STM32MP257F-DK LVDS connector questions

debugging
Lead

This question is a based on of a support ticket due to more knowledge persons from ST may answer this on the forum. Hope someone can help.

  1. Any specific reason to use this type of LVDS connector instead of 40pin FPC ? (less costly connector and cable, easier for development)
  2. Do you have recommended LVDS cable to ST's LVDS LCD ?  I-PEX 81422-100B-02-D ? or what does ST use for testing/development ?
  3. Any recommendation for any LVDS  to FPC 0.5mm pitch conversion cable ?
  4. What is the part-number of the LVDS receptable on the board. Is it I-PEX 20455-040E or another brand ?
  5. Is it the same connector on LCD side ? if not, what connector is used at the LCD side ?
  6. What is the suggestion for the  LVDS plug on the cable ? I-PEX 20453 ?
  7. It seems there isn't a standard for LVDS cable pinout, correct ? Is there any standard or reference ST used for the pin assignment ?

Hi,

Receptacle on both EV/DK board are the one listed in board BOM, e.g.

CN2 Socket_FFC/FPC, 40pins, 0.5mm, RA, SMD, T=1mm   I-PEX 20455-040E-76

Display use JAE HD1S040HA1

The LVDS cable is stated using 2 x JAE HD1P040MA1 or equivalent plug connectors.

Cannot answer for other points, but I think the pinout come from LCD manufacturer (as we use an almost standard display).
