Best solution to stop and restart ADC with DMA in continous scan mode

Dear sirs,

we use the ADC in continous scan mode. The results are written per DMA.

Our application has to perform a ramtest. For this test we need to stop the DMA every ten minutes for about one millisecond and restart both after that.

What is the best and most reliable solution to stop and after that to restart the DMA and or ADC?
