Hello everyone.I am trying to edit the baudrate using register header file without using HAL. I am working with STM32L4R5ZI and IAR complier.I found these lines in the header files but don't know how to use them./****************** Bit definition for USART_BRR register *******************/ #define USART_BRR_DIV_FRACTION_Pos (0U) #define USART_BRR_DIV_FRACTION_Msk (0xFUL << USART_BRR_DIV_FRACTION_Pos) /*!< 0x0000000F */ #define USART_BRR_DIV_FRACTION USART_BRR_DIV_FRACTION_Msk /*!< Fraction of USARTDIV */ #define USART_BRR_DIV_MANTISSA_Pos (4U) #define USART_BRR_DIV_MANTISSA_Msk (0xFFFUL << USART_BRR_DIV_MANTISSA_Pos) /*!< 0x0000FFF0 */ #define USART_BRR_DIV_MANTISSA USART_BRR_DIV_MANTISSA_Msk /*!< Mantissa of USARTDIV */I am trying to config USART3 to transmit some char only. Oversampling rate = 8, usart _ker_ckpres = 4MhzThank you guys in advance.

Hello All, How to obtain the time difference between successive occurrence of two CAN messages .I am sending some CANIDs every 0.7 seconds and my aim is to measure the time difference between the successive occurrence of the CANids on reception by another STM32 Node. For eg: I am sending CAN ID 13 and 14 approximately every 0.7 seconds . So when i use the "HAL_RTC_GetTime" function for every occurrence of this CANID and compute the time difference between the current occurence and the previous occurrence, i should get a floating point value correct to 4 decimal places..Steps i performed I implemented RTC functionalityIn the "RTC_CalendarConfig" function, i gave a value of 255 for the "Seconds Fraction" parameter of the RTC_TimeTypeDef.I then implemented the "HAL_RTC_GetTime" callback in the "HAL_CAN_RxFifo0MsgPendingCallback"function As and when i receive the CAN ID 13 and 14 , the time is getting printed. However, i am unable to understand the subseconds part. How should i interpret it

When I'm trying to send a ManageGPO RF command to activate GPO on a particular tag, the GPO is being triggered on any tag or on all tags within the reach of the reader (I use CR95HF for develompent), despite the fact I set UID and an address flag as follows:22 A9 02 [UID] 00/01The tag with the UID specified in the command responds with code 0x80 (success), other tags do not respond (devkit software provides code 0x8700 : Frame wait time out OR no tag) but GPO on those other tags is still being set/unset.GPO_CTRL and GPO_CTRL_Dyn registers are set to RF_USER 0x81

Hello.I want to use MCU (Cortex M4 core) as PMU for MPU (Cortex A7 core). Is it possible to use it in this way?For this I need the following:It's better to start MCU firmware from another source (not SRAM) - from non-volatile memory. Is it possible?Switch on/off MPU using MCU. For example toggle GPIO or using registers.Don't stop MCU firmware by MPU reboot.Move MPU to flashing mode and exit it using MCU.Is all this possible?

I just received my B-L072Z-LRWAN1 board in the mail. I want to use it with Arduino, but when I plug it in to my Ubuntu computer it is not recognized at all. Nothing shows up through 'dmesg' command, nothing shows up through 'lsusb' command.   If the OS can't see it, clearly the Arduino IDE can't see it.   Any ideas what is going wrong? (I've also tried multiple USB cables, and Ubuntu computers)

I already tried the site of st wiki. I only want to get to run the starter package for my work at the university. I saw that you can flash the sd-card wit windows-os. Is that right?I did it with CubeMxProgrammer. And the terminal said programming was succesfully. After I changed the switches on the backside. The Display stays black.Any ideas ?RegardsMax

In RM it is stated that in Engineering mode (BOOT pins at 3'b100) the MPU re-opens CA7 secure debug.I boot in that mode, then halt in openocd:stm32mp15x.cpu0: hardware has 6 breakpoints, 4 watchpoints > halt stm32mp15x.cpu0 rev 5, partnum c07, arch f, variant 0, implementor 41 target halted in Thumb state due to debug-request, current mode: Supervisor cpsr: 0x200001f3 pc: 0x00010fc0 MMU: enabled, D-Cache: disabled, I-Cache: enabled > mdw 0x5c005014 0x5c005014: 0000000fIn BSEC register 0x14 (DEBUG) there is 0xf - which means unsecure debug is enabled, but secure is disabled. Also MMU is enabled and 0x2ffc0000 is RO and 0x10000000 unmapped. Thus I can't upload and run A7 code via JTAG.Is it correct ? Is the only way to upload some code to new MP1 board only via USB/serialbootloader ?I ask because typical way for STM32 MCUs was to use Openocd to send some stub codefor Flash programming of new part but it doesn't seem to work here.Only way I found is to upload fake code via USB, break

Hi All,Currently, I'm working on project wherein I need the maximum number of UARTs I can get. After doing some research, I came across the STM32F091VC controller which has the 8 UART (max number of UARTs ST can provide). Unfortunately, there is not a single eval-board/ discovery/ nucleo board which has this controller with all UART's pin out on connectors. Hence, before I proceed with my own hardware design, I wanted to know, whether I can use all the 8 UART without any issue, or I've to use some sort of management to use all of them together. Any tips regarding board design, information regarding previous issues, or the link of other references would be highly appreciated. Regards,Aatif Shaikh

Hi,Do you know when the STM32G0316-DISCO will be available for buying?

I'm evaluating the STM32WB55 for use in a product which needs to read user input (button press and associated sensor data), and communicate it to another device over BLE. I'm using a pair of STM32WB55 Nucleo boards to communicate with each other over BLE. I'm using the BLE_p2pClient and BLE_p2pServer example programs as a starting point. I would like to reduce the latency as much as possible for sending notifications between the 2 boards. Currently, I'm able to start both boards and establish a connection between them. The example code is designed such that when you press a button on one board, an LED on the other board changes state. Using a logic analyzer to measure the delay between the button press and the LED changing, I'm seeing times that range from ~70ms to 150 ms. I'm trying to understand what parameters can be changed within the code to affect this time. I see that BLE has a connection interval spec that can range from 7.5ms to 4s. I b

Hi,I have a ethernet project running on a H743 and H753. The H743 is working fine. The H753 is not working. If the ETH_MAC clock is enabled I can see that the SWR bit in the DMAMR is set (software reset) and as soon as the RMII is selected as interface ( HAL_SYSCFG_ETHInterfaceSelect(SYSCFG_ETH_RMII); ) the SWR bit is reset by hardware. However, at the H753 the SWR bit is not cleared and the HAL driver will fail because of this sticked SWR bit.I have checked if all clocks (ETH_TX, ETH_RX and ETH_MAC) are enabled and this is the case. What is going wrong?

Is it possible to select NO startup screen in an application with TouchGFX Designer?Because I want to show no screen at the beginning until other initialisation-routines are processed.

If the target folder is changed to "Programs - System folder" during the installation, then the error message "No spaces allowed" appears! Is there a way to install there anyway?

I didn't find the topic about "Secure MCUs", so I posted the question here that relative to NFC.In the Secure NFC (https://www.st.com/en/secure-mcus/secure-nfc.html) section, there is a video on the bottom of the page, named "NFC secure mobile point of sales". In the video, the speaker used a smartphone to scan the credit card to complete a purchase through NFC, I wonder what roles the Secure NFC played in this demo. Actually I can implement the same function through the normal embedded NFC without the Secure NFC.

Hello,I'd like to connect EEPROM slave to I2C2 of STM32F767 MCU. EEPROM's supported clock is 1MHz. With 25 MHz HSE, I only managed to setup PCLK to 1.5625 MHz. Am I correct that it is imposible to setup I2C2 to 1 MHz with this setup? Thanks!

Hello.Attempt to debug the example code using 'J-LINK' in 'ST25RU3993-EVAL'.'J-LINK' has been connected to the entire line and no shock has occurred. But when I try to put the code on the board, it doesn't work normally and it's called "Could not connect to target."'TrueSTUDIO' is in use and debug settings are converted to 'J-LINK'. Please reply. Thank you.

I am try to connecting a STM32 Nucleo (F401RE) to a ESP8266 on UART.I've managed to control the ESP8266 with the PC using a usb/uart channel and hyperterminal.I've managed to send uart messages to the PC from the NucleoBut I am unable to command the ESP8266 from the Nucleo, the same commands that worked sent from my PC, do not work sent from the Nucleo. I've sent a simple char 't' just to see how it looks on the scope from both PC and Nucleo to comapre, and Im attaching my measurements, There is a difference between the usb/uart device and what the Nucleo sends, an Endian, it seems the Nucelo adds some '0' and I suspect this might cause the problem.this is my configuration of the Nucleo channel huart1.Instance = USART1; huart1.Init.BaudRate = 115200; huart1.Init.WordLength = UART_WORDLENGTH_8B; huart1.Init.StopBits = UART_STOPBITS_1; huart1.Init.Parity = UART_PARITY_NONE; huart1.Init.Mode = UART_MODE_TX_RX; huart1.Init.HwFlowCtl = UART_HWCON

I just got my dk2 kit, played with it a little bit, but the performance is so bad. it takes a lot to boot ~30sec and after that it is unresponsive, you click something, then several seconds later something happens. Is this considered normal, or it is just my board?

I'm interested in learning about TF-A, OPTEE, are some demos concerning these topics available? Is it possible to debug the CortexA core, through the embedded ST-LINK? I mean working solution, not in theory? What would be limitations debugging very early boot stuff, trusted world?

I have the zip file for X-CUBE-SBSFU. But I don't know how to add it to STM32CubeMX. I tried install from local on embedded software packages manager. But it did not work. Thanks!

Dear experts,A customer asks me to copy application from flash to RAM and run in RAM.Not sure if this is justified. If I remember correctly it is not so much on 'F4, but maybe on H7 RAM performs much better? Anyway they pay for this so...I've created a project in latest Atollic and selected Target settings-> Code location = RAM.It generates linker script where both code and data goes to DTCRAM at 0x20000000.From description of the memory layout in the H7 RM DTCM RAM area is not suitable for code:"The DTCM-RAM can be used as read-write segment to host critical real-time data (such asstack and heap) for application running on Cortex®-M7 CPU".But it seems to work, with cache disabled.I tried to change the link script: ITCM RAM for code and DTCM for data. This of course works. So, is DTCRAM good for code or it works by coincidence and not supported officially?Where I can find better explanation of the RAM parts of H753/743? Thanks,-- Pavel A.

Hello, ST expertsSTM32F415 runs at 168MHz speed on custom board. And UART1 is used between MCU and a peripheral. The UART baudrate is 460800bps. And UART1 global interrupt is the highest priority interrupt except Non maskable interrupt and Hard Fault interrupt. HAL_UART_Receive_IT keeps running to receive data one byte a time from peripharal. But overrun error keeps on happening, what might be the reason?Best RegardsYang

I'm working with an STM32L031F4 and I'm trying to calibrate the ADC to no avail. I'm wondering what it is that I'm missing here. With the code snippet below, I never get out of the while loop and the CALFACT stays at 0 (if I understand correctly, CALFACT should be updated with the calibration results upon completion). RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_ADCEN; ADC->CCR |= ADC_CCR_LFMEN; //set Low Frequency bit since I'm running <3.5M ADC1->CFGR2 |= (1 << 31); //set up clock for a /4 prescaler ADC1->CR |= ADC_CR_ADDIS; //ensure that ADC is off ADC1->CR |= ADC_CR_ADCAL; //start calibration while ((ADC1->ISR & ADC_ISR_EOCAL) == 0){} ADC1->ISR |= ADC_ISR_EOCAL;The ADC clock is enabled prior to attempting to calibrate...Clock is the MSI at 2.09M with a /4 prescaler set by CFGR2..I'm not overly concerned about this as I'm getting good data out of the ADC without calibration, but I'd like to understand why this isn't working. It looks like a HAL-based project u

I'm programming a custom board built around the STM32F401 MCU and I'm having a hard time configuring the system clock. I'm using a 8MHz external crystal and I'm trying to set up the PLL to get the maximum frequency given by the datasheet, i.e. 84MHz. I've double checked the values with the cubeMX Clock Configuration tab (i'm not using it to generate code though) and the reference manual, the resulting setup being like this:pll_m = 8,   pll_n = 336,   pll_p = 4,   pll_q = 7. the formula for SYSCLK frequency value isSYSCLK_freq = HSE_freq/pll_m*pll_n/pll_pwhich gives us8MHz/8*336/4 = 84MHzwhich is a maximal frequency the MCU can run on. There are some additional constrains on the clocks' values, but they are all satisfied with this setup. The problem is, it doesn't work. The software crashes even before the main() function - the clock setup function is called from the initialization code in reset handler, and the mcu crashes shortly after setting the sysclk
