I would like to use the X-CUBE-STL on a STM32F446RE to trigger a STO (safe torque off) and a SLS (safe limited speed) with PLc. The STO is no problem at all, since the controller can trigger that directly by using two input GPIOs and one output GPIO.
Now for the SLS, a safety encoder sends pulses and a STO should be triggered, when the puls frequency goes over a limit. Can the X-CUBE-STL handle a SLS with PLc? From my understanding, the triggering mechanism should be firmware independent, so the hardware timer should measure the pulses and make a STO trigger when the threshold is reached.
