Keil Toolchain supports SWD
http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/ulink2/ulink2_ctx_jtag_adapter.htm I'm sure there are others Google ''Toolchain vendor name + SWD''2011-05-17 03:35 AM
Hello again,
As my question went unanswered, I have to repeat it. What software / hardware tools support SWD? So far I know IAR and a new J-Link does. As I will need another JTAG/SWD debugger hardware, which ones support SWD? My new project has a space constraints, so I need to use small connector. Much appreciate your help. Jan2011-05-17 03:35 AM
Jan,
As one of the guilty parties - I apologize. However I'd like to present my firm's ''work-around'' to your ''size-constrained'' requirement. We do not use any connector. Instead we employ a 1x8 or 2x4 array of pth (plated thru holes) on 0.1'' centers. We introduce JTAG signals via mating, spring-loaded test pins. We've designed small, economical fixture and have programmed 100's of boards in this manner. Now during development - while the JTAG ''STAYS'' on - we insert a standard header and leave the JLink on. One final point - as mentioned previously - we measured huge ''speed-up'' when comparing JTAG to SWD. I have noted programmer's efficiency increase as we reduce the delay between code changes and, ''did that work???'' We want to keep the programmer's focus - waiting is NOT your friend...2011-05-17 03:35 AM
Thank you for all responses.
Much appreciated. Jan
