There is external crystal on my PCB Mfr part: X1E0003410273 I am working on STM32 Cube IDE. At first whenever I enabled external crystal my program did not run at all. Even In low frequencies. Then I enabled Clock Secure System (CSS) Now my program is running with external crystal with 48MHz HCLK but when I try to increase it more than 48Mhz program stops running again. I am beginner in stm32 and only working with Cube IDE. Is there problem with external crystal I choose or something else?Here is my Clock configuration

I'd like to use a ST VL53L1 to measure distance, but am thoroughly confused by the API. It uses a standard I2C protocol per the datasheet.In lieu of instructions on how to configure and take readings, the datasheet points to a separate document: UM2133. This describes an API as a set of C function calls, ideally from Linux. I've no idea how to get started with this. I'm not even using C (Rust).Is there a fallback I2C register-based API to use? How do you call a C function from I2C? I've never come across a device that works this way before! What does it mean by Host? What does Linux have to do with an I2C IC? Thank you.I just want to have this thing send readings over DMA to my STM32.

HiI am assuming the random numbers generated by the RNG have a uniform distribution.Is this correct?Best regardsRob

I'm trying to use USART3 on STM32F103VCT6 on pins PC10 (USART3_TX) /PC11(USART3_RX) using alternative functions (Remap) and I'm not having success.From the MCU datasheet I can use these pins for communication.void UART3_GPIO_Config (void) { //Enable Port C clock RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_IOPCEN; RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_AFIOEN;//Remap ON     //Mode to AF and Fast speed GPIOC->CRH &= ~GPIO_CRH_CNF10; GPIOC->CRH |= GPIO_CRH_CNF10_1; GPIOC->CRH &= ~GPIO_CRH_CNF11; GPIOC->CRH |= GPIO_CRH_CNF11_0;//Input Floating   //Output max 10Mhz GPIOC->CRH &= ~GPIO_CRH_MODE10; GPIOC->CRH |= GPIO_CRH_MODE10_0; GPIOC->CRH &= ~GPIO_CRH_MODE11;   //Map to PC10, PC11 //AFIO->MAPR &= ~AFIO_MAPR_USART3_REMAP; //AFIO->MAPR |= AFIO_MAPR_USART3_REMAP_PARTIALREMAP; AFIO->MAPR |= (0UL << 5); AFIO->MAPR |= (0x1 << 4); }void UART3_Config (void) { //UART3 clock enable RCC->APB1ENR |= RCC_APB1ENR_USART

When I view the CNT register of the TIM8 structure during debug it does count up to 1000 before resetting. I am using PI6 of the discovery board (Discovery Board Manual). The pin does not output a pulse however I confirmed that the circuit works electrically just by using the pin as a GPIO to control an LED. Please see clock, Timer 8 config as well as Timer 8 start. /** * @brief System Clock Configuration * @retval None */ void SystemClock_Config(void) { RCC_OscInitTypeDef RCC_OscInitStruct = {0}; RCC_ClkInitTypeDef RCC_ClkInitStruct = {0};   /** Configure the main internal regulator output voltage */ if (HAL_PWREx_ControlVoltageScaling(PWR_REGULATOR_VOLTAGE_SCALE1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } /** Initializes the RCC Oscillators according to the specified parameters * in the RCC_OscInitTypeDef structure. */ RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_MSI; RCC_OscInitStruct.MSIState = RCC_MSI_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.MSICalibrationValue = 0; RCC_OscInit

The device is recognized by the smartphone, but is unable to pair with it even though the ST BLE Sensor recognizes and does connect and download its configuration and provide battery level. It indicates that it is logging DAT files to the SD card and does allow CSV export of the data t; however, I am unable to read the sensor readings on the phone.

When using STM32CubeIDE, it is easy to inadvertantly make changes to source files that are up on the screen, often as a result of the focus being on the wrong window when one types. (This can easily happen when debugging, e.g. I have the focus on a terminal window, and the code hits a breakpoint, which shifts the focus to a source code window--sometimes when I'm in the middle of typing into the terminal window).That is not the problem though (although it might be nice to address it, perhaps by offering a code "read-only" mode controlled by a button in the toolbar).The big problem is that if there are unsaved changes to source files, and one launches the integrated MX, makes changes to the configuration and saves, one is asked whether to generate source code. If one selects "yes", *then* one gets a dialog saying that there are unsaved source code changes, do you want to save them or discard them. I don't want to do either!!!! I want to cancel code generation and go back to the IDE and s

I made a firmware download project using a factory bootloader according to AN4286. Everything works fine. I have only one ambiguity - in the description of the bootloader in AN2606 there is a picture on which the SCK signal is pulled-down to the ground and in the description it is written that there must be a 10k resistor.  Please explain the need to use a pull-down of the SCK to the ground. Is it possible to do without it?

I am currently using an STM32F030 MCU's external interrupt to measure an incomming PWM signals Frequency, Period, Duty Cycle and Pulse Width. The incoming signal can be between 0 - 4.167Hz. This is working great, capture all three transitions in the PWM signal, time stamp them with HAL_GetTick() and then calculate the wave's parameters using math.Because as the signal approaches 0Hz it can take a very long time for a full signal to arrive and be characterized. For example, if the wave is 0.02Hz (which is very possible in this application) it will take 50 seconds for the full wave to arrive at the MCU before the MCU can then calculate that and tell the user the frequency. Because of this, it's been requested that I add "trending" to the code where if the last measured frequency is lets say 0.1 Hz and the user changes it to 0.02 Hz then as the MCU is waiting for the next wave to fully arrive it will slowly lower the frequency output to the user and the user can see it move down to 0.02 H

Hi,I'm building a project using Cube MX (LL drivers) for the STM32U575ZITxQ processor (has SMPS) and I would like to get the processor into LL_PWR_REGU_VOLTAGE_SCALE4. Setting the MSIS to 16MHz achieves this but when I add in the 4 bit SDMMC interface in Cube MX the auto generated code only sets the regulator voltage to LL_PWR_REGU_VOLTAGE_SCALE3. This results in higher power consumption.I am aware of the clock limitations of the SDMMC vs AHB bus and have adjusted PLL1P (sources SDMMC clock) to 16 MHz.If I manually change the code to set it to SCALE 4 every thing seems to work ok but I would rather not deviate from the auto generated Cube MX code. Is it possible to achieve voltage scale 4 with SDMMC?Many thanksBen

The operating temperature range for the above MCU is -40 to 85 deg C (105 deg C junction). Does it mean that the maximum temperature for soldering is 105 deg C, or does it just mean that the MCU will shut down at 105 deg C? I would appreciate it if you refer to any official application note.

I have a STM32H745 Nucleo and I am trying to get the CAN peripheral working. I believe I have everything set up correctly (bit rate, RAM etc) but when I call HAL_FDCAN_AddMessageToTxFifoQ() the first time the peripheral goes back to INIT. The next call to it fails because the FIFO (size of 1 in current code) is full and the message never gets sent. I've attached the entire project including the ioc. The FDCAN configuration and sending code was basically copied from the the H7 DISCO board example. I've tried increasing the TxFifo size but nothing really changes. The FIFO fills up and then the AddMessage call fails. Always on the first call, the CCCR.INIT bit goes high when the line hfdcan->Instance->TXBAR = ((uint32_t)1 << PutIndex); is executed in the HAL_FDCAN_AddMessageToTxFifoQ() call.Any help is appreciated.

I am looking this source codes to use Ymodem protocole,https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeF4/blob/master/Projects/STM324xG_EVAL/Applications/IAP/IAP_Main/inc/ymodem.hBut I've a question about that, Line 65 says to us as in below:/* /-------- Packet in IAP memory ------------------------------------------\ * | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | ... | n+4 | n+5 | n+6 | * |------------------------------------------------------------------------| * | unused | start | number | !num | data[0] | ... | data[n] | crc0 | crc1 | * \------------------------------------------------------------------------/ * the first byte is left unused for memory alignment reasonsAccording to this informaton PACKET_DATA_INDEX define 4. But I dont understand this because in the Ymodem includes data in 3th byte, why we choose the 4th byte or SOH is the 0th index of the frame, why we get this as a 1

Hello, I created a Makefile Project in STM32CubeIDE which uses ARM MDK Toolchain. I would like to know if it is somehow possible to use STM32CubeIDE for debugging in conjunction with ARM MDK?As in uVision IDE from ARM doesn't support to load more than one .elf/.axf to target.

Can this product VL53L0X work in high vaccum range condition( 10^-3 to 10^-8 torr)?What is the resolution of this product VL53L0X?What is working temperature range of this product VL53L0X?

Hi everybody,I'm trying to configure the OCTOSPI1 bus as Single-SPI to read the status register of an external memory (MRAM).What I expect to see on the scopeWhat I really see:The MCU sends the comand (0x05) on the SI line, generates 8 clock cycles and pulls down the /CS line.IO1 is always 1.Please, find below more details about the setup and code (ask me for more detais if needed):My systemMCU: STM32H7B3IOCTOSPI1Input frequency: 129 MHzPrescaler = 4 to meet max frequency constraints of the memory (40 MHz).Configured as Single-SPI mode 0.MemorySize: 512 KBMax. operating frequency: 40 MHz.Mode 0 and mode 3 support.PinoutPhysical connectionsOCTOSPI1.SIO0 -> SIOCTOSPI1.SIO1 -> SOOCTOSPI1.CS -> /CSOCTOSPI1.CLK -> SCKThe /HOLD and /WP pins are at high level, so disabled.OCTOSPI Initstatic void MX_OCTOSPI1_Init(void) { OSPIM_CfgTypeDef sOspiManagerCfg = {0}; hospi1.Instance = OCTOSPI1; hospi1.Init.FifoThreshold = 1; hospi1.Init.DualQuad = HAL_OSPI_DUALQUAD_DISABLE; hospi1.In

Hi,We are using stm32mp157a processor in my custom board.In my custom board we have limited peripherals so i need to disable remaining peripherals like ltdc and hdmi ,etc. I disabled in dts files but it didn't effected. How can i disable peripherals in u boot?

hello guys,I am going to buy a board my main concern is: I want to measure the power consumption of my application. so I found STM32Cube Monitor-power for this purpose. I have doubt about which board will work with this app, based on the video at the end of this linkhttps://blog.st.com/stm32-power-shield-ulpmark/ power shield is available on these boards : 1-STM32L011K4 2-Nucleo-l476RG3-Nucleo-l476ZG-P4-STM32l476G-DISCO5-STM32L476G-EVALand X-NUCLEO-LPM01ADoes the CubeMonitor-Power work with Nucleo-l476RG ? but the cubemonitor-power document said it only work for STM32l476G-DISCOSTM32L476G-EVAL

Hi.I've been working on a project recently, and I've been having trouble with mounting an SD card. I've been getting FR_NOT_READY from f_mount function. Diving deeper into the code, I've found that SDMMC_GetCmdResp2 returns SDMMC_ERROR_CMD_RSP_TIMEOUT; which in return causes for the f_mount to fail. My project is a custom PCB with an STM32F722VETx uC. I'm using FatFs (ver. R0.12c) with SDMMC in 4bits mode and DMA. Maybe I should note that I'm also using STemWin for this project.I've tried lowering the clock and different kind of SD cards without success. My question is, what could cause for the SDMMC_GetCmdResp2 to return SDMMC_ERROR_CMD_RSP_TIMEOUT ?Thanks a lot!
