Creating a simple Notify Operation with BLE on STM32BW

I'm trying to create an application that sends information from a sensor connected to STM32WB (P-Nucelo WB55) to another device over BLE via notify. I followed each and every instruction in this video posted by STM, but that application simply doesn't work. The value of the characteristic remains zero even after pressing the button. Is the information in the video still relevant? I just need a simple way to transmit a buffer over BLE and I unfortunately can't find any resources on how to do that.
