1. Background infoI'm designing a board for an STM32F767ZI microcontroller. This microcontroller has a primary oscillator for the `SYSCLK` (overall system clock) and a secondary oscillator for the `RTCCLK` (real-time clock).I selected the following crystal for the primary oscillator:  > NX3225GD-8MHZ-EXS00A-CG04874‎ [DigiKey: 644-1391-1-ND‎]And the following crystal for the secondary oscillator:  ‎> NX3215SA-32.768KHZ-EXS00A-MU00525‎ [DigiKey: 644-1386-1-ND‎]I selected the same crystals as those on the NUCLEO-F767ZI board from STMicroelectronics.2. Recommendations from STMicroelectronicsThe chip manufacturer recommends to provide a separate local GND-plane underneath each crystal. This GND-plane must be tied to the nearest GND-pin on the chip. I got that from Application Note AN2867:https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/application_note/c6/eb/5e/11/e3/69/43/eb/CD00221665.pdf/files/CD00221665.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.CD00221665.pdf.T

In debug mode, __HAL_DBGMCU_FREEZEZE_IWD() was used to stop the IWDG. Later, the HAL_Delay() function results in an infinite waiting state. I'd appreciate it if you could let me know the cause and solution.

Hello.I'm using STM32L476RGT and I have a question regarding uart error recovery.MCU is talk to slave MCU via UART, actually rs485.Now main MUC is talking to 3 slave MCUs via UART and it's working well but randomly, there happening uart error.Error code was overrun error so I disabled overrun error at CubeMx tool and this error disappeared but there happening another error, "noise error".When I get "HAL_UART_ErrorCallback()", I de-initialize uart and initialize again and waiting for next data via uart but it didn't work as I expected, even though uart data coming , there is no interrupt happening.I use below code when I get error callback.void HAL_UART_ErrorCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart) { uint16_t err = 0;   if(huart->Instance == rs485Port) { ERR("485 ERR...%d\n", huart->ErrorCode); ERR("gState 0x04%x, RxState 0x04%x\n", huart->gState, huart->RxState);   err = huart->Instance->RDR; err = huart->Instance->ISR; err = huart->Instance

hi.When I try to open the project file, it does not respond and it does not go any further.Perhaps this is happening since the update.attaching debug information, please confirm.

Hi!I have a basic code - blinking LED code which uses onboard LED (PC13). The problem is that it doesn't toggle at all, it just stay switched on and doesn't go off after delay. I've tested that code in debug mode and everything worked fine, it toggled, but it doesn't work out of debug. I can't get why it works only during debugging and how to fix that. Hello all.We have STemWin properly running on STM32L4R7, but STemWin uses quite a large amount of CPU time to draw display contents etc. We cannot allow that, because we have a time critical task to do (RealTime). So the sollution would be: use RTOS. We managed to setup RTOS nicely, switching between tasks by using "osDelay" works fine. But when we add STemWin the Gui_Exec takes quite long and needs to be interrupted by preeption. When this occurs, the PendSV Handler the instruction "ldmia.w r0!,{R4-R11,R14} crashes and jumps into the hard fault handler. Has anyone successfully used RTOS and STemWin with preemption on STM32L4Rx ?Thanks for any help.Attached project is generated with CubeMX5.2.1 for SW4STMWe use an FMC based Display. We didn't do anything fancy. We just configured the project with CubeMX. All libs and settings are provided by CubeMX Code Generation. What the __STM32F?xx_HAL_VERSION constant, defined in stm32f?xx_hal.c (where ? is STM32 cpu series) is for ?I would like to use this constant to check at compile time and display at run time what is the HAL library used in the firmware...But with my surprise, I discovered that the values defined is totally misaligned with the HAL version number....just to report here some example:Real HAL Version: STM32Cube_FW_F0_V1.10.0 --> __STM32F3xx_HAL_VERSION is defined as : 0x01070100and the file stm32f0xx_hal.c Contains:........../**  * @brief STM32F0xx HAL Driver version number V1.7.1 */#define __STM32F0xx_HAL_VERSION_MAIN  (0x01) /*!< [31:24] main version */#define __STM32F0xx_HAL_VERSION_SUB1  (0x07) /*!< [23:16] sub1 version */#define __STM32F0xx_HAL_VERSION_SUB2  (0x01) /*!< [15:8] sub2 version */#define __STM32F0xx_HAL_VERSION_RC   (0x00) /*!< [7:0] release candidate */ #define __STM32F0xx_HAL_VERSIO

I wanted to test event groups to replace a bin semaphore and as the title says, i can't enable xEventGroupSetBitFromISR on CMSISv1 nor CMSISv2 wrappers. Is there another way to enable that function? Maybe in a unofficial way?Regards,Carlos

I'm trying to enter STOP2 mode to save energy but the MCU get stuck in the function HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP2Mode(PWR_STOPENTRY_WFI). I have cleared all EXTI pending flags and RTC flags, and disable all five wake up pins. The MCU is supposed to wake up via RTC alarm interrupt. The program resumes by clearing RTC flag and calling system clock config and gpio init functions.I have done this with STANDBY and SHUTDOWN modes without trouble, and I can't understand why I can't enter STOP2 mode as well. Anyone has got an idea?

Hi to everybody, I am a total mcu beginner and I cannot compile a project. I did not write a single line of code, just tried to build. When I tried to do it I had 12 identical errors. What can I do? I have a STM32 F446RE Nucleo 64 board, Cube MX 5.1.0 and OpenSTM32 System Workbench 2.9.

I use STM32F102 and TIM2 timer in PWM1 mode to generate defined frequency and duty cyclesquare wave. I have some questions and I hope can get some help from experienced colleagues.1. I update the ARR/CCR1 register in an interrput which is defined by the communicationcycle and independent form timer frequency , which means I write the ARR/CCR1 asynchronuslyform Timer Update Event. I was afraid that the update event happens between the writing ofACC and CCR1 and the content of two registers became inconsistent. But if I disable theupdate event I got a missing pulse. How can I use the Timer to have always consistent ARR/CCR1 pairs and no missing pulses?       TIM2->EGR &= ~TIM_EGR_UG;      /* ... */      TIM2->ARR = periodCh1; // If the UpdateEvent happens here the pulse is missing!       TIM2->CCR1 = pulseCh1;      /*

Hello!I am using a board equipped with STM32F205 VCT7.https://www.hibot.co.jp/ecommerce/prod-detail/16During "Connect" with STM32CubeProgrammer, I accidentally dropped the main power of the board.Since then, such a screen came out when "Connect" was made.I had a problem like this before, I sent the board to the company that made this board and inquired. The company replied that "RDP was at Level 1, so I changed it to Level 0 with ST-LINK / V2 Utility."I think this problem can be solved by changing RDP, and when I try to change RDP from "Option Byte", such a screen appears. Why is RDP not changeable even though "Connect" is done?Help me.

Hi,The demo I use is SPC560BCxx_RLA CAN Test ApplicaiontDebug LOOP Mode is OK.In Normal Mode, when I use can_lld_transmit to send CAN messages, the status returned is always CAN_MSG_WAIT. Can you help me analyze this problem?A preliminary confirmation is that can_lld_is_tx_empty returns FALSE causing the whole problem. The configuration inside Demo is just to remove the FlexCAN Enable LoopBack.Below is SFR:

I have 2 Nucleo-144 with STM32H743ZIT. I've been using one to do development, but something I did seems to have corrupted something. My OS is windows 7 professional. When I plug the USB in the virtual com port does not appear. However, I know the driver is installed because the VCP does appear when I plug in the one I've never used. This tells me two things, the USB cable is working and the driver is installed.I connected the "bad" board and tried to update it's firmware with STM32CubeProgrammer, but the ST-LINK doesn't show up in the list. The "good" board will connect when I click the Connect button and when disconnect, if I start the update firmware process, ST-LINK shows up in the list as it should.A few days ago, I was working with a USB memory stick and wanted to eject it, but I ejected STM32-STlink and it seems thereafter, I can't get the "bad" board to connect. It had been working flawlessly until I did that. When I plug in the "good" board, the STM32-STlink device shows up. When

Hi all, I am trying to use internal temperature sensor on Nucleo L011K4 and using macro from LL library (__LL_ADC_CALC_TEMPERATURE_TYP_PARAMS) I get complete garbage. STM32Cube_FW_L0_V1.11.2STM32CubeMx 5.0.1LL libraries used, no HALADC is running in DMA mode with HW oversampling by 8, 12.5 clock S&H time (should be enough for TEMP sensor) and each ADC EOS this value again averaged in SW.When I looked closely to datasheet and reference manual I wrote my code without this macro and I still getting nonsense data out of it. I found that TS_CAL2 value from Factory Option bytes is far different than expected value, so when I used 670 constant instead - and I got something real temperature finally.Question 1: why at production calibration value is like 1.5 times bigger than supposed to be?Question 2: Is there a bug in LL macro? It looks like there one unnecessary multiply by 1000Question 3: Do I need to recalibrate temp sensor at 130C or can use different temperature?Question 4: Can I sto

Hi,I have a STM32F769I-EVAL sitting on my desk ready to be loaded with it's first QSPI Flash XIP application. However, after I fire up the programmer and go to select the external loader I find there isn't one. There is one for the FMC NOR Flash, but none for the QSPI Flash. The equivalent Discovery board has an external loader for their QSPI Flash. Unfortunately that external loader isn't compatible with the EVAL board (QSPI are on different pins).I'm not really interested in building my own or extending other programmers. I just want something off the shelf that works. Can someone tell me I haven't wasted my money on these boards?Cheers,David

I want write only some bytes but before that I have to erase a full sector. If I don´t want to loss data from that sector I will need save them.If sector size is 128Kb, how can I save all data? Thank you !

Hi there,I imported a Attolic studio project to the STM32CubeIDEand everything works execpt printf... I'm trying to get the sprintf running in the new STM32CubeIDE and there are already several fixes available:_estack = 0x2001ffff fix here: https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000AldaPzSQI/cubeide-sprintf-does-not-work-with-flinking issues: https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000AnrcyjSQA/how-to-use-float-in-printfUnfortunately, none of these fixes work for me... In my linker file there is the following line: _estack = 0x20020000;  /* end of 128K RAM */, which should be fine.My linker settings:gcc -mcpu=cortex-m4 -T"../stm32f4_flash.ld" --specs=nosys.specs -Wl,-Map="${ProjName}.map" -Wl,--gc-sections -static --specs=nano.specs -mfpu=fpv4-sp-d16 -mfloat-abi=hard -mthumb -u _printf_float -u _scanf_float -Wl,--start-group -lc -lm -Wl,--end-groupAs you can see, -u printf_float is added and in the map file ../arm-none-eabi/lib/thumb/v7e-m/fpv4-sp/hard\libc_nano.a(lib_a-

Posted on January 07, 2018 at 03:35 Hi I have my custom RF board using S2-LP and balunBALF-SPI2-01D3 ( /external-link.jspa?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.st.com%2Fcontent%2Fccc%2Fresource%2Ftechnical%2Fdocument%2Fdatasheet%2Fgroup3%2Fe9%2Fff%2Fcd%2F1e%2F4f%2Fdd%2F49%2Fb4%2FDM00417488%2Ffiles%2FDM004174pdf%2Fjcr%3Acontent%2Ftranslations%2Fen.DM004174pdf) and my custom board follows the evaluation design given in the balun data sheet. I am having problem with it: The host controller communicates fine with S2-LP over SPI (I can see the expected signals on oscilloscope for SCL, SDI, SDI and CS). Also SMPS 1 and 2 (pins 2 and 3 of S2-LP) show expected waveforms. But there is not signal on TX pin. Can anyone help me please?
