Why does flasch memory lose saved data after being read and written after power off?Andrzej

I am designing a typical TRIAC drive circuit, opto drive of the gate, snubber, transient protection etc. All app notes I read are saying that the load to be driven (in my case the primary side of a transformer) should be placed on the TRIAC's MT2 pin (I am using BTA26).   Is there something special about the GATE and MT1 relation that is effected by a load being driven at the MT1 pin? In fact, I prefer to have the inductive load at the MT2 pin, but the design may require that I put the load at the MT1 pin. The source voltage to be switched is L1 and Neutral (120VAC). Please advise. NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. Hello! I'm trying to smoothly brake a three phase brushless motor, by short circuiting the phases. At this moment an overvoltage occurs damaging the power circuit. Is this the right way to do it? Thanks

Hi,I developed a firmware for STM32L496QGI6P and all went well. After some time we produced new devices and there we discovered a problem with the ADC. The only different with the new hardware was the "date code" of the STM32L496.With date code 749 I started a ADC as:Enable ADCSet previous stored calibration valuesStart HAL_ADC_Start_DMA( ...With date code 005 I had to :Enable ADCSet previous stored calibration valuesDisable ADCStart HAL_ADC_Start_DMA( ...Has anyone or ST an explanation for this?RegardsArminSolved:It was my mistake. I  was disabling deep power down and enabling the internal regulator while ADC was enabled. That was not such a good idea.

I created a motor control programm for the STM32G030K8 with the MCDSK Software and imported it into the STM32CubeIDE. The programm compiles and works fine on my hardware. When I try to allocate some data on the last 2k Page of the Flash I get an error-Message, telling me, that the Flash overflowed. For the code please see the attached pdf-file.I have no idea, why this happens although the adress im writing to is within the adressrange of the 64k Flash-memory.When I create an extra memory-space (please see attached pdf-file), using the same code, everything works fine.Unfortunately I have not very much experience with the gcc linker yet. Can anyone tell me why one version works, while the other version leads to an error? Thanks,Andreas

Hi, I recently designed my own pcb board for STM32WB55CEUx MCU.Then, during working with my board I got some problem at APP_BLE_Init() functionand the symptoms are exactly same with thisSTM32WB55 BLE Stack trouble on new hardware: https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000B5IOp2SQG/stm32wb55-ble-stack-trouble-on-new-hardwareand thisSTM32WB : Bug in FW_WB_V1.0.0: aci_gap_set_discoverable > hci_send_req > hci_cmd_resp_wait - wait infinitely for hci_cmd_resp_release after few connection/disconnectionhttps://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000AYqZ6mSQF/stm32wb-bug-in-fwwbv100-acigapsetdiscoverable-hcisendreq-hcicmdrespwait-wait-infinitely-for-hcicmdresprelease-after-few-connectiondisconnectionSo, I think I should update the ble stack inside my mcu. But, I can only find the examples for the nucleoboard, which has USB bootloader mode.I only have ST-link interface in my custom board. How can I update ble stack with only stlink? or is it impossible?Every pins of STM32WB55CEUx is avail

Hi,I was wondering if anyone have made a 'rotary-style' button, like a rotary encoder or a volume knob that can go on-screen?I suspect it would involve resolving a touch input and mapping it to some sort of circular motion or something like that. A rounded slider would also be of high interest!Any inputs would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have created a .sfc file which I successfully write to my stepper motor. I need to drive the motor in Full step mode (which I am doing at present). Stepper motor is a 1.8deg motor - so 200 steps per complete revolution.

Although the ST25R3911B_DISCO-FW (v1.2.8) includes a couple of example files (exampleRfalNfca.c and exampleRfalPoller.c), those two files don't appear to exist within the distribution, though they are mentioned within the included help files. Are those actually available anywhere?

Dear All,So, i have just implemented Uart receive as an interrupt on the stm32f401re board using the HAL library in STM32cube ide.I have failed to process characters when they are more than one.Any advise for me, i will be glad.

I am developing with stm32f469i_Discovery board. The development board is a 4-inch LCD and what I need is a 5-inch LCD.While searching for 5-inch LCDs, it found ILI9806E Control IC products.I am looking for an LCD driver for a test with a 5-inch LCD instead of a 4-inch LCD, and I have a question, so I ask someone to answer it.The development board's LCD is the MIPI interface. I saw the circuit diagram of the development board, and I understand that the control pins are connected to the HS_D0P, HS_D0N, HS_D1N, HS_CP, and HS_CN pins. But if you look at the initialization code on the development board,MX_LTDC_Init();I think the square part is not MIPI interface but I2C communication to initialize LCD Control IC...Can you tell me what your configuration is on this stm32f469i_Discovey board?

When I setup the UART i activated both DMA TX and RX, and I turned on the UART Interrupt in the MX program. Looking at the code in stm32f4xx_hal_uart.h Around line 680/* Callbacks Register/UnRegister functions ***********************************/#if (USE_HAL_UART_REGISTER_CALLBACKS == 1)HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_UART_RegisterCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart, HAL_UART_CallbackIDTypeDef CallbackID, pUART_CallbackTypeDef pCallback);HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_UART_UnRegisterCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart, HAL_UART_CallbackIDTypeDef CallbackID);#endif /* USE_HAL_UART_REGISTER_CALLBACKS */So how do you do an idle_line interrupt using the HAL? I am using STM32F446.

Posted on April 14, 2017 at 22:44Tried to get this working, no success.HID is OK, virtual COM, MSD, everything works fine.Audio class is recognized as composite device only. I've connected USB DP, DM and GND only. VBUS sensing is OFF.  12 MHz external HSE clock implemented, PLL for usb is generating 48 MHz correctly.I'm on the latest cubeF4 version (1.15.0) and IAR IDE. Any ideas, why it's not working? #stm32 #cubemx-f4 #usb-audio #cubemx

I am designing a sensor board from scratch. It will be similar to evaluation board ..\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_L4_V1.16.0\Projects\B-L475E-IOT01A.I have tried example projects, they work great. Since ST do not have .ioc files for the this board, I do not know what IDE was used and how the codes were generated with correct configuration and correct driver files in the correct directory structure.I tried recreating a project with this board (using CubeMX ) and adding one component only from It created the project with this structureIt builds without any errors. So far so good. Now I want to copy just one function from the example such as while (1) {    Temperature_Test(); }This code will look for the associated driver files, API and other supporting configuration codes. Can someone guide me or show me a procedure to identify the files with their locations and copy them to relevant directory and also paste the codes (with any changes if necessary)

I've gone through AN2594 and the associated examples. They're all for the standard peripheral library which is now deprecated.Someone has an example of a port on github that looks reasonably complete https://github.com/lamik/EEPROM-emulation-STM32F1-HAL/blob/master/Src/eeprom.c and at this stage it looks like I will be using thathowever...I'm wondering it ST have (or are planning to have) an official update?

I have an STM32H743 connected to a screen that uses ST7789 via FMC (i.e. parallel connection) using 8-bit bandwidth and A18 to select between command and data. The current code has an issue that the screen output is messed up (see pictures below) if I don't add a sleep to my write functions that uses FMC.The code is working (no need for delay) under STM32CubeIDE but I ported it to work as part of MicroPython.Things that I already considered:Python speed - The code in C is a nested for loop and calls writeData so it isn't a python speed thing.System clock/FMC - I copied the whole code of FMC initialization (including Msp), GPIO and systemclock to MicroPYthon without any fix.HAL version - MicroPython uses a different stm32 HAL version but I copied the SRAM/FMC files and it still didn't workAny pointer on what might be the issue? Is it a FMC clock configuration? some configuration on external memory location?Any config that slows down the FMC as RAM accessAppendix:#define COMMAND_LOCATION

I was able to open the ST25R3911B_DISCO_FW's included DISCO-STM32L4x6.uvprojx file. It builds and debugs easily, until... I try to uncomment back in the functions in its main and while (StreamDispatcherInit, ProcessIO and dispatcherWorker), which then promptly breaks Keil's own 32k size limit for the free version.  Well, that'll get the hopeful STM32 newbie seeking an alternative to an expensive Keil uVision license right quick, won't it?  So, I'm trying to drag the code over to STM32CubeIDE and build there, beginning with ST example code in the CubeIDE appropriate to the ST25R3911B-DISCO board's host MCU (an STM32L476).Any best practice for dragging code over from uVision to CubeIDE? Thx.

Hello. For my automotive project I need to imitate motorcycle handlebar that uses LINbus for buttons many buttons. Since I can't always take handle off motorcycle I need to make emulator of it.This is Typical frame, and I mapped all bits of this burst. Brak , sync, ID is by my understanding is generated by master ( ECU ) and data is generated by handlebar controller. Is where any example how to use LINbus? My understanding it should be something like CANBus, I get I whould get IRQ then ID is matched and simply send data just like regular UART message as well as calculate message CRC ? Any information would be welcome. Thank you !

We have designed a custom bootloader solution that works on multiple STM32 devices, however when we attempted to use it on STM32L496VE we realised HAL_FLASHEx_Erase did not clear the flash, even though it returned HAL_OK.On further investigation, it was found that the HAL library assumes any stm32L4xx has 2 banks, with each bank having half the FLASH_SIZE. This meant that FLASH_SIZE is set to 512KB, and FLASH_BANK_SIZE is set to 256KB for STM32L496VE, whereas the datasheet states that this IC has 1 bank of 512KB.Note - we have modified the defines to ensure STM32L496VE has only 1 bank in the HAL Library, however HAL_FLASHEx_Erase still does not work. Potentially the assumption that the device has 2 banks causes a lot of ripples throughout all the other libraries for the same device. Is there any assistance you can provide with this please?Regards,Kaz

Hi,We are currently evaluating the possibility of using the LSM6DSO and LPS22HH with the MotionFD library, to detect when our product has been dropped from height (up to 9 meters). One of our requirements is that the product always monitors for fall events even when the main MCU is off/standby. Seeing as we do not need a real time indication of a fall event (just keeping a log of events), we want to try and utilise the FIFO buffer on the accelerometer to collect data that can retrospectively be passed to the MotionFD algorithm for analysis.According the the MotionFD user guide (https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/dm00427990-getting-started-with-motionfd-realtime-fall-detection-library-in-xcubemems1-expansion-for-stm32cube-stmicroelectronics.pdf), the library requires "accelerometer and pressure sensor data sampling frequency is 25 Hz".Upon review of the LSM6DSO datasheet, it was found that the closest batching data rate that can be used for the FIFO is 26 Hz. Will this mismatch b

Hello everyone,I'm debuging a project with 2 recent commented lines, and the debug is executing this lines: I previously builded that project, I don't understand what's happening, maybe you can answer me that question.Thank you in advance!

Hello,I am using GCC and eclipse CDT. I need to execute an external interrupt very fast (every 4µs). There is not a lot to do in there but I use about 2.5µs of time in the interrupthandler. I tryied to put the handler in to ram wich gave me the relocation truncated to fit: R_ARM_THM_CALL against symbol error. I put the handler into the data section with __attribute__ ((section(".data"))) . The reset handler copies the data section to ram. In the linker the data section is defined with   .data :   {   _data = .;   *(.data)    /* Data memory */   _edata = .;  } >ram AT > romNow my question is what could be wrong. The STM32F103C8 has 20K of RAM. That should be more than enough plus all the variables.Alternative would be to pre cache the interrupt code and keep it in code. Is that possible? When I look at the code execution by toggling a pin it seems the interrupt fires about 900ns after the inte
