Space vector Modulation implementation

Hi Guys
I have a question about space vector modulation implementation. I'm reading a code for ST MC workbench designed to run SVPWM. there is calculations for sector identification in space vector that I can't get it's idea completely. if someone analyzed these vector calculations please help.

If you can understand the vector dot product, then it's easy to understand: the value of Y is equivalent to the dot product of the vector (Vα,Vβ) and the vector (√3/2,1/2), which points in the direction of 30°, i.e. if Y is greater than 0, the angle of the V-vector is in the range of -60° to 120°(sectors 1, 2, 6)
