Hi,
I am trying to make a 0,5 class meter with STM32 and STPM01.I found a software to calibrate the meter that is STSW-IPE005:http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF257783What I wanna know if there is a hardware that I can use to make a ''programmer'' and comunicate directly between the STPM01 and RS 232 from PC. So I can calibrate the meter.Any ideas?Thank for reading.2013-05-29 07:02 AM
Without wading in too deeply, it would appear you'll need a micro-controller with SPI and UART connectivity. Are you attaching the STPM01 to a micro-controller in your design, or are you planing on building a programming pod (in the fashion of an ST-LINK) ?

Hi Clive,
Thanks for reply.I am using the STM32F103 to comunicate with the STPM01. It is working fine and I am reading all the power, current and voltage values. The software I was refering is used to calibrate the STPM01. He comunicate directly with the STPM01 and give me the gains so I change the gains re-programming the STM32 by ST-LINK.The problem is that I dont find the hardware to do this by serial. I already find the hardware to do It by parallel port but its not the best option for me because the software accept serial. Here's what I have found:http://docweb.khk.be/khk/remote/technologie/Energy_Metering/11228.pdf

Even for 2005 that looks a bit antiquated.
How are your Windows App programming skills? I'd guess this uses MFC or VB, perhaps the source is available. If you understand the calibration process you could surely implement most of it on the STM32, and write a small app/script on the PC to drive test equipment to generate the required signals.2013-06-03 06:33 AM
Clive,
I guess that you don't understand me.The APP is given from the ST and can be downloaded in:What I need is the hardware to comunicate with it.I already have the hardware to parallel, but I want it by serial beacause the software can be parallel or serial.Sure I can do it on STM32. But if I have this software I think that is better to just use it.If I miss understand you please tell me.Thank you2013-06-03 07:48 AM
Might have helped if you provided the manual from the download rather than cite a 2004/2005 document.

The current one wants to use a VCP driver. If you need support for this device you should be seeking it through your local ST rep or FAE2013-06-04 10:28 AM
