Question

Can SWDIO and SWCLK pins (STM32WB5MMGH6TR) be directly connected to a Nucleo ST-Link?

I am designing a PCB that uses an STM32WB5MMGH6TR and I intend to use an ST-Link from one of my Nucleo boards for programming/debugging.

I have read through the SWD section in the reference manual and read that SWDIO requires a 100kohm pullup resistor. But I also read online that sometimes MCUs already have built-in pullups for these pins so there is no need to add them.

I would like to be certain about the proper wiring for these pins to avoid building an unprogrammable board. Will I be able to use my Nucleo ST-Link (6-pin connector) with this MCU after simply connecting the SWD pins? Will this MCU behave the same as any other when connected to an ST-Link?

Well if you are delicate, dual pull ups will half its value. Just start swd in lower bitrate kHz in the first try....

Use a breakable nucleo. The on nucleo target mcu should be disconnected from but in stlink.
