Hi,Is it possible to add a MCU reset command to the debug toolbar? I.e. a button that does a pause then "monitor reset" type sequence? Of course I can do this manually in the debug console, but it'd be nice to have a button to do it, to complement the full restart button. Thanks!

I'm working on a project which is being ported over to be TrustZone aware, part of this project makes use of an OCTOSPI configured in memory mapped mode for file access. Base settings come from the IOC however the memory mapping is executed in source. In the non-TrustZone project this works without issue, however in the TrustZone aware one it is triggering a SecureFault upon trying to access a memory region. // Sample access that causes the SecureFault uint32_t testAccess = *(uint32_t *)0x90008000; The SAU reports an AUTHVIOL error for the address 0x9000_8000.The SAU is configured to enable NonSecure access to the region 0x9000_0000 through 0x9FFF_FFFF.The MPCWM settings have also been configured to mark the same region as NonSecure and UnprivilegedThe OCTOSPI DMA channel is configured for NonSecure and UnprivilegedThe MPU is disabled, however we have also tested with enabling the MPU in both contexts and mapping the same region to be Non-Secure, Unprivileged with no succ

Hi.I have Uart pins (Rx/Tx) PA3 and PA2 on STM32F407VET6. Can these pins be changed to I2C (SDA SCL) in the program? Are the pins on STM32 that have been assigned a protocol (SPI/I2C/Uart) constant and cannot be changed or replaced?Thank you.

Hello, I am working on a Riverdi Screen RVT101HVSNWC00 using STlink2, and I am trying to display colors using touchgfx designer. This is a screenshot from my Touchgfx designer ApplicationAnd this is the output on screen:I don't understand the logic of displaying colors...I thought at first that it is read as BGR instead of RGB but it's not the case because blue is displayed as black for example and red is displayed as green instead of blue.Do you have an explanation of this behavior?Could you help me resolve this issue?Thank you !

Hello,I am currently developing with the SPC582Bxx controller using the UDE STK Starter Kit for debugging. During runtime, the Program Counter appears to be stuck in a loop, and I am unable to identify the exact location of the hang. Could you provide guidance on how to troubleshoot this? Additionally, if a UDE STK debugging guide is available, please share it. Thank you.

Background: I have designed a new PCB, which includes a chip similar to one I've used on other PCBs, but with a different part number. The function names for this chip start with the part number. As mentioned, the new project uses a slightly different chip, with a different part number. To not start from scratch, I copied the chip-related files from a different project in the same workspace, and changed the function names. I used Refactor -> Rename to rename the functions, so it would do the source and header files in one go.But renaming didn't stop with the new project. It renamed identical function names in the older projects as well. All files where these functions were mentioned, were updated and saved. So now I have a file restoring task ahead of me. Thank Goodness for a cloud service with a file version history.Question:How do I avoid this in the future? I would very much like to limit renaming to a single project. But the only setting I have found regarding this is here:This i

Hi All,I am trying to send data to SPI1 via DMA1 Stream 0, using a timer to trigger DMA.Currently, I have used TIM4 Channel2 and Enabled DMA Update with DIER register (UDE bit).DMAMUX1 Channel 0 Request is set to 32.So far, this part seems to work: I have used a LED to monitor HT and TC flags of DMA, and it toggles at the speed it should. But the SPI does not send anything (I checked the MOSI and SCK lines with an oscilloscope)... as if TXDR register was not filled by the DMA.Do you have an idea of what is happening?I have checked that my buffer xyDacData is correct (not null), and also I monitored SPI CR1 as well as SPI SR with SWD debug, all seems OK (SR is null, CR1 shows SPE and CSTART at 1).Thank you!(About SSM and SSI bits, I have set these to test, but they should be useless, since I am in master transmitter mode.. /* * FBx_XY.c * * Created on: Sep 10, 2024 * Author: Thomas */ #include "main.h" #define XY_SYNC_BITS (24 + 8) // Take some margin #define DURATION_SPI_

Hi, Post-development testing of the acceleration sensor reveals that the collected XYZ axis values are inconsistent with the actual physical acceleration values, and one axis continuously outputs a value of 0.What is the specific corresponding relationship between the sensor’s feedback value and the actual physical value?I also hope you can provide relevant technical parameters (such as sensitivity, zero offset) and calculation formulas for reference, so as to help us troubleshoot the problem quickly.thank you!!

Hi again,I'm looking to implement a character limit on a keyboard, as seen by the red 30/30 text in the screen below. In CustomKeyboard.hpp I added: /** * The buffer used to hold the ASCII representation of the key count (e.g., "5/30"). */ Unicode::UnicodeChar keyCountTextAreaBuffer[KEYCOUNTTEXTAREA_SIZE]; /** * Used to display the count of the characters entered / total allowed. */ TextAreaWithOneWildcard keyCountTextArea; And in CustomKeyboard.cpp there's some logic to add that textArea to the screen:CustomKeyboard::CustomKeyboard() : keyboard(), keyCountTextArea(), modeBtnTextArea(), enterBtnTextArea(), capslockPressed(this, &CustomKeyboard::capslockPressedHandler), backspacePressed(this, &CustomKeyboard::backspacePressedHandler), modePressed(this, &CustomKeyboard::modePressedHandler), enterPressed(this, &CustomKeyboard::enterPressedHandler), keyPressed(this, &CustomKeyboard::keyPressedHandler), alphaKeys(true), uppercaseKeys(false), f

Hello, i am stuck on UART topic and i have an argument with someone. He states that ReadMemory(0x11) is sent by STM32. Is that really so? Does STM32 at any point sends "0x11" as response? I must be missing something...

I have a requirement to implement the BLE SPP protocol that will eventually be ported to the STM32WB1MCC module. Since I am totally new to BLE, I'd like a recommendation for a place to start. Specifically which demo or eval board and associated software. For example, is the NUCLEO-WB51CC the best (most supported and easily ported)? Thanks, Dave

Hi in an dual core stm32h7, if we use each iwdg for each cores, when iwdg trigger reset,it will reset the particular core or both the cores will reset. If particular core reset happens means, how to manage the other core from initial boot.Suppose if cm7 IWDG trigger reset, meanwhile cm4 is running on other side, during this time after cm7 reset we have to read the iwdg register, then perform nvic reset? If cm4 iwdg trigger reset, it will affect the other side running cm7 core.  Regards,Srinath

Hardware / DT:I’m using ST M24M02DR (2 Mbit I²C EEPROM, page size 256 bytes, write cycle ~10 ms per byte/page) at 400 kHz. Device tree:eeprom@50 { compatible = "st,m24m02-dr", "atmel,24c2048"; reg = <0x50>; pagesize = <256>; num-addresses = <4>; }Per ST’s datasheet, page size is 256 bytes and both byte write and page write complete within ~10 ms. But always kernel is detecting as 128 bytes/write"[ 2.233319] at24 1-0050: 262144 byte 24c2048 EEPROM, writable, 128 bytes/write"Observation in Linux driver (at24):In drivers/misc/eeprom/at24.c, the driver uses an I/O transfer limit (at24_io_limit) to avoid holding the I²C bus for too long. That limit is 128 bytes, enforced as a power-of-two so writes align with pages:/** ... With a 100 kHz I2C clock, one 256 byte read takes about 1/43 second ...* This value is forced to be a power of two so that writes align on pages.*/As a result, even if pagesize = <256>, the driver will chunk writes at min(pagesize, at24_io_limi

Hello, I'm posting a new message because the previous one was not answered with successful connection. The problem is that when MCU is populated on my board with Read-Our Protection enabled, it is not possible to connect STM32CubeProgrammer v.2.21.0 to that MCU, it becomes a brick. This option was available in the version 2.0.0. that doesn't work on Windows 11.How can be done two step connection: 1) full erase and 2) connection ? Thanks,Alex

STMicroelectronics Support Team,I am currently working on a project using the ST67W611M1 Wi-Fi module and I would like to request your technical support regarding a platform migration.I have successfully validated the ST67W611M1 using the STM32U575ZI-Q Nucleo board, running the test and reference applications provided in X-CUBE-ST67W61.With this setup, the NCP firmware, AT command interface, and Wi-Fi connectivity are all working as expected. My objective is now to migrate this implementation from the STM32U575ZI-Q (STM32U5 series) to an STM32G0B1RE, which will be the target MCU for the final product.Given the architectural differences between the STM32U5 and STM32G0 families (clock tree, peripherals, HAL configuration, and BSP adaptations), I would appreciate your guidance on the following points:Recommended procedure or reference examples for migrating the ST67W611M1 host firmware from STM32U5 to STM32G0Any known limitations or constraints when using the ST67W611M1 with the STM32G0 se

Hi, in STM32H7 dual core, i have an example of data sharing between the core using ring buffer method, here when caches are enabled, the data sharing is not happening what will be the reason. when caches enabling lines are disabled data sharing is happening.  ring buffer is placed in D3 SRAM        regards. I've connected all pins to the LCD and I've set in CubeMX the FMC like this: But when I tried to run the program, all calls from main.c is calling MX_FMC_Init(); then is going in this function: HAL_StatusTypeDef FMC_NORSRAM_Init(FMC_NORSRAM_TypeDef *Device, const FMC_NORSRAM_InitTypeDef *Init) { .. __FMC_NORSRAM_DISABLE(Device, Init->NSBank); .. And soon this macro is executed function MemManage_Handler() is called: /** * @brief This function handles Memory management fault. */ void MemManage_Handler(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN MemoryManagement_IRQn 0 */ SerialPrint("MemManager_Handler fault.."); /* USER CODE END MemoryManagement_IRQn 0 */ while (1) { /* USER CODE BEGIN W1_MemoryManagement_IRQn 0 */ /* U

Hello,Today I opened VS Code to work on my project and noticed the update was available. That's awesome, but typically we're forced to freeze our toolchain once we release the code to product, to avoid the risk that updates have unwanted side effects. Right now I've been evaluating whether we can use VS Code, or if we better stay with tried and true CubeIDE.It's fine for hobbyists to always update to the bleeding edge, but what about anyone using STM32 micro for application in automotive, medical, and defense application? It's a requirement to know that every possible change is tested before releasing code to the product, including toolchain and IDE updates. We can't know if there's a bug on day 0 of the release, of course! Can we understand if the ability to freeze version is on the development roadmap of the VS code plugin? If not ever, any safety critical application should probably avoid it, don't you think? Thanks.

Hello,I apologise in advance if my post lacks any important information, I am very new to working with these sorts of boards and have limited experience with motor control in general. I am using a B-G431-ESC1 to drive a 24V hoverboard motor. I have profiled the motor and uploaded the firmware to it and it runs just fine on the motor pilot with FOC speed control. I had also used the potentiometer on the ESC to change the speed without issue.I wanted to switch to using PWM signals to control the speed of the motor, and reuploaded the firmware to the board with the potentiometer option disabled and the Electronic Speed Control option enabled for the stage configuration. Using an ESP32 I generate a 490Hz PWM signal and first send 1060us pulses to the ESC (verified with an oscilloscope). I then send a new PWM to the ESC where the signal is high for 1850us. My expectation was that the initial 1060us PWM would arm the driver, and then the 1850us PWM would command the ESC to dri

Hi I cannot ask a a question on x-cube-cellular because there is no lable for it.   Also the ST87M01 4G NB-iot modem has no label. So i cannot ask a question about it.   Arggg, Regards, Hans.

The ST87M01 NBIOT module has been announced but is only going to large scale manufacturers at present as samples. Does anyone know roughly how long it’s likely to be before it would be available to us smaller players?

Please read this post: How to insert source code. I have a STM32L433RCT3 and I'm exploring using the USART wakeup feature from STOP1 on RXNE. To improve the wakeup time and not miss any data, I clock the USART directly from the HSI and I configured the wakeup clock to be the HSI. I'm wondering if someone could confirm this is a safe thing to do at 115200 baudrate? I'd rather not use the USART's UCESM: USART Clock Enable in Stop mode bit to keep the clock running in STOP1 mode (significantly more sleep current). From what I understand, the HSI takes a maximum of 6.2us to start up & stabilize? (Section 6.3.8 of Datasheet). Do you add the startup time (1.2us) and the stabilize time (5us) or do I just take the stabilize time? At 115200 baudrate, there is a bit coming every 8.68us. Theoretically, do I ha
