HiI just testing some options for a future project which possibly involves a STM32F479VIT and I try to understand if it can handle an IS42S16400J-7TL SDRAM module.So I created a test project in CubeIDE but it does not show any SDRAM option in the FMC section. But in the Datasheet of the F479 there is a whole section dedicated to SDRAM. I am missing something? It shows only SRAM and PSRAM etc...

Hello,I am running FreeRTOS Multitasks application. Actually, I am using the DMA1 channel 4 and 5 for SPI transfer and request #1.Now, I wonder if I can run in parallel USART DMA using the same channels (4 and 5) but they are linked to another request #.. #2. So, can I have some issue to enable both? For example, I can wait data on UART lines for few seconds and in same time, I am using the SPI to communication with a device using the same DMA channel. Thanks for your helpChristian

Hi,With CubeMX I can adjust where the repositories are saved. This function is missing in CubeIDE and its also not using the same from CubeMX.Because the saved files are huge, then I get problem when I login/logout in the company. Because the files are saved in the user directory, the first login/logout needed more than 1 hour because windows want to synchronise with the servers profile and the CubeIDE files are in the profile. The same happens again when i update the device database. This need a change or is there any way to change it?At the other side, its without any reason to have the same files twice in the system!!?? Why both programms dont use the same data?Osto

Reader IC: ST25R95 Reader Antenna: 47mmx34mm, 4 loop, PCB antenna based on the reference antenna design from the X-Nucelo-NFC03A1Tag IC: ST25TV02K-AD6H3Desired read range: 10cmI'm trying to optimise a NFC tag PCB antenna for a 10cm read-range for the system above. There are constrains on the dimensions of the tag antenna size. Ideal tag size for our application is roughly 25mmx50mm, however using off the shelf tags I only get close to 10cm with tags larger than 50mmx50mm or 30mmx80mm. As I'm using the ST25TV I've seen that I should tune the antenna for 23pF and hence Lant = 5.95uH. Using the eDesign tool I can play with various parameters to get this resultant inductance. However, there are many options like trace width, trace spacing and number of loops which play a part in the performance and read range of the resulting tag. Of course, tag antenna size / surface area play a significant part. Are there any rules of thumb that can help optimise for smaller size and long read range?As a

Hi, I have TESEO VIC3DA Evaluation board. I can not find this board schematics and other design files in ST website. I dismantle the box and look the eval board pcb and I saw there is STM32L4xx MCU. Here is my questions:We send the NMEA commands with Teseo Suite tool to that STM32L4xx MCU, right? STM32L4xx is host MCU right? Can I design a system without using PC tool and sending the commands with programming host MCU (maybe different from STM32L4xx) to module over UART or I2C? And, looking for TESEO LIV3F documents I found more app notes and support docs but not same for VIC3DA. Can I assume both modules are similar and take reference LIV3F docs and notes. Thanks in advance.

Currently working on a Bitcoin hardware wallet on the STM32F7 Discovery platform. I wanted to use the cryptographic library to secure information stored in the EEPROM as well as perform hashing functions. VFP is not supported in libSTM32CryptographicV3.0.0_CM7_GCC_ot.a Is there anybody that works at STM that would compile an object file with GCC and DM me with a copy. HelloI am a beginner. I am trying to build my project using the minmea library but I got a "timegm" warning.In the library page says <Some systems lack timegm. On these systems, the recommended course of action is to build with -Dtimegm=mktime which will work correctly as long the system runs in the default UTC timezone.>. I added the -Dtimegm=mktime in this places in my project settingMCU GCC Compiler >> Miscellaneous >> Add other flagsMCU GCC Linker >> Miscellaneous >> Add other flagsbut still I have the messages or wariningHow to solve it. I created a new project for an STM32F407VE and when the code is generated CubeMX puts this in SystemClock_Config: /** Activate the Over-Drive mode */ if (HAL_PWREx_EnableOverDrive() != HAL_OK) {  Error_Handler(); }When you try to compile it, it gets an error because HAL_PWREx_EnableOverDrive() is not defined!The whole SystemClock_Config is here:void SystemClock_Config(void){ RCC_OscInitTypeDef RCC_OscInitStruct = {0}; RCC_ClkInitTypeDef RCC_ClkInitStruct = {0}; /** Configure the main internal regulator output voltage */ __HAL_RCC_PWR_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_PWR_VOLTAGESCALING_CONFIG(PWR_REGULATOR_VOLTAGE_SCALE1); /** Initializes the RCC Oscillators according to the specified parameters * in the RCC_OscInitTypeDef structure. */ RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSE; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSEState = RCC_HSE_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLState = RCC_PLL_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.

Hello,is there any way at all to make the offset calibration data (and maybe the cross-talk-calibration data) sent to the VL6180 not volatile like this? What is the reasoning behind it being overwritten after every restart? The same goes for the device address. Although that seems at least a little more reasonable to me.Background: For an IoT Project we will be using multiple VL6180 (together in one case called "Sensorbox" for this purpose) controlled by one MCU. However, the MCU will not be in the same "Sensorbox" but connected to it via a short cable. Therefore, the MCU is interchangeable between multiple "Sensorboxes" and by extension multiple sets of VL6180s. It is next to impossible for us to do the calibration with the exact same MCU that will be used in the final application. Transferring the different sets of calibration data for each Sensorbox between MCUs is more than just annoying. In addition to that, the MCU is battery powered where energy consumption is a major factor and

Hello, I am working with the discovery board STM32L100RC. I am trying to have three different timers (TIM2, TIM3, TIM4) as PWM. I'd like to do it's to have each timer ouput at '1' (3.3v) when a boolean variable is equal to '1' and at '0' (0V) when the same variable is equal to '0' .Here's what I started to code for each timer : static void MX_TIM2_Init(void) {   TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig = {0}; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0}; TIM_OC_InitTypeDef sConfigOC = {0};   htim2.Instance = TIM2; htim2.Init.Prescaler = 1; htim2.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim2.Init.Period = 15999; htim2.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim2.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_DISABLE; if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim2) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } sClockSourceConfig.ClockSource = TIM_CLOCKSOURCE_INTERNAL; if (HAL_TIM_ConfigClockSource(&htim2, &sClockSourceConfig) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } if (HAL_TIM_PWM

Started with the example that can be found on STM32H7 Github at https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeH7/tree/v1.9.0/Projects/STM32H745I-DISCO/Examples/QSPI/QSPI_MemoryMappedDual , I tried to port it into a brand new project generated with CubeMX for the target board STM32H745I-DISCO.First said, it would be nice if examples include also the CubeMX project file with "default settings for peripherals", this will really speed-up the prototyping phase, with benefit for developers and so for STM itself.Back to the problem, I tried change clock and peripheral settings to match the configuration found in the esample file, nothing worked for me for now, I will certainly dig more to find a working solution, but would be nice if you can provide a working CubeMX-generated example for that (and maybe also others) memory.Thank you, let's stay in touch.

Hi!MCU: STM32F429ZIBoard: STM32F429 DISC1STM32 CubeIDE Version 1.4.0I'm currently trying to include an external library to my project. The library is part of this extension: https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-audio.htmlI just want to use the MP3 Decoder from Spirit.I created a folder inside my project root directory like this:The original folder looks the same, I just changed the name.I successfully added the inc folder to my Includes:Project -> Properties -> C/C++ General -> Paths and Symbols -> Includes: /stm32_spirit2/Spirit/incNow I am trying to add the .a file to the Libraries tab (Project -> Properties -> C/C++ General -> Paths and Symbols -> Libraries). I can find the file in the CubeIDE explorer:It's now displayed as "${workspace_loc:/stm32_spirit2/Spirit/lib/lib_mp3decoder_cortex_m4_v2.2.0.a}" in this tab.When I'm building the project I get the following error:d:\programme\stm32cubeide_1.4.0\stm32cubeide\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.exte

Hey!I took the working project that is generated by TouchGFX Designer as a reference and made a new project on the DISCOVERY-F469 board.I made UI with two screens. Screen1 has a button to jump to screen 2 and an animated image.After flashing the board I can see my Screen1 with correctly running animation. The problem is that UI button isn't working. While debugging I checked the following:my function STM32TouchController::sampleTouch works, x and y coordinates it returns are correct (after reading this I double checked it https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000GWttISAT/why-not-call-buttoncallbackhandler-in-touchgfx).In the Screen1ViewBase.cpp file, I can go into the animationEndedCallbackHandler function, but the buttonCallbackHandler function is never called.In TouchGFX Designer Simulator button can be clicked correctly.What can be wrong?Thanks!

Hi There.I've successfully loaded the Sigfox_AT_Slave example to my device and the AT commands work 100%.I then followed the "Personalization and activation" section in document AN5480 to get and flash the Sigfox credentials from ST.When I try to load the Sigfox credentials to the device, it responds with success, but when I query the PAC afterwards it is still the default of 0000000000000000."...SIGFOX APPLICATION READYAT$PAC0000000000000000OK..."Is there anything else that I should do afterwards to get it updated in the registers?RegardsDamion

Hello,I would like to make communicating power converters that I can program with Simulink. I use several NUCLEO G474RE and when I configure them with CubeMX I can enable FDCANs but not CANs. The problem is that in the Simulink library there are CANs blocks and not FDCANs, hence I can't find how to link my Simulink blocks to the FDCAN I enabled.Does anyone know a way to bypass this problem?Thanks in advance.

When I want to understand how touchgfx platform works, especially the operation on the framebuffer, I realize there are some functions I could not get the source code e.g. the functions swapFrameBuffers() and tick() below which seems to be defined in a library code. Does ST provide source code for this?/** * Has to be called from within the LCD IRQ rutine when the Back Porch Exit is reached. * * Has to be called from within the LCD IRQ rutine when the Back Porch Exit is reached. */ virtual void backPorchExited() { swapFrameBuffers(); tick(); }
