STM32H725RGV6 - How to connect SMPS when no available VDDLDO

NirAlon
Associate III

Hello all,

In my design, I wish to use the STM32H725RGV6 (VFQFPN 68pin)

In this package, there is no embedded LDO.

There is no explanation or design example for the use the embedded SMPS in this package...

should I connect the SMPS output directly to VCORE?

Thanks

Nir

Hi @NirAlon ,

Thank you for updating post and for your comment.

Yes , you are right, the VCAP pin is available in VQFPN68 package.

It is correct, when LDO is disabled 100 nF close to each VCAPx pin.

Hello @NirAlon ,

When VCAP and VDDLDO is not available on a package you do not have to take care of it.

On VQFPN68 package all needed connection for VDDLDO is made internally, there is no choice has only SMPS configuration is allowed.

Please take a look at AN5419 figure 2, table 2. and table 30 in RM0468 may help you for power supply connection.

By configuring the SMPS step-down converter and LDO voltage regulator, the supply configurations shown in the below figure are supported for the VCORE core domain and an external supply.

Hi Kaouthar,

Thanks for the quick response!

A small correction, the VQFPN68 package does have a VCAP pin, the VDDLDO is not available.

Just to make sure I understood you, the configuration for VQFPN68 should look something like this?

Thanks again,
