STM32F401 with Adafruit Motor Shield v2.3

I am new to this platform and MCUs but know programming. I've received an ST Nucleo-64 (STM32F401) and an Adafruit Motor Shield v2.3. From the start, I'm stuck on the hardware. What is the proper way to connect this motor shield to this board?
