I have trouble to understand bits in phy registers using HAL_ETH_WritePHYRegister() method.I'll try to explain my question using PHY_AUTONEGOTIATION value defined in stm32xxxx_hal_config.hBasing on the default LAN8742a which is implemented on nucleo boards with ethernet, also well supported by CubeMX.Define in stm32fxxx_hal_config.h:#define PHY_BCR ((uint16_t)0x00U) /*!< Transceiver Basic Control Register */ #define PHY_AUTONEGOTIATION ((uint16_t)0x1000U) /*!< Enable auto-negotiation function */File stm32fxxx_hal_eth.c: /* Enable Auto-Negotiation */ if((HAL_ETH_WritePHYRegister(heth, PHY_BCR, PHY_AUTONEGOTIATION)) != HAL_OK) { ... }In LAN8742a datasheet (http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/8742a.pdf):4.2.1 Basic Control Register, Page 67:bit 12: Auto-Negotiation Enable 0: disable auto-negotiation process 1: enable auto-negotiation process  As I understand HAL_ETH_WritePHYRegister(heth, PHY_BCR, PHY_AUTONEGOTIATION) sets 12th bit of BCR.The question is:How

Is there an MPU in STM32F427?It's mentioned in STM32F427xx/STM32F429xx data sheets (dm00071990), but not in RM0090.

Hi,I'm working on a project to create a voltage inverter controlled by a STM32103C8T6 (the bluepill). Later, I intend to include a boost converter to have a better voltage control. The problem is that my delays aren't working properly. Where I should get 7ms, I get 8ms, and where I should get 1ms, I get 2ms.In the infinite loop is GPIOA->BSRR = GPIO_PIN_9; // Bit 9 HAL_Delay(7);   GPIOA->BRR = GPIO_PIN_9; HAL_Delay(1);   GPIOA->BSRR = GPIO_PIN_10; // Bit 10 HAL_Delay(7);   GPIOA->BRR = GPIO_PIN_10; HAL_Delay(1);In the inverter's output, I'm getting 50Hz when I should get 62.5Hz approximately. The complete code is available in https://gist.github.com/adailtonjn68/b80a8f2370d5024dc6b750ffe0dad0b8I'm configuring the MCU to run at 72MHz, the basic project is generated in CubeMX, and I use CubeProgrammer to program the MCU through ST-Link V2.It is important to mention that I am a newbie in STM32 programming. My experience I have is programming Arduino

This is the same question that I posted on the NXP Community "Problems doing updateBinary"I send 16 bytes using the NDEF updateBinary command after the NDEF Select file0x2 0x0 0xd6 0x0 0x4 0x10 0x54, 0x77 0x61 0x73 0x62 0x72 0x69 0x6c 0x6c 0x69, 0x67 0x61 0x6e 0x64 0x74 0x68 And get back 0xf2, 0x2

Dear Sir or madam, I would like to report a discrepancy in the reference manual of the stm32l4 series Quote from 45.6.2 Buffer descriptor table "The first packet memory location is located at 0x4000 6000"The package memory for usb is also called usb sram.In the memory register map (Table 2) the start adress of the usb sram is 0x4006C00 In the HAL lib also 0x4006C00 is used therefore i guess the adress in 45.6.2 is wrong. Is that right ?T.Zirni

Hi,I have a Nucleo STM32F767ZI with a X-Nucleo-PLC01A1 and a test application that cyclically switches ON/OFF the outputs .All works fine when I use HSI, with Output LEDs that stay solid during ON state. If I use High Speed Clock (in Cube MX, PCC->HSE->Crystal/Ceramic Resonator), LEDs blink with high freq, as a sort of refresh. As you can see , I set both HSE & HSI to 16MHz, so working frequency are the same. Can you help me or give me any suggestions? This is HSI Clock:while this is HSE:Thanks and best regards,Mario

Maximum CPU freq. with 3.3V power supply for STM32H7 series is 400 MHz. Is it the same for 1.8V?

I'm trying to generate a 2 second break from USART1 on a STM32F105. It's needed for a custom protocol running on top of LIN: the TX line must be driven low for 2 seconds.UARTs like 8250 and 16550 have a Set Break Enable Bit (SBE) in their Line Control Register that stays set until it's cleared by software, but the STM32F1 UART appears to reset the bit in hardware.Section 27.3.1 of the STM32F1 reference manual says:"A Break character is interpreted on receiving “0?s for a frame period. At the end of the break frame the transmitter inserts either 1 or 2 stop bits (logic “1? bit) to acknowledge the start bit."Further down in 27.3.2 Break Characters it says"Setting the SBK bit transmits a break character. The break frame length depends on the M bit (see Figure 279).If the SBK bit is set to ‘1’ a break character is sent on the TX line after completing the current character transmission. This bit is reset by hardware when the break character is completed (during the stop bit of the break c

Hi All,After a day or so of researching I feel more overwhelmed than anything regarding using SPI to communicate with SD cards!! There is so much STUFF out there regarding embedded c and SD cards - I don't even know where to begin! I've gone down sooo many rabbit holes trying to find even a basic starting point!I am having trouble finding documented guides on how to communicate with an SD card using the HAL libraries - nothing simple anyway, I see a lot on SDIO coms and the fatfs library but I am restricted to SPI. I am using the SD card as flash storage so I don't need to use the FATfs library, I plan on using it basically like SRAM for storing variables etc.One question I have to begin with I suppose, do I NEED a file system to communicate with an SD card?My initial plan was to use the HAL library SD card functions listed in the HAL drivers datasheet ( Section 43 in UM1940) but I'm struggling to find papers on how to go about this - especially regarding the commands needed for readin

Posted on July 13, 2018 at 12:01Hi, I'm trying to run EVAL-ST95HF_FW_V3.7.0 source code on STM32L4 processor but unfortunately I can't link the compiled objects because of undefined reference to 'PICCNFCDEP_ReplyCommand' and 'PICCNFCDEP_Init'. The definition of these functions is missing in EVAL-ST95HF_FW_V3.7.0 source code, I can find only the declaration of these functions in 'lib_nfcdeptarget.h'. Thanks for the help in advance. Kind regards,Maciej #piccnfcdep_replycommand #st95hf #undefined-reference #eval-st95hf_fw_v3.7.0 #eval-st95hf #piccnfcdep_init

HI,  I am considering the use of STM32F0 device for my project. How do I isolate the safety related code(for functional safety)  from the general code, so that a f/w update on the general code doesn't affect the safety related code? Are there any hardware provisions on the STM32 devices to help me isolate these sections? Or are there any software means to isolate the two?

Using STM32F030 / F042. I have a GPS receiver onboard which produces a very accurate pulse-per-second signal (~40ns). I want to use this timing source to keep the system clock, or at least the RTC accurate. The user may wander in and out of GPS reception, so the pulses may come at odd intervals, but when they come, their rising edges always align with the top of the second.I should add that I'm using an 8MHz crystal resonator (HSE).

How does one define the filter for a CAN A message, when the ID is only 11 bits?If using 16-bit filter, what should be put to the EXTID[17:15]?

I am trying to send a uint8 through the "Input Data" port on the I2C_Write block. According to the I2C polling example the block expects a uint8. However, when I build the C code and look at it in Keil I get an error in the "User's Data declarations for I2C_Write" saying "Error: Cannot take the address of an rvalue of type 'uint8_T' (aka 'unsigned char')I have provided screen shots of my project

STM32F722STM32CubeF7 Firmware Package V1.11.0 / 23-February-2018.Hi,In a custom board I've the STM32F722 connected to a 8GB eMMC with a 24Mhz clock.I'm having issue reading (sigle or multiple block ) with the DMA using the HAL_MMC_ReadBlocks_DMA function. If I continue to read, no problem occurs but if I stop to access the card in read or write mode, after about 3 minutes the HAL_MMC_ERROR_DATA_TIMEOUT interrupt is called. The FIFOCNT stay to 128, not cleared. The timeout is the SDMMC_DATATIMEOUT because changing it the interrupt time change whit it.I've to clean something in the HAL_MMC_RxCpltCallback?Thanks Roberto.

Hello,As soon as I enable STemWin in CubeMX, I cannot select TrueStudio IDE (see attached screenshot). In the forum, I found other posts with the information that this should work.My CubeMX verion is 4.27.0 (downloaded installer yesterday and tried a new installation).I use a STM32F767ZIT. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks for your support!Chris

As I understand it, NXP's NTAG family (NTAG 210u, NTAG 21x) are fully compliant NFC Forum Type 2 and ISO/IEC14443 Type A devices, and as such, they should work with the CR95HF. However, these tags have additional features, like an originality signature, that areoutside the scope of the standards. Are these additional features compatible as well, or are they only supported by NXP readers?

HELLO DaLao，May I ask you a question about how can I shoud use clrc663 to read 14443a tag (m24sr64) by a wireless way? Now,I can read and write MIFARE tag succesful, but can't do with 14443A tag? This do sucessful:status = phpalI14443p3a_ActivateCard(&I14443p3a, NULL, 0x00, bUid, &bLength, bSak, &bMoreCardsAvailable); This failed:PH_CHECK_SUCCESS_FCT(status, phKeyStore_SetKey(&Rc663keyStore, 0, 0,PH_KEYSTORE_KEY_TYPE_AES128, &Key[0], 0)); this function return 0x201.And I find that PH_KEYSTORE_KEY_TYPE_AES128 is not supported by this software lib, in that function the case of "PH_KEYSTORE_KEY_TYPE_AES128" is EMPTY!Finally, may I ask if the clrc663 can read/write with 14443a tag produced by other company? And, wether the software lib is complete to support to read/write with 14443a tag?Tanks a lot, have a nice day!

Hello,I have developed a cusom bootloader for STM32H743; the bootloader gets an image file from serial port, writes it in FLASH at address 0x08020000 and then jump to it.The function I have implemented for jumping is the usual one:void runApplication(uint32_t app_address)   {   McuDeInit();     HAL_SuspendTick();     /* Jump to user application */   JumpAddress = *(__IO uint32_t*)(app_address + 4);   JumpToApplication = (pFunction) JumpAddress;   /* Initialize user application's Stack Pointer */   __set_MSP(*(__IO uint32_t*) app_address);   JumpToApplication();   }First I do all uninitialization of peipherals and interrupts, then I set the SP and finally jump; app_address passed as parameter is equal to 0x08020000.Everything works perfectly if i compile and run the program in Debug mode, but i get an Hard Fault when I compile in Release Mode.I took a look at the disassemly which is obviously different:In Debug Mode:voi

While developing a driver for the ST25RU3993, I have encountered a problem where the MISO line appears to stop working. I had previously been able to read out the version ID register, oscillator status, etc. but now everything reads back as zero. There have been no hardware changes to the board, and this has happened on two separate (otherwise identical) boards.Even though MOSI is always zero, it appears that the ST25RU3993 is at least partially functional. The power consumption increases when I toggle the enable pin high, and it increases again when I command it (via SPI) to enable the RF field. The PLL is also running (I can see a 50kHz waveform on the loop filter pin).I believe that I first started having problems when trying to write the PLL Main registers. I found a bug here where PLL Main register 1 was being written incorrectly, and I know that getting PLL divisors wrong can cause problems e.g. in microcontrollers (basically overclocking the core which can cause damage) but sinc

Hello,I'm trying to get data from an external ADC (18bits) with an STM32l476RG nucleo board. There is a lot of overhead and I will improve it later but even the frequency clock is not fast enough. I don't understand why but the maximum clock frequency I get is 16Mhz (normally 40Mhz) and th signal is very durty. The systeme core clock is 80Mhz (trough the PLL and HSE) and the SPI prescaler is 2. I use cubeMx to configure the MCU:The system clock is configured like that:/** * @brief System Clock Configuration * @retval None */ void SystemClock_Config(void) {   RCC_OscInitTypeDef RCC_OscInitStruct; RCC_ClkInitTypeDef RCC_ClkInitStruct; RCC_PeriphCLKInitTypeDef PeriphClkInit;   /**Initializes the CPU, AHB and APB busses clocks */ RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSE; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSEState = RCC_HSE_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLState = RCC_PLL_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLSource = RCC_PLLSOURCE_HSE; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLM = 2; RCC_OscIn
