In our early evaluation phase, the stm32mp157 chip is ideal for our requirements - with the ability to do hard real-time processing with the M4 core but still have a Linux framework to develop interfaces to upstream processing applications. We feel that the DK2 Discovery board can be deployed in developed systems AS-IS until 'hardened' systems are needed for future military, space, and biomedical customers. The instrument technology we are developing is now being considered for phase-2 evaluation and studies with several interested clients but we need to know if the board will be available for a few years. In future 'hardened' systems, we and others will make our own boards using the stm32mp157 chip and request guidance regarding the long-term support commitment for the chip.

Thank you for evaluating our STM32MP1!
This family of microprocessors is part of our product longevity program and will be available for a minimum of 10 years.
Although the evaluation boards are expected to be available for a few years, the longevity program does not apply here. Additionally the STM32MP157C-DK2 and STM32MP157F-DK2 are evaluation boards which are intended for evaluation purposes only, as stated in the Terms of Use:
The Evaluation Board shall not be, in any case, directly or indirectly assembled as a part in any production of Yours as it is
solely developed to serve evaluation and testing purposes and has no direct function and is not a finished product.
We wish you success!
