''i am familiar with AVR''
So remember back to the days before you became familiar with AVR software - how did you gain that familiarity?
The process of gaining familarity with any new thing is the same; so just do it again - but, this time, for STM8.
Things you'll need to do:
''STM8 product information, related tools and additional resources
can be found on ST website: click
http://www.st.com/internet/mcu/class/1738.jsp
.''
Did you try clicking ?

For Avr Avr studio and Source insight is required but for STM8s which software is required STVD,STMSTUDIO,Croma,Renea....?

Again, see the link at the top of this forum's ''home'' page:
''STM8 product information, related tools and additional resources
can be found on ST website: click
http://www.st.com/internet/mcu/class/1738.jsp
.''
When you click , it takes you to the STM8 ''home'' page - bookmark that! On that page you will see a 'Resources' tab; on that tab is a link to 'tools home' - the clue is in the name!
