Hi, I'm using STM32L0 series and working on UART to communicate with other module and I had chosen the polling method because i know the device max response time and exact data what i'm going to receive. I was running my application for testing and it worked fine for 24 hours and then after and MCU not able to receive data even the module is responding i don't understand this scenario, can anyone please suggest what could be the problem. Thanks in advance.Regards,Vijay RakeshHAL_UART_Transmit(&huart1,A_Buff,7,200); HAL_UART_Receive(&huart1,Rx_Buf,4,5000); // Timeout value is 5 seconds to receive data

I use on STM32H743ZI-Nucleo PG0 as GPIO interrupt with Falling Edge. It works, I get INT triggered, but:an INT is also triggered - sometimes (once every 1000 falling edges) - on a raising edge. After several tests I am sure, this PG0 EXTI0 is randomly and sporadicly also triggered by a rising edge and dependent on when you clear the INT GPIO flag (e.g. much later) also on a low-level.It is very disappointing because I get false, spurious interrupts: Sometimes, when I clear the INT reason on my external chip (e.g. via SPI register write), the signal is de-asserted (goes high for a low-active interrupt) - this raising edge triggers again my EXTI0 ISR handler,in a random, sporadic way.I am sure, GP0 as EXTI0 with falling edge trigger does NOT work properly. And it looks like a HW bug inside the STM32H7 MCU itself:if I route the same signal from PG0 to PF3 and use EXTI3 ISR handler instead, with the same way to configure, handle INT, similar ISR etc. - all is fine, no spurious INTs.So, it c

Hello,In the datasheet for the STM32F423 , I see at the table 18 "Features depending on Power Supply range". I want to understand what will be the performance of the MCU if I power it with 1.8 V. I don't clearly understand the table. At the column "Max Flash memory access with wait states "I see for 1.8V 100MHz with 6 wait states, but then in the comment below the table I read that thanks to the ART accelerator the wait states mentioned in the table doesn't impact the execution speed as it is zero wait state... So why not just to write 100MHz with 0 WS in the table? What I am missing? Also in the table there is a column "IO operation " and for 1.8V I read " No io compensation " . What does it mean?Bottom line, I don't need ADC, DAC or any analog functionality. Can I work @ 1.8V with the same performance like with 3V?Thanks!

Hello,Can X-CUBE-SBSFU source code work with STM32H7 (STM32H743) too ?In the getting started it is said:"It comes with an example implementation running on the NUCLEO-L476RG, NUCLEO-L432KC, B-L475E-IOT01A, 32L496GDISCOVERY, NUCLEO-G071RB, 32F413HDISCOVERY, and 32F769IDISCOVERY platforms.".Thank,ranran

Hello.I downloaded and tried your "Secure boot & secure firmware update software expansion for STM32Cube" solution.https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-sbsfu.htmlIt works great on my Nucleo-64 board, and the next step what I wanted to do is port it to my own MCU (STM32F2xx).Here comes my question: Do you have any guide that shows step-by-step what to do exactly?I started with SECoreBin. I created a project for my own MCU. Changed the HAL, but got errors. I realized that, my MCU had sectors, instead of pages, okay, I changed that to fit my needs. Then I still got errors regarding the CRC, okay I changed that also. etc. etc. etc. Now I can compile everything (in the SECoreBin project), but I get linker errors. I probably have to change something in the linker script. So the bottom line is: whatever I do, I face a new problem. I am kinda lost in this work. This is why I need some kind of step-by-step guide. If such thing exists.Or an alternative question: Can I request an off

Hello there,I was wondering either it is possible (with STM32L4) to turn on a PWM channel for a certain amount of cycles or for a certain amount of time? Ideally, without any interrupts during this period or at the end.I am trying to figure out a way to re-trigger an external watchdog supervisor without breaking the MCU from sleep mode. For example, lets say the wdg device has to be retriggered every 500 ms and I would like to sleep the MCU for 2 seconds. With this functionality, I would configure the peripheral to do 4 cycles (assuming 500 ms period) or to work for 2 secs (any period less than 500 ms is ok). Turning the pwm peripheral without any timeout could cause a deadlock in the application. In case this is not possible, I thought of using an external multivibrator, that would make the additional line toggle for me while I am asleep... But its a bit too much.I would appreciate all help.

Hi,I am going to use internal osc for generating a frequency of signal 36khz. Do i need any external circuitry for it ..?For selection of 8Mhz frequency as clock can it be done in cube mx only and generate a source code form there...?Selection of prescaler for 8MHZ frequency to get signal of 36khz.

Am I correct in thinking that if I can only make changes to screen widgets from within the model::tick() function?I had passed the model pointer out to the remainder of my hardware app so it could push new updated data as it happened, but even though I saw the view code run to update the widgets, after their invalidate the screen image did not change.I did see a brief flash of the updated widget as the screen was switching to another one so it looks as if the change was happening but the refresh was not.If Instead of getting the model to update the presenter/view immediately when told from the outside world I set an internal flag and then from within the model:;tick I checked the flag and called the presenter the updates worked. So it looks as if the invalidate was not taking effect unless part of the model::tick call, is this correct?

STPM32 is used for an e-meter application. Idea is to use 2-pin UART connection, isolate only the RX and TX with optocouplers and not to use the SYN and SCS for reset.According to datasheet on page 68 the remote reset can be performed in two ways:·       Using SYN and SCS pin·       Writing the reset bit (S/W reset in DSP_CR3)Does this last option correctly reset the chip, especially the DSP unit? In this case, two optocouplers would not be needed for the SYN and SCS lines. Will it work as expected ?NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. We regularly review support cases and add any helpful ones here for all to benefit from.

I am using STM32F070 processor. I want to know a way of instructing the NVIC not to execute Timer interrupt in certain cases. Is there a way to do this? The situaltion is as follows-There are two interrupts- SPI and timer conifgured at same priority level. I have configured timer in auto reload mode. I process application either in SPI or timer interrupt but not both. The situation is that when application is being executed in SPI interrupt, timer interrupt also arrives because of timeout. In my case, I do not want this timer interrupt now as the work is already being done in SPI interrupt already. So I always set the UIF bit in TImer SR regiser in the SPI interrupt, hoping the the Timer interrrupt is acknowledged, and when SPI interrupt is exited, the timer interrupt is not executed anymore (or only in next timeout). But this doesnt work. The Timer interrrupt is always executed after SPI. I can not immediately stop the timer when I enter the SPI interrupt as I have to do some validati

Posted on August 03, 2017 at 22:55Hi guys, total newb question here: A few weeks back I got a STM32F429.  Immediately when I received it, I plugged it in and played with the demo software which seemed to work fine.  Busy with other things, I stored it away safely for the last few weeks.Just today I go to work with it, plug it back in and all I get is a white LCD screen, the COM LED is flashing periodically and the power LED is continuously on as shown in the image below.Despite having the ST-Link/V2 drivers installed, Windows does not acknowledge the board as a plugged in USB device.Searching this forum and Google have not provided me with any leads.  Anyone have any ideas? #white-screen #stm32f429

Hello,Is it possible to use STM32F746 based application with STM32H743 board ?What we actually need is to use SAFERTOS with stm32h743.The problem is that HighIntegritySystems seems to provide safeRTOS demos only with STM32H7 (according to their web site), and so for example I see:startup_stm32F746xx.c system_stm32f7xx.cIAR_STM32F7_SAFERTOS_LIB.aHAL source (probably for STM32H7)Do you think it can work with STM32H7 ?Thank you, ranran

Hello everyone,I am working on RTC of STM32F042C6. But I have a calibration problem. This is my measurement mechanism:For example: I’m measuring a +23,2 ppm error. I’m writing the value 24 (+23,2 ppm / 0,954 = 24 clocks) for the CALM bits of the CALR register. However, I observe that it masked 18 clocks instead of 24 clocks for 32 seconds period. The measurement unit can be count 10M for every second and 32 x 10000000 = 320000000 for 32 seconds period.32 seconds = 2^20 RTCCLK = 1048576 RTCCLK = 320000000 This is equal to 305 for 1 clock. The value of +23,2 ppm error is 9999768. The value of 1 clock masked is 9999768 + 305 = 10000073. The value of 2 clock masked is 9999768 + (2 x 305) = 10000378. The following table shows masked measurements marked in yellow. Here it is seen that 14 x 1 clock + 2 x 2 clock = 18 clock masked. But 24 clock should have been masked.I observe that the CALM value is written correctly:This is my code: RCC_APB1PeriphClockCmd(RCC_APB1Periph_PWR, ENABLE); PWR

I am getting pixel data to the stm32. I am reaching the "end of frame flag clearing" at:stm32l4xx_hal_dcmi.c ----> HAL_DCMI_IRQHandler() ----> (line 811)__HAL_DCMI_CLEAR_FLAG(hdcmi, DCMI_FLAG_FRAMERI);I am simply checking cameraBuffer[] pixel array using SNAPSHOT and CONTINUOUS modes without success.I am working on a DCMI camera interface between the NUCLEO-L496ZG board and a MT9V024 10-bit monochrome camera sensor used in 8-bit configuration. I have successfully been able to set the MT9V024 sensor to "capture mode" to retrieve a single pulse and give me 8 bits of data (using MT9V024 D2 through D10 and skipping two LSB pins B0 and B1). This will omit the two LSB data, but keep the upper eight bits. The MT9V024 is using 752x480 8-bit parallel frames, which use the HAL_DCMI_ConfigCROP() function in order to reduce the size of the image to 376x240. I set HAL_DCMI_Start_DMA(WIDTH*HEIGHT/4) since there are 32-bit words for DMA and 8-bits per pixel, so 4 pixels per word. I included the
