I have a 10 mhz external clock. I want to generate a phased locked division down to 1hz exclusively with timers. In my current test setup I am generating the 10mhz using TIM1 from the internal clock (this is to simulate the external clock). I am putting that out on a pin and I see that on a scope and it looks reasonable. So far I have tried bringing that signal into timer 2 etr2 as the clock source for TIM2_ch2 as the TIM2 clock source and setting up the timer to divide 10mhz down to 1hz but it is not working. Maybe I am missing something about using an external clock for a timer. Also is there a better way to do this? The actual external clock that will be used is a very high accuracy device. This test board is an F4 discovery boardHere is the timer 2 initialization code:static void MX_TIM2_Init(void)   {       TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig = {0};   TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0};   TIM_OC_InitTypeDef sConfigOC = {0};   &nbsp

I am trying to get the demostration firmware to output some logs through UART or USART but was not able to do so.Both USB cables are connected (micro and mini) and I used Putty to connect to the Mini USB interface (ST link USB port). I also put the board in the USB mode. From the firmware side, I ensured that I recompiled and reflashed withUSE_LOGGER=1 -- was =2 originally in the exampleI was not able to get anything out of the Putty connection, though all other functions are working ok.Is there something I'm missing from my setup? or any physical jumpers that I need to change.Attached are some of the logging code from the example firmware.THanks in advance.

I am trying to set a baseline for low power measurements in my own application. To do this, I imported the PWR_STANDBY_RTC example in the STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.3.0 repository and installed it on the P-NUCLEO-WB55. I then powered the board via 5V_EXT and connected a Keithley DMM6500 across JP2.In this configuration, I measure about 10 mA when LED2 is flashing and about 499 uA when it turns off (should be in standby mode). The latter value is unexpectedly high, which makes me think I'm missing something. Are there additional steps required in order to measure standby current draw correctly with this example running on the P-NUCLEO-WB55?Michael

I want to use container as Drawable*, so I can use methods like moveTo() etc. to move the container around.I have my container in View, which is selectorboxContainer, which inherits from selectorboxContainerBase, which inherits from touchgfx::Container, which inheirts from Drawable.I can get Drawable* to this object using this method:Drawable* selectorbox = getFirstChild();But I cannot do it like this:Drawable* selectorbox = (Drawable*) selectorBox1;I get error: error: invalid cast from type 'selectorboxContainer' to type 'touchgfx::Drawable*'Why getFirstChild() can cast my container to Drawable*, but I cannot do it by casting?I don't want to use getFirstChild(), because it blindly picks Drawable based on order, instead of the drawable name. If someone reorders drawables, it will break the application.

Hi, I have a design where I have multiple GPIO interrupts and some share the same interrupt input line, for example EXTI10_15. How can I differentiate in the interrupt callback routine which GPIO triggered the interrupt aside from reading these GPIOs' input states? Thanks,Doug Burrell

I have seen some stm32mp157 boards from third parties do have a backup 3VDC battery attached to their RTCs, so it won't lose the time when powered off. Is there any way to connect a backup battery to the RTC circuit on the stm32mp157c-dk2 board?-albertr

Hellois it possible to set 2 fonts for a text, for exemple i have following text that must be i the middle of the screen: <value>%I want value wildcard to be in 17px and % char in 20px, is it possible ?If it is not possible, i have to use 2 text areas; How can i center these 2 text areas (how an i calculate the length...) ?Thank for any supportBest regards

Can we assign to any of the gpio for driving lcd? Does ST provide any driver for 8 bit lcd interface?

Hello! As the question/topic title says, I'm new to MCU programming. I've touched C# (Unity) before and programmed an intelligent display by 4DSystems for a few applications. Unfortunately we've found some limitations on said intelligent display, so I was tasked with moving on to a better alternative (which would be the STM32F779 series). With the intro out of the way, I've looked around and saw that there is a step by step guide using the NUCLEO-L476RG. I figured I would be able to adapt the guide to the STM32F779I-EVAL board, but I'm not having much luck. Using STM32CubeMX I created a new project selecting the EVAL board, which automatically selects the STM32F779NIHx as the chip, generated the code and opened it up in TrueStudio. After attempting to follow/convert the guide over to the EVAL board (and not succeeding), here are a few questions:Checking over the GPIO configuration in STM32CubeMX shows that there are 4 configured LEDs (LED0 - Green - PI15, LED1 - Orange - PJ0, LED2 - Red

Hi I'm trying to configure my project with STM32CubeIde 1.2.1I want to use ADC1 to perform temperature and vrefint measurement. So I configure my adc & dma :But I'm not enable in cube to enable the DMA option, only disable is possible. If I enable the flag manually in the code generated, I don't have any problem and the code is running as expected (continuous acquisition of both channel with an interrupt each time the acquisition is complete) Is there a reason this option isn't possible in cube ?

Hello, I am using STM32L4R9AI, the MCU VDD is powered at 1.8v and VDDA at 3.3v. in the recommended design by ST, there is ferite bead between MCU VDD and VDDA, ferite bead is basically inductor which acts as short circuit for DC current, so how can I short between 3.3v and 1.8v? or is there other way to connect it?Thanks in Advance!

Hi all,i want to use some hardware peripherals in OP-TEE. I got the GPIO driver (stm32_gpio in core/drivers) to work with my PTA (Pseudo Trusted Application). I now wanna use the I2C peripheral using the stm32_i2c driver.I coundn't find any example code (for the GPIO neither), is there somewhere an example of how to use the drivers from a PTA?EDIT: I was able to configure the I2C peripheral with the driver, i missed the GPIO configuration. Some documentation of the OP-TEE drivers would be a nice feature for the future nevertheless =)

Hi everyone,I'll be at Embedded World again this year in the STM32 area. Would love to meet some of you there. I'll be the guy not wearing shoes =)Best regards,Martin

Hi, can somebody help with USB CDC on stm32f407G-DISC. I have configure in CUBE MX to use usb CDC in FS and when i connect to PC ( WINDOWS 10)  i see setting up device (STM32_Comport) and then pc says that USB serial device is ready to use. Why window give name to "USB serial device" and not "STM32_Comport"?

Hi there,I made a design with the CR95HF and it's working. The design of the EMI filter and matching circuit is done like on the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 NFC card reader board, see [UM1799] page 12.I'd now like to tune the components on my design to increase the reader performance. In [AN4327] on page 15, there is a point saying: "Measure the DC voltage in the ST_R0 pin: adjust the ZRX component value to limit the voltage measured on ST_R0 below 7 V." I guess it's to make sure, the differential voltage between RX1 and RX2 stays within the allowed range, because if it is above 7 V one should adjust ZRX. If I'm measuring the voltage between GND and ST_R0, I measure an average value of 8.6 V in my design (see hhd-gnd_str0.png). On the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1, I measure 9.8 V (see nucleo-gnd_str0.png). Both voltages are over the recommended 7 V from [AN4327]. However if I'm measuring the voltage between pin RX1 and RX2, I'm far away from the maximum differential voltage of 18 V mentioned in [CR95HF] page

I'm using STM32F767 Nucleo-144 and am trying to get the SPI 4,5 and 6 working. SPI1-3 work fine. On the Nucleo Board manual I don't find any reference to SPI4-6 at all. So it is possible that those SPI aren't working on the Nucleo Board for some reason? I already created a post in the chibiOS Forum here: http://www.chibios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=5409&p=37247#p37247I Just wanted to check if it's maybe a hardware issue.

Hi everyone..Along time ago, i had see the article 'https://touchgfx.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019884752-Configuring-STM32F746G-DISCO'but currently that line seem die.everyone, Who can tell me, how to config TouchGFX with STM32F446-Disco using CubeMXThanks and Best Regards

Hi,Am working on making a RFID reader using the ST25-EVAL kit. According to its user manual, it is capable of transmitting at 29dBm with external PA. I intend to use this with a 8dBi far field antenna. What is the typical distance my reader can detect tags, with such a setup?Regards,Bhargav

Hi,The STM32G0 seems like a nice lineup for Mainstream MCUs.For my product the specs would fit quite nicely, but I would need CAN bus support. In several Presentations it is mentioned that some will support CAN FD (up to 2 instances), but I have not been able to find any neither in STM32CubeMX nor on st.com.Has anybody found out more details which STM32G0 will have CAN support? When will those products be available for evaluation and production? Thanks Thomas

Hello,After playing around with the Nucleo board and wanting to try the simple BLE Beacon example, I believe I somehow got the bootloader stuck.I could enter DFU mode the first time and flash accordingly to the instruction given. However, trying to flash another binary gave the STCubeProgrammer a segfault, and now the device is not recognised anymore and can't seem to be flashed through USB.Is there any way to recover? Possible to rewrite bootloader / FUS through the STLink? Thanks a lot

Hi,I've two kind of STM32CubeMX project : one for a STM32F401RE MCU and one for STM32F412CE. The fact is there is no, for example, PC3 pin on STM32F412CE MCU unlike on STM32F401RE MCU. (but STM32F412CE MCU has got a PC15 pin)it looks like that there is no macro that takes into account that PC3 is not present on STM32F412CE.Here is some code to illustrate my question :void HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIO_TypeDef* GPIOx, uint16_t GPIO_Pin) { /* Check the parameters */ assert_param(IS_GPIO_PIN(GPIO_Pin)); // 1 --> See comments below assert_param(IS_GPIO_ALL_INSTANCE(GPIOx)); // 2 --> See comments below // do some stuff (here it's the core of HAL_GPIO_TogglePin) if ((GPIOx->ODR & GPIO_Pin) == GPIO_Pin) { GPIOx->BSRR = (uint32_t)GPIO_Pin << GPIO_NUMBER; } else { GPIOx->BSRR = GPIO_Pin; } }1 : IS_GPIO_PIN should be ok because GPIO_PIN_MASK == 0x0000FFFFU so (((((uint32_t)PIN) & GPIO_PIN_MASK ) != 0x00U) && ((((uint32_t)PIN) & ~GPIO_PIN_MASK)

Hi everyone,Up until now I've been doing FUS upgrades and BLE stack flashing on my WB55 Nucleo through the USB bootloader interface, but given that my final PCB won't have a USB port on it (space restrictions), I've had to start learning how to flash through the SWD instead. Following the instructions in the release notes for the wireless copro binaries, I can run -fwdelete just fine, and I can also successfully upload the BLE stack and run my application after that. My only concern is that when I try doing an FUS upgrade with:STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe -c port=swd mode=UR -ob nSWboot0=0 nboot1=1 nboot0=1 -fwupgrade stm32wb5x_FUS_fw_1_0_2.bin 0x080EC000 firstinstall=0I get the following output:------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.4.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------   ST-LINK SN : 066AFF3837334D4E43125539 ST-LINK FW : V2J34M25 Voltage : 3.26V SWD freq : 4000 KHz Connect mode: Under Reset Reset

I using STM32F103C8, SW4STM32 and CubeMx When using input capture mode and call __HAL_TIM_SET_CAPTUREPOLARITY(htim, TIM_CHANNEL_1, TIM_INPUTCHANNELPOLARITY_FALLING);The complier always show error: /Users/duonghuuhoang/iWorks/ARM/TIM_InputCapture/Drivers/STM32F1xx_HAL_Driver/Inc/stm32f1xx_hal_tim.h:1745:106: error: expected ':' before ')' tokenI do not modify and any single line in stm32f1xx_hal_tim.h
