We have been playing with the NUCLEO-C071RB for a few weeks, waiting for our first revision of a board using the STM32C071KBT to be fabricated and assembled. We got most things going without issue, including USB CDC + HID. Power up of the custom board went smoothly in that there was no smoke, however getting basic things going has been a struggle. Initial notes:1. The MCU is connected to a DFP of a Microchip HUB (USB5744).2. One of the goals was to ensure the HUB could startup / enumerate even when the MCU was blank, and hopefully end up in DFU mode, for initial programming (just enumerated under the HUB vs direct connect to HOST). As such, we did our best to ensure pins were connected such that they do not trigger one of the other boot loops (and for example, get stuck in UART, etc.), or cause odd behavior with the HUB especially. We reviewed AN2606 about a million times. Issues and observations:1. We can't seem to get the MCU USB to enumerate (at all). D

Hi there! Apologies if this is not the right place to be asking this question, but I'm deep in the weeds writing my own motor controller from scratch, and have a question about timing:My setup uses the STSpin233 with three-shunt low-side current sensing, and an stm32f4 microcontroller. I am using freeRTOS, and have a single task dedicated to motor control. (I have no other tasks yet, but intend to have some other tasks for UI management and audio processing later).At the moment, the way I've structured things is:I have a timer that triggers simultaneous ADC reads of my three shunt resistors at the center of my center-aligned PWM waveformI have an ISR that fires when the ADC conversion is complete. Within this ISR, I release a semaphore. This is the only work done in the ISR.in my main while() loop, I pause to check for this semaphore. When it's released, I run my actual control loop (read from an angle sensor via SPI, FOC/SVM stuff, update PWM duties).I am running my PWM at 20kHz (so,

This previous thread refershttps://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/stm32f4xx-does-going-up-a-package-pin-count-impact-pin-af/td-p/862282The 437 is curiously a very close superset of the 417. Apart from the extra 64k RAM, the only difference is which ADC channel is used to read Vbat. And of course the device ID is changed. This makes the 437 a very easy and useful upgrade from the 407/417.My Q is whether AF mapping is really identical, so that a 417 project can access the additional 437 peripherals (e.g. SPI4,5,6) by going to a larger pin count package.Comparing the data sheets, it does not appear that the 437 gives you any new peripheral access without going to a larger package i.e. it does not offer any new AF flexibility. For example you cannot access SPI4-6 on the QFP100.I am using the 437 for the extra 64k RAM. I check the device ID. This is 0x413 or 0x419 for the 417 or 437. If I detect the 437 I move the general stack 64k higher and fix up the Vbat measurement.

Hello,ST has released the STM32MP1 and the newer STM32MP2 series of MPU products. I would like to know what the roadmap looks like after the STM32MP2.Is there any information available about the next-generation STM32 MPU family (e.g., a potential STM32MP3 or a new architecture)?Any official hints or timelines would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Title edited to clarify that STM32H7 Nucleo-144 boards is the subject.Table 5 on Page 20 of UM2407 contains erroneous info on the STDC14 connector. I am very sure that the descriptions for STDC14 pins 8 and 12 are wrong, maybe others aswell.

Hi,I've implemented a USBX Audio device correctly using ThreadX and the USBX Middleware on an STM32U5 (working as a speaker).I would like now, to implement a microphone using the same USBX Middleware. For that, I would like to figure out if there are some sort of examples where the microphone is implemented (including device descriptors).I'm seeing this old conversation https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/usbx-mic-streaming-on-wba65/m-p/851912#M288041, but no follow-up has been provided.I don't mind an example of any other microcontroller, but I would really love to see it implemented with USBX MiddlewareThanks

MCU: STM32F767ZI-NUCLEOSTM32CubeIDE Version 1.19.0Hello Everyone!We are trying to make the MCU enter DFU mode through firmware (without connecting BOOT0 and VDD). DFU mode works well, but we do not know how to determine USBD_DFU_APP_DEFAULT_ADD and USBD_DFU_APP_MASK (0x2FFE0000) in order to exit DFU mode in the following code(Line 37 in the code always fails.).typedef void (*pFunction)(void); pFunction JumpToApplication; uint32_t JumpAddress; int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */ /* USER CODE END SysInit */ /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_USB_DEVICE_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ if(HAL_GPIO_Read

Even without HAL, you have a uniform way to obtain the UID."uint32_t uid[3]; uid[0] = *(uint32_t *)UID_BASE; uid[1] = *(uint32_t *)(UID_BASE + 4); uid[2] = *(uint32_t *)(UID_BASE + 8); I believe this references the 0x04 and 0x08 offset from a reference manual, however this is an offset in bytes, and uid in this example is a 32bit variable.In this example are you not then offsetting by 4 times as much each time and actually missing most of the unique ID? I believe the actual code should offset by 1 32 bit object, i.e:uint32_t uid[3]; uid[0] = *(uint32_t *)UID_BASE; uid[1] = *(uint32_t *)(UID_BASE + 1); uid[2] = *(uint32_t *)(UID_BASE + 2);

Hello Everyone, Since the STM32CubeMX .ioc file does not exist for the DAC_GenerateWaveform_TriggerHW example code (as usual), does anyone have suggestions/recommendations on the best way to recreate it? Seems like I need to make iterative guesses in STM32CubeMX and then see if the numbers start matching up in the original DAC_GenerateWaveform_TriggerHW example code? Thanks! C:\ST\STM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.12.1\Projects\NUCLEO-H7A3ZI-Q\Examples_LL\DAC\DAC_GenerateWaveform_TriggerHW\Src\main.c

Can STM32L051 set LSE be LPUART clock source to wake up the MCU? If yes, how to configure.

Team, I have designed Custom Board with STM32F303Rb device and Having USB FS Communication and PWM Compare Output. I m Using The 8Mhz SMD Crystal (YXC make) : https://www.hxcyic.com/upload/202311/27/202311272250036173.pdf Datasheet States CL = 20 pF , Cs = 3 pF and ESR = 80 ohm. From this post : https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-select-a-compatible-crystal-and-load-capacitors-for-stm32/ta-p/780236 Deriving Excel Calculation , CL1=CL2 terms out 33pF. Which I populated On Board. Issue : Sometimes , I am getting Pulse missing Issue during the Run time...Not sure why  I just want to Verify the CL Value I am using is Corect or Not ? Previously , I was Using Through hole part HC-49S Crystal with CL1=CL2=20pF. @mƎALLEm

Hi there! Thank you for reading this.Where has the support for exporting footprints/symbols to Altium Designer from STM32CubeMX gone?In the promotional video from https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubemx.html it appears there is an option for doing this, but when I try it on a recent version of STM32CubeMX no option is available.What am I missing here? Check following screenshot of promotional video vs. STM32CubeMX side by side.STM32CubeMX version: 6.16.0

Hello!I have an MQTT project using NetX Duo, which publishes MQTT messages to a remote server. But, before it can do that, a secure connection must be established using TLS v1.2, which takes about 18-20 seconds (checked while debugging and stepping through the connect function). So, I wanted to find a way to make that process faster.I found this post on the forums, here (porting Mbed TLS to the STM32H5 platform with hardware crypto acceleration). But this raised some questions for me. Firstly, how to exactly implement this in the NetX Duo's TLS setup (if even possible)? And secondly, I am missing the AES option in the CubeMX settings - is that correct or I am missing something? I only have PKA, HASH, RNG and GTZC options.I checked the included files in the above linked post on how to port the mbedTLS, but was a bit overwhelmed as how would one implement it into the NetX Duo's TLS connection setup. I am using an RSA key(s) for the secure connection. I was hoping that someone might

I have bought a new eval board from semikart via aquatronics. The device mounted on dil 24 of mk1251 kit is lsm6dsv320. The whoamI address of the device is 0x73 but it was not coming when we integrate with nucleo board. So, I waited for eval kit IKS4A1 to double check which I had ordered on coming of eval mk1251. I got MEMS Studio running on a windows 11 machine. But when I opted for dil sensor lsm6dsv320 , it threw inconsistent whoAMI address error. I am trying to contact semikart and aquatronics from last 10 days but none of them are responding. kindly tell a way to correct it or replace the eval kit mk1251.

I would like to implement delay signal output with STM32 MCU.So I use the original signal input for EXT interrupt.EXT interrupt's callback activates the timerIf a timer callback is called after a time delay of the desired value, it is implemented by setting the GPIO pin to HIGH.However, it can be confirmed that the desired amount of delay is achieved, but the timing of the pin becoming HIGH varies each time, and it takes about 1.5 to 1.8us between EXT and TIMER.I would like to know if the idea can be implemented as STM32 MCU series. also posting my Clock Configuration pic

Hello,I tested the new STM32CubeIDE 2.0 today and was initially confused that CubeMX opened when I double-clicked on the *.ioc file. However, this is listed as a new feature in the release notes.Unfortunately, this feature completely destroys my projects.When the code is generated, these settings in the CubeIDE project change:- Targeted Language changes from C++ to C- Linked folders are deleted- Configurations: DEBUG, SYSTEM added- Linker file settings from own configurations deletedDid I make a mistake in the settings? Why is the project changed so much?Best regards,Jens

Hello everyone — I’m running an AI image-classification model on the STM32N6570-DK and I’m stuck with a reproducible problem. The first inference completes successfully (EVENT_DONE), but on the second run the code gets stuck inside the runtime (run_epoch) with no event returned; on the third attempt it again stalls and then triggers a HardFault. I followed the ST tutorial here when creating the project:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-build-an-ai-application-from-scratch-on-the-stm32n6570-dk/ta-p/825591Below are the full details, steps to reproduce, debug info, things I’ve tried, and the files I’ve attached.EnvironmentBoard: STM32N6570-DKModel: Image Classification (generated with STM32Cube.AI)Model and weights: placed in xSPI1 / xSPI2 (QSPI/XSPI) and also copied to internal SRAM for some buffersSRAM clocks: enabled for SRAM3, SRAM4, SRAM5, SRAM6Toolchain:  STM32Cube IDE  - Latest versionCubeMX / Cube.AI version: Latest VersionRTOS: (bare-metal / FreeRTOS) : Bare

Hi - I have a new application where I'm trying to slave 1 axis to another axis. The application is an autonomous winch. The master axis drives the winch drum, the slave axis drives a level wind that makes sure the winch line is approaching the drum at a 90 degree angle as the winch line moves back and forth across the winch drum. The slave rotation rate needs to run at a fixed ratio to the master rotation rate, somewhere around 0.1X the master speed. When the line reaches the end of the drum, the slave needs to dwell (slave speed = 0) for a fraction of a rotation and then reverse direction at the same speed ratio. I can sense the line reaching the end of the drum very precisely with an external sensor. Both motors will be BLDC with encoders.I've been using the STEvalServo1 for a different application and have learned a lot. I have some questions about which eval board would be suitable for this application.There are 3 complications.1. In some situations, the master will be running in c

Hello,In a typical example, there is the following linker script: /* Highest address of the user mode stack */ _estack = ORIGIN(RAM) + LENGTH(RAM); /* end of "RAM" Ram type memory */ _Min_Heap_Size = 0x200; /* required amount of heap */ _Min_Stack_Size = 0x400; /* required amount of stack */ : : ._user_heap_stack : { . = ALIGN(8); PROVIDE ( end = . ); PROVIDE ( _end = . ); . = . + _Min_Heap_Size; . = . + _Min_Stack_Size; . = ALIGN(8); } >RAM  On paper, the intention is the stack has an allocation of _Min_Stack_Size (0x400) bytes. So far so good.However, the location _Min_Stack_Size seems to have nothing to do with _estack which the is actual address assigned to the MSP by the start-up code.The map file shows that "stack" is located between 0x20000208 and 0x20000608. ._user_heap_stack 0x0000000020000004 0x604 load address 0x0000000008000c5c 0x0000000020000008 . = ALIGN (0x8) *fill* 0x0000000020000004 0x4 [!provide] PROVIDE (end = .) 0x000000002000

Dear,I have an application that is very simple and instead of hooking up a STM32C01x to the ST87M01 I would like to know if I can program my own application inside of it? Regards,Roland

Hi team,I have seen example of C4MINI1 daisy chaining BMSCCTX with BMSCC which is working fine.I have 2 BMSCCTX, so i was wondering that i can connect 2 BMSCCTX for daisy chaining with C4MINI1.But i have noticed that in the datasheet of CCTX, the daisy chain receiving pins are not mounted inside,(which is mounted for BMSCC only. So does it mean i cant use 2 BMSCCTX as node and use dual access configuration?Can anyone explain about this please.Thank You.

Hi, I am using an STM32H755XIH6 MCU in a custom design. I want to use only LDO supply configuration for the internal power regulator that provides the VCORE and I don't really intend to use the SMPS configuration. My schematic has some hardware mistakes, just want to understand their impact before doing a rev. 1. According to RM0399, Section 7.4 - Figure 22, when using LDO supply, do we still need the cap (mentioned) on the VCAP pin? Is it recommended or mandatory? Would it cause major issues if its left floating for example? 1.1. Follow up question on this, is if we plan to use LDO only, does the VDDSMPS and VFBSMPS pin state matter? I have mistakenly left VFBSMPS floating and it's impossible to access it without revving the board. 2. If we don't plan to use VBAT (backup battery), it is given in RM0399, Section 7.4 that VBAT must be connected to VDD if battery is not used and needs a 100nF ceramic decoupling cap on VBAT pin (mentioned in RM0399 Section 7.4.4).

Hi, I designed a board with a STM32U535 that connects to a USB host. I wanted to perform my production programming by doing the first flash over USB, without any test jig to pull-up/down any pin. But I've just realized in AN2606, that, from my understanding:- The U535 devices uses Pattern 12 to enter the bootloader- The pattern 12 doesn't have "main flash empty" condition like most other patterns/families.In this pattern 12, I see lots of conditions that I don't really understand (especially the ones with NSBOOTADD0, reference that is not documented anywhere else in this document).Is there a way to enter the bootloader by using only the USB connection, without actively forcing BOOT0 to 1 ?

Hello,I would like to calculate a CRC-16/IBM-SDLC.I configure the CRC_HandleTypeDef structure as below for HAL_CRC_Init function:h->Init.DefaultPolynomialUse = DEFAULT_POLYNOMIAL_DISABLE;h->Init.DefaultInitValueUse = DEFAULT_INIT_VALUE_DISABLE;h->Init.GeneratingPolynomial = 0x00001021U;h->Init.CRCLength = CRC_POLYLENGTH_16B;h->Init.InitValue = 0x0000FFFFU;h->Init.InputDataInversionMode = CRC_INPUTDATA_INVERSION_BYTE;h->Init.OutputDataInversionMode = CRC_OUTPUTDATA_INVERSION_ENABLE;h->InputDataFormat = CRC_INPUTDATA_FORMAT_BYTES;But it seems that the parameters 'InputDataInversionMode' and 'OutputDataInversionMode' have no effect because I get 0xA60C as result for input 0x11 0x22 0x33 0x44 what it is matching with CRC-16/GENIBUS.Someone could be help me to understand the issue?

Hi,Could you please confirm me the type of CRC16 used for data sent to a STSAFE-A110 chip? (CRC-A?, CRC-ARC?, CRC-CCITT?, ...)Thanks a lot.
