There is many ADC examples within STM32Cube firmware package, I would recommend you the ready-use example in the cube package relevant to the device that you are using to understand the principle.

There are hundreds of STM32 parts at this point, you need to be specific about what model/family you are using.

It is also helpful to provide the code that isn't working, it is hard to review things that can't be seen.
