&huart1, (uint8_t *)'Hello with USART1\r\n', strlen('Hello with USART1\r\n'));       HAL_Delay(1000);       HAL_UART_Transmit_IT(

Posted on February 10, 2018 at 20:49 Hey everyone, I've got a small issue. I've got a Dma that fills a buffer(Double buffer so 2 actually) with data at every rising clock edge. I only want this clock to trigger the DMA 192 times until a reset signal is received. Once the reset signal is received, the DMA should just carry on where it left off, so position 193 of the buffer. This image tries to portray what Im trying to do. I have 192 cycles of data, followed by junk until the reset signal is received.So I want the Timer to trigger the dma for 192 rising edges, stop and wait for reset and then repeat. Essentially this is what my timer configuration is like. An input capture which triggers the dma every rising edge and then a slave mode set for reset. If I cant do this directly on the timer, is there a way that I could cascade two timers, where the timer would come in between the 2.5 MHZ signal and the timer that triggers the dma, pass through the clock signal and stop once 192

Posted on February 08, 2018 at 15:49 Hey everyone, I'm using a STM32f722ZE. I wanted to know if I allocate two 32KB buffers. One being in SRAM1 and the other in DTCM, With a double buffer DMA2, can the CPU and DMA run in parallel? To my understanding they can. So as soon as the buffer is filled in SRAM2, the DMA will shift to fill the buffer in DTCM and the CPU can process the data in SRAM2. Then the can sort of do this handshake while avoiding collisions on the bus. Same thing with AHB1 and AHB2, the DMA2 can access AHB1, while the CPU accesses AHB2, all in parallel? This is my understanding of the busmatrix. The collisions in requests only occur when the same space in the bus is accessed, i.e. Both targeting AHB1 . Thanks in advance for any clarification dtcm stm32f7-dma bus-matrix

Posted on February 09, 2018 at 02:03 Hi!I working with ST25R3911DiscoComm.dll and writing in C/C++.1. I sending 9370 and 9570 same as in your iso14443a_select_by_uid.py.All is OK with them, both returns 0.2. Next RATS:    char *rxRats = new char[1024];    for (int i = 0; i < 1024; i++) {        rxRats[i] = '\0';    }    size_t rxRatsSize = 0;    res = iso14443aRATS(h, 256, 0x1, rxRats, &rxRatsSize);    printf('%d\r\n', res);    printf('%d\r\n', rxRatsSize);Also all OK, res = 0. But I cannot receive some response in rxRats therefore I have no idea about ds and dr parameters for PPS.3. Next PPS (dr and ds just set to my mind's random 8):    printf('--- PPS: ---\r\n');    char *rxPPS = new char[1024];    for (int i = 0; i < 1024; i++) {        rxPPS[i] = '\0';    }    size_t rxPPSSize = 1024;    res = iso14443a

Posted on February 08, 2018 at 15:43I'm using the example code from STM8L15x-16x-05x-AL31-L_StdPeriph_Lib as a starting point.I'm able to get GPIO and I2C working but the configuration to get the DAC1 on pin PB4 not working.I have the following configuration:SYSCFG_RIIOSwitchConfig(RI_IOSwitch_15, ENABLE); //get DAC1 on PB4 pinCLK_PeripheralClockConfig(CLK_Peripheral_DAC, ENABLE);DAC_DeInit();DAC_Init(DAC_Channel_1, DAC_Trigger_None, DAC_OutputBuffer_Enable);DAC_SetChannel1Data(DAC_Align_12b_R, 2000);but the output on PB4 stay's zero.Also tried adding a check to be sure the DAC value is set correctly with:while(4000 != DAC_GetDataOutputValue(DAC_Channel_1));and the loop is just exited.The problem must be in the IO switch configuration, but i have no clue what it could be.Any idea's?#io-pins-matrix-switch-peripheral #dac_out1

Posted on May 29, 2017 at 16:50I believe there is a bug in the osMailCAlloc function from cmsis_os.c V1.02 (STM32Cube_FW_F1_V1.4.0).The function will always assign 0 to the first 4 bytes of the block, since sizeof an uint32_t is 4.if (p) {  for (i = 0; i < sizeof(queue_id->queue_def->item_sz); i++) {    ((uint8_t *)p)[i] = 0;  }}#stm32cube #freertos #cmsis

Posted on October 17, 2017 at 19:04The code generated for an F303CCTx LL Active level Inversion of USART1 RX is :-LL_USART_SetRXPinLevel(USART1, UART_ADVFEATURE_RXINV_ENABLE);which doesn't compile. Where as I think it should be :- LL_USART_SetRXPinLevel(USART1, LL_USART_RXPIN_LEVEL_INVERTED);The TX doesn't have this problem.I also found that I need to add :- /* Enable RXNE and Error interrupts */ LL_USART_EnableIT_RXNE(USART1); LL_USART_EnableIT_ERROR(USART1);to enable the interrupts I need. As it would seem the best place to add these is in the MX_USART1_UART_Init function that is generated, would it be possible to add a user code section at the end of the function to add this code to.

Posted on October 05, 2017 at 16:00I need to programatically implement censorship on a SPC560B60x.  So this would involve unlocking and erasing the shadow sector and immediately writing new values for NVPWDx/NVSCCx.Unlocking involves LML[TSLK]/SLL[STSLK] but erasing is unclear. According to 30.6.3 Sector erase:1. Change the value in the MCR[ERS] bit from 0 to 1.2. Select the block(s) to be erased by writing 1s to the appropriate bit(s) in the LMS register. If the shadow sector is to be erased, this step may be skipped, and LMS is ignored. Note that Lock and Select are independent. If a block is selected and locked, no erase will occur.3. Write to any address in flash memory. This is referred to as an erase interlock write....Since LMS is not relevant in step 2, how do I indicate that it's the shadow sector I want erased?#flash #shadow

Posted on February 01, 2018 at 17:55Hello,I am developing a client-server system using an STM32F407 CPU.The client is a VB.net software that sends some commands to the server, opening and closing a TCP socket for every commands.To develop server firmware I'm modifing the 'TCP Echo Server' example based on Raw API.The system works perfectly, provided that the data sent by the client (command and parameters) is a maximum of 12 bytes long; if the data is longer, it appears that the TCP connection is never really closed by the server.Infact, if the number of the simultaneously active TCP connections (setted with the parameter MEMP_NUM_TCP_PCB in lwipopts.h) is five, by sending sequentially five commands the server answers yet, but if another commands is sent next, it goes down and I get the following messages from the LWIP logs:memp_malloc: insufficient memory in the TCP_PCB pooltcp_alloc: delete the oldest TIME-WAIT connectionmemp_malloc: insufficient memory in the TCP_PCB pooltcp_alloc:

Posted on February 07, 2018 at 06:10I have been trying to get the USART to work on the stm32f3 discovery for a while without any success. Currently, the TX pin (PA2) is at a constant 3.3V, the RX pin (PA3) is at a constant 0V. I am using an FTDI Basic breakout board to read the USART, and I am using the keil uvision 5 IDE.The code is given below:/* Includes ------------------------------------------------------------------*/&sharpinclude <stm32f30x.h>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_rcc.h>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_rcc.c>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_gpio.h>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_gpio.c>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_misc.h>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_misc.c>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_tim.h>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_tim.c>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_usart.h>&sharpinclude <stm32f30x_usart.c>//&sharpinclude <arm_math.h>/* Private typedef -----------------------------------------------------------

Posted on February 07, 2018 at 21:12Hello, I'm just wondering what is the threshold voltage used to determine if an external interrupt due to falling or rising edge should occur. I'm attempting to find it in the datasheet, but unsure at which value to look at. For reference, I am using the stm32l476ve.Many thanks!

Posted on February 03, 2017 at 17:20I use NUCLEO-F746 and NUCLEO-767, CubeMX 4.19 with FreeRTOS and LWIP.No Watchdog, enough space for sprintf() stack behaviour and SRAM1 only.DC power comes from a DCDC 24/5V converter, super clean, monitored by Oscilloscope.My software performs a Reset approx. one time in an hour, but no NVIC_SystemReset command is in the code.I adopted the project on the NUCLEO-767ZI board, same result. The board is connectedto my peripheral board for signal conditioning, every signal is isolated with a digital isolator.A FRAM is used to keep track of the 'Reset' counts.First I thought there are just 3 ways only to reset a controller.Any ideas? I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Posted on October 04, 2017 at 20:09How do I have to configure the linker script file to block the required spacefor Ethernet buffers at 0x24000000?STM32H743 starts with DTCM at 0x20000000, but Ethernet works in 0x24000000 only.I want to use the RAM space around for my purpose without losing so much.In ethernetif.c the buffers are marked with .RxDecripSection, .TxDecripSection, .RxArraySection.I'm not a linker file specialist to make the right definitions.Thank you for your help.

Posted on January 21, 2018 at 01:31Which step is neccessary to have .data and .bss sections in RAM_D2?If I place them in domain D2, HardFault_Handler() is called. Why?There are known bugs in hal_spi.c - Ethernet works sometimes (if you correct the Pin settings and place decriptors anywhere except in DTCM), but sometimes a RTE occurs or nothing is sent - CubeMX does not check APBx speeds and set the default to 200MHz instead of 100, hal_eth contains a hardcoded 536 DMA segment size.

Posted on February 02, 2018 at 20:43I'm trying to configure timer 7 in one-shot mode on the STM32L431 and am having an issue with my timer IRQ triggering as soon as I enable the interrupt. It seems like its preloaded with the period value, however I have the Auto Preload Reload disabled. This only happens the first time I enable the function. After that the code works as expected with my below functions. I have two questions: If I want to reset the counter mid-count is this the proper way to do it: __HAL_TIM_SET_COUNTER(&hTimAsk, 0);Am I missing something with my initialization that's causing the IRQ to trigger as soon as the interrupt is enabled?// Restart timer functionvoid timerStartAskTimeout(void){  HAL_TIM_Base_Stop_IT(&hTimAsk);      __HAL_TIM_SET_COUNTER(&hTimAsk, 0);   HAL_TIM_Base_Start_IT(&hTimAsk);}   // Timer Initialization Functionvoid timerInitializeAsk(void){  TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig;&

Posted on February 07, 2018 at 12:00Hi!I am a student and a newbie with BLE and I'm having a little trouble with understanding the HCI events and commands and how it is working.I'm using a steval stlkt01v1 development kit and FP-AUD-BVLINK1 sample program.I examined every documentation and example for the sensor tile kit and every documentation for the FP-AUD-BVLINK1 sample program. I've started the learning with the BlueNRG_MS ACI user manual but I had no success, now I'm trying to understand the BLE and HCI with the sample code and comments but I had no success with this either.I need an advice, how should I start with this topic? Is there any helpful documentation or tutorial, which I can start with?My main purpose is to understand the HCI state machine(for example the HCI_Event_CB function), and successfully create a connection between two devices, later exchanging data on my own.Best regards,Mayer Tamás

Posted on June 06, 2017 at 06:56In STM32F3 series, user data bytes are available at location 0x1FFFF804. I have used this for storing a  status marker value. During power on reset i am checking this location based on the value I am executing some functions(I will changing this value in run time).  Is this feature available in STM32L4 series? I didn't find this in user manual.

Posted on February 06, 2018 at 21:17Hello,I have  a project where I'm using some floating point variables.  When I pass the float variable into a function (passed by value) the variable inside the function shows 0.0 in the debugger.  The code compiles and links without warnings.  Maybe I'm missing some compiler define?  Below is an example://Prototype of calleestatic int torqueControl(float Pgain, float Igain, float Dgain, int target);void caller (){float P = 1.0;float I = 2.0;float D = 3.0;int target = 100;int retval;retval = torqueControl(P,I,D, target);  // called w/ PID vals}static int torqueControl(float Pgain, float Igain, float Dgain, int target){// inside this function Pgain, Igain and Dgain are 0.0 // but target is correctly 100.}Anyone know what might be happening here?Thanks.

Posted on January 31, 2018 at 19:15Hi,I have B-L072Z-LRWAN1 board from ST running I-CUBE-LRWAN software for LoRaWAN, and RHF0M301 gateway from RisingHF.I am testing a class C and I have an issue in downlink, here is the scenario: Node transmit an uplink to server, then a delay for 30s to transmit the next packet.During that time I send a packet from server, it is received by gateway ( INFO: [down] a packet will be sent in immediate mode)But it is not sent to node immediately, node receives the packet before the timeout, then process the next uplink immediately. (For example, at 28s it receives the packet, at 30s it process the next uplink)So, what is the reason of this problem? How can I solve it?In my viewpoint, It could be caused by the gateway (no immediate transmit), or configurations in node.Best regards. #lora #lorawan
