Would it be possible for ST, it's technical staff, or FAE's to participate in this forum in a more meaningful way?

How could anyone ever be ''forced'' to handle the ''help me blink an LED'' or ''do my homework for me'' posts? Anyone, ST-employed or not, can pick and choose to what they'll respond. If a post falls below an ''abject stupidity'' threshold, ignore it.
I used to spend a lot of time in other processor forums and yes, there was a constant stream of idiot posts. There was the occasional very interesting topic, but you get to where you can spot the zero-value posts almost immediately. By the way, where are all the ''great idea'' votes for this thread? Are there really only a couple dozen people here that give a rat's ...?2012-10-03 10:27 AM
Hello,
I still have a project on hold because of a problem when using DMA and TIM (byte offset). I tried to ask for support here, tried on the myST page to open a ticket (no reply), and now I'm trying to get a contact through the reseller (I already bought a few thousands STM32 chips). It is VERY annoying to have zero support from ST. I mean for common problems the community is enough, but for touchy issues like the one I'm facing, only official support could help. Proejct on hold means I don't finish it, don't sell it, don't buy STM32 chips (at least for this project) and ... well ... at the end can't feed my family ;) Thomas.2012-10-03 11:53 AM
Indeed, It's how some of the thorny issues are grasped, or not, that is the most telling. The best path is to be honest and straight forward with people. It cultivates trust.
You'd think some FAE's would want to look at some of these, and see if the push the boundary of the design, and if somethings work, or if there are other ways to solve a particular challenge. If something isn't going to work, or is just broken, it's ok to say so. I come here because it challenges my understanding of the part, and makes me think of aspects I can apply to my own work. I've worked with a lot of smart people over the years, and always appreciated those who share their knowledge and perspective.2012-10-04 04:40 AM
''You'd think some FAE's would want to look at some of these...''
Indeed, you would think. So, everyone (all8
that voted!) contact your ST FAE and ask them to get involved in this forum. Plead your cases vigorously. Tell them they'll be blessed by exposure to Clive1's brilliance and insight. Tell them their grass will be greener and their skies bluer...2012-10-04 06:34 AM

well, a theme recurring her has been ''the amateur may some day be the big cuctomer'' which I agree with now how would a budding amateur feel towards ST if his post (which (s)he does not consider(below an ''abject stupidity'' threshold) did get ignored.. (s)he would rush to get a NXP , Arghmel or TI devkit Erik

Dear all,
Interesting post ! Our Philosophy on these forums is to keep just moderation in case of critical cases, as the Forums are really successful thanks to all of your contribution as the STM32 Community. We cannot compete with CLIVE... Many of you are now experts on our STM32 MCUs and your help on answering the questions of ''Amateurs'' is what we appreciate the most. These students and small ctm will be for sure Big, one day !! we will continue amazing you with new products and new Kits in future more simple to play without ST Support. ( It is a challenging objective , but not impossible to achieve) Cheers, STOne-2012-10-04 04:24 PM
Oh brother!

Well, I guess that's that.
Now I'm just sad.
