SensorTile.box pro not entering DFU mode on Windows

Ig

Hi,

I'm having problems entering in DFU mode on Windows using a sensortile.box pro. The board doesn't even show up on device manager howerver using the same board, with the same USB cable, on the same USB port on the same PC running Ubuntu the board enters DFU mode normally. I tried reinstalling CubeProgrammer more than once and also removing and reinstallig drivers but to no avail.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Hello @Ig,

I tried an STM32U585 (Since I don't have the exact sensortile board on hand) and it enters DFU mode just fine on Windows. So maybe try to select the driver from CubeProgrammer installation path in Windows ? If you have other DFU hosts (Dfuse for example), try removing them.

Hope this helps,

Aziz

Having the same problem, I have two Windows 10 computers, and two SensorTile.Box PRO.  Can not get either into DFU.

Hello @Ig @gbaker  ,

Did you find a solution? I am facing the same problem.

Just stumbled across this old thread. Since internet searches can also find this, I would like to mention the solution to this DFU problem:

  1. Connect the SensorTile.Box PRO via its USB-C port to the computer.
  2. Start DFU mode:
    • with SensorTile.Box PRO switched off, press and hold button 2 (the button next to the power switch)
    • switch SensorTile.Box PRO on (or off and then on again) and
    • release button 2

  3. Start the STM32CubProgrammer and select USB in the light blue field at the top right.
  4. In the line 'Port' below, the text ‘No DFU detected’ is usually displayed in the light grey field.
  5. Apparently, the following was not taken into account:
    • the appropriate port must first be found, so click the ‘Refresh’ button (two arrows in a circle) to the right of the ‘Port’ line.

  6. When the text ‘USB1’ or (another USB number) appears under 'Port', you can 'Connect’.

I am very sorry that point 5 in UM3133, section 2.2, between step 4b and step 4c was forgotten to be added.

Regards
/Peter
