i've got a new technology:

Will reduce the size of BootLoader in STM32F to 1300bytes, and increase the equivalent program size to 4000bytes, even more to 40k bytes!!!

Enable employ flexible and powerful ISP function.

sorry,It's a patent pending technology, so i must no disclose it without security.

this technology is mainly used of IAP application. but it also useful for ISP Bootloader in many MCUs.

if a mcu manufacturer own this technology, will become much more competitive in the market.

So why are you even mentioning it on a Public internet forum??!! :o

I don't suppose that publicly touting it around all the internet forums is going to improve your chances with any microcontroller manufacturer:

I just want to introduce my idea to a strong mcu manufacturer.

and make this idea productively ASAP.

It can reduce size of ISP Bootloader, and every chip!!!

So, if you are not happy, pls delete this thread.

And i apologize for my post.

I'll implement it for IAP only. and not for replace ISP Bootloader.

After the patent bulletin, i'll disclose everything.

Dear heavelove,

Your Idea is interesting for our STM32 products, as you know our boot-loader is less then 2Kbytes of flash which is enough compact to handle all RS232 High level flash commands as described in our AN2606.

Let me ask you some questions :

1) What is the additional latency of booting before using the final code ?

2) Is the idea to implement a kind of simple bootstrap that is able in next stage to download the final boot-loader to RAM or even flash and execute it ?

3) Is it using a Compression algorithm at start-up ?

4) if you manage to compress Thumb-2 code, this could be very interesting for all others applications where Flash memory is low like our 16K ( Low density devices) and even on 8-bits architectures ?

Let me know if one of my guesses are right :)

Cheers,

STOne-32.

Dear STOne-32:

First,I'm chinese,and english is poor.

So, My words perhaps seemed have no manner, and tough. pls excuse me.

Great! Some of your guess is near to answer!!! But that's some problem we should consider more important.

1the bootloader will ready to connect PC immediate, as the ISP Bootloader used now.

2it using a effective and artful Compression algorithm.

My email is ''heavelove AT 163 dot com'', or ''szjamesp AT gmail dot com''.

I wish to take a private communication with you by email.

Thanks.
